The first weekend in May will be one of the biggest weekends for pro wrestling in the Chicagoland area as fans from all over the country and even abroad will converge on the Berwyn Eagles Club for an AAW/Shimmer triple shot weekend. AAW kicks off the festivities on Friday 5/1 with "Point of No Return 09". The show will feature the first title defense of the new AAW Heavyweight Champion, the return of a Chicago favorite and the debuts of several new exciting talents. Let's take a closer look at the card. AAW HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE w/ Dave PrazakvsLast month Jay Bradley returned to AAW after a three year absence and won a hard fought battle over former champion Keith Walker to qualify for the Final Four match. The fans were behind Bradley in the main event when he suffered what seemed to be a serious knee injury in the early going. Bradley was helped to the back leaving Tyler Black to defend his title against Egotistco Fantastico. After a twenty minute war Black was victorious and had seemingly retained the title until out of nowhere Bradley returned with Dave Prazak in tow and hit Black with a vicious lariat to win the AAW Heavyweight crown. The fans were shocked and Bradley had fooled everyone. With Tyler Black already signed to face Arik Cannon at "Point of No Return" AAW owner Jim Lynam needed to find an opponent and needed to look no further than a man who is an instant threat to any title in the country; Chicago's own Colt Cabana. Cabana and Bradley are no strangers to one another having come up in the business together many years ago. Both men are former WWE stars and both have upped their games tremendously since those early days. Can Cabana complete his homecoming by capturing the AAW title or will Bradley and Prazak be able to hold on to the championship? Knowing Prazak he will go to any lengths to keep the belt within DP Associates. #1 CONTENDERS MATCHvsA match that was originally scheduled to be champion vs champion until the events of last month, Tyler Black takes on the current Heritage Champion Arik Cannon in a non title match with the number one contendership to the Heavyweight title at stake. Cannon has been on a tremendous win streak in recent months with wins over Shane Hollister, "Mdogg20" Matt Cross and even a pinfall victory over Black in a six man tag match. No doubt Tyler Black is one of the fastest rising stars in the industry but one has to wonder where his head is at heading into this important match after just dropping the Heavyweight title. Expect a hard hitting, exciting match up here as both men will pull out all the stops to be next in line for the winner of the Jay Bradley/Colt Cabana match up. AAW TAG TEAM TITLESTHE PHOENIX TWINS (c)vs ZERO GRAVITYA battle of fan favorites as the Phoenix Twins are coming off a much talked about battle against Shane Hollister and Mdogg20 last month and now put the belts on the line against the red hot team of Brett Gakiya and CJ Esparza. Lots of action expected here as the Twins look to ground the aerial assault of Zero Gravity and once again leave Berwyn with the AAW Tag Team Titles. CHALLENGE MATCHvsShane Hollister has had one impressive outing after another this year in AAW coming within a hair of defeating Arik Cannon for the Heritage Title and last month teaming with Mdogg20 to take on the Phoenix Twins in an incredible twenty minute draw. Hollister is still looking for a big win in the singles division and he will get that chance when he takes on the Cleveland area stand out Johnny Gargano. Gargano makes his AAW debut on May 1st and is looking to jump right into the title picture with a win over one of AAW's most established stars. This one could be the show stealer. THE AAW DEBUT OF IRISH AIRBORNEThe tag team division is about to get a lot more interesting with the long awaited debut of Dave and Jake Crist; The Irish Airborne. The Airborne have been making a name for themselves across the country for the last few years and finally arrive in AAW looking to take on the best teams in the Midwest. Irish Airborne has an open contract for "Point of No Return" and you can be sure the AAW Tag Team Champions The Phoenix Twins will be watching their AAW debut intently . TAG TEAM GRUDGE MATCH"THE HOUSE OF TRUTH" w/ Truth Martinivs A grudge match that was supposed to go down last month until Truth Martini pulled his men from the card and hired American History Next to take out Young and Lawrence. Silas is looking to get a piece of his long time rival Josh Raymond and Lawrence wants retribution against the House of Truth for taking him out of action last year and cutting his trademark long hair. Nowhere to run for Martini now as Jim Lynam has ordered this match happens at "Point of No Return" or Martini will be suspended. ALSO APPEARING:DO NOT MISS THE KICK OFF TO A HUGE WEEKEND OF WRESTLING IN BERWYN IL AND FIND OUT FIRSTHAND WHY AAW IS………PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING REDEFINED AAW: Professional Wrestling Redefined presents Point of No Return '09 Friday May 1st 7:30pm Berwyn Eagles Club 6309 W. 26th St. Berwyn, IL Doors Open at 6:45pm $15.00 Front Row $10.00 General Admission $1.00 Beers at the bar

I know I'm completely biased but, I'm pretty sure not many people would argue, to do an article on tag team wrestling in the area and not include the Phoenix Twins or the Northstar Express is a little crazy.
