You mean they who lost popularity because they're wrestlers tortured a monkey? Right, Dragon Gate guys did that. DGUSA was going to be a sperate company with the best Indy guys intermixed with Dragon Gate guys. That went really well. True. However there is a little more to this than meets the eye. From this mess came World Wrestling Network. Seems like Gabe is running a second promotion Style Battle which is also part of the Network, alongside Evolve, SHINE, American Combat Wrestling, Full Impact Wrestling and a place called Viva La Lucha . As those who are part of this network keep going to NXT and are on the radar of some top promoters... I'll give Gabe a little more credit.

Most are already working big indys, internationally and/or dark matches for WWE before they are ever booked for any of Gabe's promotions

Remember, this fed will charge you an extra $5 at the door and not advertise that they are doing so. I thought the same and was shocked when the actually answered me on their Facebook page about ticket pricing: "There are processing fees charged by the ticketing company. Tickets normally are $5 more day of show."

But yet the paper ticket at the show still says $20 even tho I paid $25 in August....shouldn't the paper ticket include it in the price when you buy at the door like every other sporting event?

I'm kinda shocked that Evolve is a thing. Without the WWE they could never absorb all the losses.

Just trying to update about a non-WWE show, but you're right. It's basically WWE supported. Gabe's on the payroll.
EVOLVE Champion Fabian Aichner defending against AR Fox.
WWN Champion JD Drake defending against Anthony Henry, Austin Theory (w/ Priscilla Kelly), and Harlem Bravado in an elimination match.
Mustafa Ali vs. Darby Allin.
Montez Ford vs. Shane Strickland.
Angelo Dawkins vs. Josh Briggs.
Isaias Velazquez defends against GPA for the Freelance Wrestling title.
Jason Kincaid vs. Barrett Brown.
Also: The Skulk, Kassius Ohno

A superfan I know from Indiana told me that the the show has been good so far. The gym is blocked off with a crowd of 200-250. I would have gone but I had something else to do.
He also is a fan of Rosa's Pizza which is nearby and he went to when ROH ran in Chicago Ridge. I've never been to Rosa's.

So with their WWE NXT lite roster, 2 of whom have drawn pretty well in Chicago, Gabe and Evolve drew the same as the local shindies.

Building was at capacity and people were actually turned away,(saw it with my own eyes) there were lots standing. Not sure what capacity was (my guess is over 1000).
