Remember when RCW had talent booked for their shows? There's guys from that line up that I like and consider talented. I think anyone and everyone's first mistake would comparing this RCW to the original RCW. Apples and oranges.

If you're not going to live up to the "legacy" of RCW, then don't call yourself RCW. You're just now a low-rent version of what was once successful.

I'm not defending anyone - either side- on this but I wonder...Why do you use the word "legacy" and then say "once successful". If RCW was as you say it was, something more than a cult following in a little town for a little while, why isn't "RCW" still in business instead of the "imposter"? I mean if jabrones like these guys can put a card together how hard could it be right?
EDIT: I would also like to address something that I didn't notice until I re-read after posting my reply. LS - You stated that this product is a low rent version of something from the past. Are you then saying that in order for this to be up to the past standards the same guys need to be involved? The evolution of pro wrestling obviously lends itself to the young set. Sure we all love Ric Flair and Harley Race, but if they are injured and aged there clearly has to be a transition to another era. I feel your pain that this indeed may not be the "same frat party at your dear alma mater" but let's be real some guys need to graduate and someone has to get hazed.

That was part of my hang up on this whole thing as well, Lar. I'm not going to use words like "legacy" in regards to the original RCW ( I lump them and LWF in the same category - they somehow became the greatest promotions in the history of mankind after they closed up shop). I do find it lazy to name yourself after a promotion that once had a good run in order to get people in the door.

They were gonna call it R -G- W, but the little diddlies on their G fell off, thus the name RCW.
EDIT: Not to mention they wanted to leave the option of bringing Petey Williams in at a later date...
