This is one of our biggest shows of the year and here are some of my thoughts:
- This is Tyler's 1st shot at the belt in a 1 on 1 match since he lost it to Marek Brave in November of 2006. This is the biggest match in the history of the AAW Heavyweight Championship. It could go either way.
- AOD will be defending their tag belts for the 1st time after their shocking victory on June 21st. I'm glad to see them as champs. The tag division gets better and better. These guys are at the top of their game.
- There are 2 matches that could steal the show. Josh Raymond vs. Silas Young and The Phoenix Twins vs. The Northstar Express. Josh vs Silas is a huge matchup right now in AAW. Both of them used the Fate of 8 tournament to elevate themselves to the top of the contender's heap in AAW. The Twins are out for blood and a strap match is the stipulation. This one is going to be brutal.
- The one match that really hits home for me is Eric Priest vs. Chandler McClure. This is Priest's final wrestling match. Chicago is really losing a great one. I've been around for over 5 years now and I can think of only a handful of shows that I haven't done with Priest. From MCW to MSPW to NWA Midwest and now AAW, we have worked together for a long time. He is responsible for a lot of what I know. For those of you who have or haven't seen him work, this is your last chance to come out and say goodbye to one of Chicago's mainstays.
- If you haven't seen AAW in a while or not at all, come to this show to check us out. The company has grown by leaps and bounds in the last year. There is something special going on in the Berwyn Eagles Club. Check it out. You WILL get more than what you pay for.

I'm off work next Saturday, so I will be there. Priest was the first major heel I saw at my first indy show back in Dec 01 at the Cubby Bear, and he's pretty much the only one left from that era.

Priest is awesome but I do agree that his time has past. This will be history in the making for AAW and I will try to be there if nothing comes up. Do wrestlers ever really retire though? Priest is still young and it will probably only be a matter of time before he shows some interest in getting in the ring again. Then we will be presented with a surprise return from " The Underwear Model "
If I could believe that this was a real retirement then I would have to say that this would be something I could not miss for any reason what so ever.

I've been wanting to check out an AAW show for a while and this looks like the perfect night for it.

I'm not sure I believe this is Priest's last match (just becuase he really is still young and eventually might want to come back...plus he was on the MCW shows back when I became an indy fan and it's strange to think of a scene without Priest). That said, I'm going to do what I can to make it out to my first AAW show to see his sendoff.

Saturday July 12th is the day every AAW star and every AAW fan has had circled on their calendars all year. Saturday night AAW presents the 4th annual "Scars and Stripes". This is the show where issues and feuds will end and new ones will begin. This years Scars and Stripes promises to be the most emotional and riveting show in AAW history as a star says goodbye and a young man looks for redemption and his second AAW Heavyweight title. Let's take a closer look at the card that is highlighted by a double main event. MAIN EVENT- AAW HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE
JERRY LYNN (c) w/ Jim Jesus
vs TYLER BLACKThroughout 2008 Tyler Black has scratched and clawed his way back to this title shot. He has put to rest the demons of his feud with Marek Brave after defeating him last month in the "Stairway to Hell" match. He has one last man in JJ Inc to defeat and that man is the AAW Heavyweight Champion Jerry Lynn. Lynn has held the title longer than any other champion and has gotten past every challenger put in front of him with the help of Jim Jesus and JJ Inc. In April JJ Inc held a beaten Tyler Black as Lynn slapped him in the face and proclaimed "You will never get this title from me because wrestling is MY life!". At the close of last months show Black called Lynn's integrity into question when he said to beat him Lynn will have to be the champion he "used" to be. For Black, he must defeat the man he looked up to for so many years and for the champion he will have to dig down deep and pull out his best effort in years to turn back the challenge of one of the fastest rising stars in the industry. The stage is set for what may be the most exciting AAW title match in history! MAIN EVENT- FARWELL MATCH- LAST MAN STANDING
"The Gold Standard" ERIC PRIEST
vs "The Miracle Man" CHANDLER MCCLUREEmotions will be running high as Eric Priest steps into the ring for the final time to seek revenge on the man who has cost him not only the AAW Heritage title but also his shot at the ultimate goal of the AAW Heavyweight belt. McClure has been a thorn in Priest's side ever since recovering from his various "injuries" earlier this year. His interference cost Priest his one year win streak and the Heritage title in February. Priest got a measure of revenge when he posed as the "Golden Vampire" and defeated McClure in May. The issue looked to be over as Priest focused on Jerry Lynn. "The Gold Standard" had already announced he did not have much time left in the business and needed the AAW title to complete his career. That dream was taken away from him when McClure and his new protégé Jordan McIntyre cost Priest the title which leads to this match on Saturday night. Priest demanded McClure face him one last time and McClure accepted adding the "Last Man Standing" stipulation. Look for both men to pull out all the stops in this one as the match will go on until one man cannot answer a ten count. Priest has promised that not only will his career come to an end on Saturday but McClure's will as well. Win, lose or draw Priest's legacy in wrestling has been cemented but the "Gold Standard" wants to prove to himself and everyone else that his body can make it through one more match. AAW HERITAGE TITLE
KROTCH (c) w/ Nikki
vs JIMMY JACOBSLast month Krotch once again defied the odds and walked out of the Eagles Club with the Heritage title. Jimmy Jacobs started the evening by confronting the legend himself Terry Funk. After an altercation in the ring Funk returned later in the night to nail Jacobs with a DDT and allow Krotch to cover him for a three count. Krotch's night was not over as the match was a three way dance and he still had to defeat his old rival Arik Cannon. After Joey Eastman and Nikki both got involved Krotch was able to pull of the upset and pin the "Anarchist" to become the new Heritage champion. The party may be over for the youngster now as Jacobs has immediately used his return match clause and will meet the new champion at Scars and Stripes. Jacobs has promised that not only will Krotch's title reign be the shortest in AAW history but he will also be punished for humiliating him last month. ADRENALINE OVERDOSE WILL DEFEND THE AAW TAG TEAM TITLESBryce Benjamin and Shane Hollister stepped up to the plate last month when Dash Phoenix was injured at the hands of the Northstar Express and Joey Eastman and defeated them to become the new AAW tag team champions. Saturday night this exciting young team will put the belts on the line for the first time and have an open contract. The tag team division is deep in AAW and whoever is awarded the title shot will be ready. Expect the kind of great tag team action AAW has become known for in this one. GRUDGE MATCH
JOSH RAYMOND
vs SILAS YOUNGA highly anticipated rematch of the "Fate of Eight" finals as the man formerly known as Josh Abercrombie does battle with the highly talented Silas Young. Raymond has done a complete turn around since using a low blow to defeat Silas and earn an AAW title shot whenever he chooses. After a vicious attack on Silas the rematch has been signed. Both of these men are now in a position to cement themselves as main eveners in AAW and this match may be the show stealer. Their match at the Fate of Eight was an excellent contest and now that it has become personal this match will definitely be more intense. LEATHER STRAP MATCH
THE PHOENIX TWINS
vs THE NORTHSTAR EXPRESS w/ Joey Eastman A long standing feud between two of the top teams in the country comes to a head this Saturday. After the Twins dropped Joey Eastman as their manager and humiliated him, Eastman had been plotting for retribution. Last month the Twins were ready to cash in their title shot when they were attacked by the NSE and whipped with Eastman's leather belt. Dash Phoenix was then held by Corbin and Cruz as Eastman gouged his eye with the belt buckle. Now these four men meet in a leather strap match with the Twins looking to settle the score once and for all. Both teams want to get back in title contention but you have to wonder if the injury to Dash Phoenix will give the Northstars the advantage in this one. CHALLENGE MATCH
EGOTISTICO FANTASTICO
vs RYAN BOZThis match came about after a confrontation in the lockeroom a few weeks back. Boz warned Ego if he had a problem with Jimmy Jacobs we would have to go through him. Ego later cost Boz his match in the "Fate of Eight" tournament and now these two will go one on one at Scars and Stripes. Both men have looked impressive as of late and Ego will need to use his speed and agility to combat the size and strength of the monstrous Boz. For the record, this will probably be one of the best AAW shows in company history. Every feud is coming to a head and everybody is going to pull out all the stops. If you decide to go somewhere else, that's just foolish.

AAW was contacted by Joey Eastman today. He wanted to go over the stipulation with us for his strap match pitting his team of the Northstar Express against the Phoenix Twins.
The match is not going to be a strap match but the losers of the match will get whipped in the ring by the winners with a leather strap.
