I heard of Lobsterman. The Sterotypical type Promoter who smoked or chewed on a Cigar from back in the day. I miss them but the stories of them all will forever live on. Always some good Nick Gulas stories out there. Of course in the old NWA Detroit territory it was a 2 or 3 times a year occurrence that " Captain Eddie " who was The Original Sheik's ( Ed Farhat ) son would get robbed, rolled, mugged, whatever you want to call it as he would be taking a walk in Downtown Detroit to Deposit the Box Office Receipts and Cash at the Nearby First National Farhat Savings and Loan Bank. What unfortunate Luck that Captain Eddie had. Of course upon hearing the news of the Box Office $ being robbed, Sheik E.F. told the boys that he would have to mail them their peizoffs and Trans $. When Jack Brisco was The then NWA Champion during one of the rare off weeks that the then Champion was given, Brisco went to his bank in Atlanta to deposit a bunch of payoff checks he received and the teller told him that one check was not endorsed. Brisco told the teller he didn't even have to guess which check it was. The payoff check from Sheik E.F. from a Detroit House he did a week or so earlier. It took Brisco over a month he said for Sheik to finally endorse the check and return it to him.

The Pfefer Stories are Gems. I know Tom Burke, good guy. Terry Scholl had a poster from one of Pfefers events he ran at The Chicago Coliseum in the 1960's.
Nick The Bruiser, Hobo Brazil, Gorgeous George Grant, Bummy Rogers, Bruno Sanmartino, and so on. Pfefer would fill up a building using these bogus names while the fans thought that they were seeing the real thing. Around the 2nd or 3rd match the fans knew that they were had. By the time that happened, Pfefer was on his way to the next town. Don Fargo in his book had some good Pfefer stories. The late Bob Til in 85 or 86 did the best Jack Pfefer type promoting at Romeoville HS with " Drill Sgt. " Slaughter as his main event vs The Iran Sheik. Drew over 1000 people and Woody Wilson who looked a little like Sarge was Drill Sgt. Slaughter and after about a minute the fans knew that they were had. Till had his promoters license suspended by the then IL. Wrestling Commission and was up on Criminal Charges from the State. Ugly and Messy.

I like The Misup Brothers a lot, who own this company. Kind of has a Jack Pfefer type style of promoting.

It was great to see so many folks that I haven't seen in years. Tremendous show and turn out. Look forward to next years event. The post show meal and get together at The Moose Lodge was great. Mr. Bill ( Bill Robinette ) long time ring announcer showing pictures of being The White House Santa Claus the last 3 years had to be one of the coolest things I ever seen. The pictures showed Santa Bill at The White House Tree Lighting ceremony with Reese Witherspoon, Mariah Carey, and of course the photos of Bill with The President and family.

Just heard about this event from Kathy Gallo. It will be great to see some old buds. I remember at last years event that Frankie ran I was with Mitch Blake and Cheeks Manson on a rental car shuttle from the MDW Car rental building going back to the MDW Terminal that early Sunday A.M. Mitch and Cheeks were flying to Vegas and I was heading back to Charleston, SC where I was living at the time.

Devils Advocate. If a booking guarantees a pay day for someone who may really need it to put food on the table or pay any other bills then I highly doubt that most workers are going to do a Morality Test on the folks running the Company.
I agree that if they did a scam fundraiser then that should be looked at by Law Enforcement
My book which is completed deals with a situation just like the one discussed. The Dirt Bag we all know as " Skyhova " A Year ago attempted to promote a Fraudulent Fundraiser with my Union at Southwest Airlines TWU555 of which I have been a long time Union Rep. TWU555 sent " Skyhova " a Cease and Desist email to stop promoting a fundraiser of TWU555, that did not have the backing and Support of TWU555. Our concerns were that Skyhova was going to sell tickets for this fraudulent event thru Pay Pal and by Mail Order and pocket the proceeds but he was thwarted in his attempt to commit this crime.
My book which includes my Bio also includes the story of young " Skyler " who will attempt to promote a Fraudulent Wrestling event fundraiser with Disasterous results. Many of you know about the book project I have been working on and hopefully someday if the story of " Skyler " makes it to the big screen I can only see Jonah Hill playing " Skyler "
As I stated a couple weeks back many of you have to remember that the Orgins of Professional Wrestling - Sports Entertainment are from The Carny Industry Still many quality reputable folks but still many scum bags out to make a quick $$ any way they can

I totally agree that if any company runs a Bogus Fundraiser then it is a Criminal Matter. Does that make every worker on this event a Criminal ? It's just the nature of this business. Many of you do not realize that its Orgins come from The Carny Industry.. Every person is not a Refined and Decent person. Every job , profession, in every walk of life has its fair share of decent folks and Scumbags.

Since Al started this Forum many years ago there was and always will be the folks who wish every Chicago Company well and a few that are just the type who wish Ill Will on certain companys. The type of person who just can't wait for that Filthy Rich Relative to die so they can get there Grubby Paws on the Fortune. I wish this company all the best on this upcoming event and future events as well. In fact I wish the very best to every Chicago area Wrestling Company.

Our Bi Polar Pal showed up at both NXT events scouting talent
On a side note I attended both Chicago NXT shows yesterday to scout talent for SKYLINE PRO, LLC. Many superstars were dissatisfied that they have not made it to the main roster and my legal team is working to get their releases granted. Many will soon become exclusive SKYLINE PRO, LLC sports entertainment superstars.

We all age Juan and before you know it Father Time finds us all. It is your choice of which companies you like and dislike I have all the respect in the World for those Pioneers that blazed the trail for what is now known in 2015 as Sports entertainment or Professional Wrestling. I cherish the history of the business and never get tired of hearing and reading the accomplishments and stories of those " Over 40 " My apologies Juan for my cruise control comment

Tom The Cabbie, a driver for many of the boys back in the day texted me earlier in the week and said he attended the show last weekend. He did say that they did the 10 bell salute to Roddy Piper. I'll text him and get some information on the event
