I find it funny that they say "authentic" Lucha Libre. While they do use authentic luchadores, I'm not sure if it's authentic to have comedians on the mic during the matches.
That said, I've gone to LVV twice and it's a good time. Just dont expect all that much authenticity. Well, not in the wrestling anyway.

Booking is always a tough situation, one I'm sure Jim Kettner deals with when he does the Supter 8 every year...but it can be done and it IS done. But that's not a multi-promotional deal, is it? I thought it was just an ECWA deal, like TPI is an IWA deal and DDT is a PWG deal, etc.

On a literal level, you cant be better than the best. If you are, you are the best. On another level, it sounds a heck of a lot like CZW's Best of the Best tournament, which is much better known and (even today, when the talent in the tournament is much less impressive than it once was) has bigger stars than this tournament. And finally, it's just kinda weird to call something "Best" when the guys in the tournament arent even the best guys in the area.

Wait, what?
The show is going to happen, but you're not going to tell people about it beforehand?
Weird.

This is such a bad name for a tournament on more than one level.

I saw an awful Bradley vs Cabana match in MCW in 2002. I have a feeling this one will be better.
Cannon and Black had the beginnings of a match in FSM that turned into Cannon/Josh vs Black/S.E.M. The singles part of the match was really good, and made me want to see them go at it again. I might have to try to get out to Berwyn for this.

Card looks good.
Apologies if this has been asked already (possibly by me), but is this the AAA La Parka Jr or the original guy who now goes by L.A. Park?

Wow, I've never heard of a referee with a name like ANGEL OF DEATH before. Intense.

I'm actually a little more interested in the guys they have between Kamala and Snuka. It seems like they intend on making Boz and Roberts central parts of the fed.
Personally, Boz and Roberts look sort of generic/interchangable to me. Yeah, they have different hair lengths and one has tattoos, but overall they're a couple of well-built (though not huge) shaven serious-looking white dudes. The two guys in the middle of the billboard dont look nearly as interesting as the guys on the ends, and that's not just because of Kamala and Snuka's fame.
If it had been me, I probably would have gotten rid of one of them and thrown Ego up there. Granted, he's also a well-built (though not huge) shaven white dude, but at least the mask would add a different flavor. Jay Ryan is another possibility - his picture in the first post is arguably corny, but it catches your eye.
It's good that they kept it to four guys, though. There would be a temptation to get a ton of people on the billboard, but you dont want to overcomplicate it. I do wonder why they bothered to put "Jay Repsel presents" on it instead of putting "DREAM WAVE WRESTLING" in a bigger and stronger font. I think I'd have gotten rid of the Repsel line, made the DREAM WAVE font stronger, pushed the whole thing up, then made the bottom black part bigger to make sure people see the web address.
All in all, good for them for getting a billboard up. It will be interesting to see to what extent it helps attendance.

Hades gets on the mic and gives kudos to the Soul Touchaz and says it would be an honor to defend his title against either one of them out of respect for them beating him in the tag match. [...] C Red runs and gets Ian and says lets make the match. Marshe & Jazz couldn't agree on who should get the title match so it was left up to the fans. Fans voted during intermission as Jazz and Rocket went around to everyone campaigning for votes. Acid Jazz won the vote by two votes and will face Jason Hades for the IWA Mid-South World Light Heavyweight Title next Saturday night in the debut show at the new IWA Arena. That sounds like a really fun way to interact with the fans at an indie wrestling show. I dig it. T.G.

Let's explain Ego vs Silas. I was contacted initially to help find a building for the show, and to provide Insurance. In order to use it for this show I needed an NWA match on the card. Originally I asked that Quack defend the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Title in order to meet the requirements as I never wanted to take away from the fact that this show was a Chikara show. Quack declined saying that he's only wrestling tags due to the injury he received last year at Ian's TPI. So we decided to put a different NWA match on the show. Ego is our NWA Midwest X Division Champion, and Silas is the NWA Midwest Heavyweight Champion. Ego will be wrestling for the heavyweight belt Silas has. Putting it on the pre show meets the requirements to insure the show, and doesn't interfere with it being an all Chikara show. Hope that clears that up. Odd that he would say that, given that he's wrestling a singles match less than a week later in Joliet (vs. Ricochet at TPI 08). Also, if he's not working singles matches, shouldnt you have a match or tournament to crown a new NWA World Jr. Heavyweight Champ? T.G.

I want to congratulate rage for the longest paragraph in chicagoprowrestling.com history Yeah, that was pretty impressive. I had to hit Page Down five times in order to get past that one paragraph alone. T.G.
