There was a reason the show was not posted on this board. It was to avoid the drama it sometimes creates. Let's be honest...this board is filled with mostly workers, and workers with fake names. I'll give you that point about the flaming and drama. But I'm no worker, and neither is slacker. To do all the social media and not take advantage of this free site where lots of fans hang out and not draw attention to your show is silly. If anything, the flaming and drama would have probably drawn more eyes to your show, if not paying fans. Any attention better than no attention. So you're starting a new company, you need to get the word out and you don't take advantage of this free avenue to do it and let somebody else not affiliated with your group post the info here instead of taking the initiative and doing it yourself? Especially when I go to AAW most of the time. What if I had posted bad info? What if I had said the show was off because the Eagles Club has a mice problem? (It doesn't really, but it is plausible.) I should have clarified: You are promoting. In other venues. You made a conscious decision to not take advantage of this free resource to plug your first show, your first, best, and maybe only chance to get fans to try your product. You let somebody else spread the word and take the risk of sending out bad info. That's promotion, true. In my opinion, that's not great promotion. Granted, I am partial because I'm one of the frequent posters here. I've had a hand in building this place as a place where the scenesters can get together and talk rasslin. I find out a lot of info here. To have a fed avoid this place because they're not happy with the controversy or the negative talk is baffling to me. I felt the same way when Blitz boycotted the site, even though I've never been to their shows. You don't want negative opinion? It's pro wrestling in the internet age...you're going to get it. It's inevitable. Just put your head down and do the best you can to put the best product out there. That's how you shut the critics up and avoid the drama. I'll have to come out for one of your shows. Best of luck to you. I'm done.

you are upset because APW didnt promote their shows on this board, but went almost everywhere else? it has been said before promoting on this board does not really increase the crowd. besides if they would have promoted on here some would not even give them a shot because they were running in AAW's "home" so it would have been pointless because of the people who think only AAW should run in the building

you are upset because APW didnt promote their shows on this board, but went almost everywhere else? Yep. Got to take advantage of the free way to promote. As of this typing, their FB page has only 65 likes. Their Twitter has 28 followers. Their Youtube has 6 subscribers. This site has hundreds of people looking at it. Hundreds > 65. Do the math. Perhaps it doesn't boost the gate. I certainly wouldn't use this site only instead of flyers/ads/etc. But it's better than nothing. True, I'm not a big fan of them running the same building, but they need to target people here who don't care about that, (Tristan Hayze fans, for instance) and any pub here is better than not posting. I never said I wouldn't go see them in Berwyn, but if they're going to come into a building that's already been an established home for another promotion, they might as well come in guns blazing and doing EVERYTHING they can to draw an audience. Maybe THEY can rent a tank, send it to the Club before the 9/30 show and "fire the first shot in the war against AAW" for Berwyn supremecy, DX-style. Would sure get some attention. But AAW would probably send Eastman out to dance on the tank or Keith Walker to crush it, so it could get ugly fast.

Hello. In the interest of transparency, I am Derek St Holmes, Esq. who does commentary and works for AAW. For the record, I would like to state that Anarchy sells out the Eagles Club every time out, but I hope they can do it with an entirely different group of fans and workers than AAW. There is an intelligent, professional way to do this. This would be benefical for the following reasons: 1. Both feds can make money 2. The Eagles Club, seeing the revenue that wrestling generates, will be more likely to host wrestling in the future, with more bookings for all involved 3. most subtle, two feds being able to sell out the building would suggest there is still an untapped market out there for different styles of pro wrestling, and the business would be larger all round.
...but, I'm willing to guess wrestling will break my heart yet again.

If you haven't seen it already, my latest Pro Wrestling Extra article on my Elaborating on Entertainment blog includes comments from AnarchyPro's "SuperBad" Santana Starks about this show. You can check out the blog article at this link, where I hope you will leave a comment: blogs.southtownstar.com/entertainment/2011/09/pro_wrestling_extra_convos_w_a_1.html Feel free to pass along the link to others who you think might want to share their comments about this topic. A few notes about using the "Leave a comment" feature on the blog:-- While there is a field asking you to provide your e-mail address, that e-mail address will not be shown to the public once your comment is posted. -- The grey Captcha box sometimes trips up people because it's hard to see and very particular about the characters being typed in exactly. To be on the safe side, you should copy your text elsewhere before hitting the Submit button in case the Captcha kicks out your comment. -- If you've used the "Leave a comment" feature correctly, you'll get a message saying that your submission is pending approval. Note: I approve all non-spam comments as soon as I see they have been submitted.

Hi, I am Chris Styles, who wrestles for PCW and who used to wrestle in AAW forever ago. I worked the first Anarchy show, but wasn't booked on this one, so I feel like I'm pretty impartial on the subject. Having worked in that building more than a few times, I'd have to say that the count (close to 200) is probably pretty close to accurate. Regarding whether they should run there or not, Derek St. Holmes is, as always, the voice of reason. The products of the two companies are pretty different, and there's no reason why both companies cannot run the same building, sans conflict.

If they had 200 there the first show they lost more than half thier crowd because I stopped in the front door tonight and chatted with Percy and there was right around 75. I counted three times. Also are they flyering at our shows? I am hearing conflicting reports on that one. We will go on doing our thing and they will go on doing whatever it is they do (I didn't have time to watch much of the show but Eastman will be happy to know there was a little poerson involved in the segment I saw). Time to let it die.
