The training is actually good. The workers are dedicated. There are things to improve on of course.

What training? Where? I'm serious; I would come see one of these shows, but I need a little background first.

Thanks. That is my sentiment. UWC is a good company; just young. Give them 2 years at the most; they will be on top. As I said, the workers are dedicated. They put on a good show. You can start here: uwcnationchicago.yolasite.com/uwc-training-center.phpMany of the top stars in the Midwest have worked in the company or for the company. I'll put Chris Masangcay up against any worker in the Midwest. Punisher 747 is the next big man to take over. I foresee Pun going to Japan to hone his craft and making it big time. I can elaborate more but hey...

If I'm going to drop money on somthing, whether it be a pizza or a wrestling show, I want to to get my money's worth. If these guys were trained by "Jumpin'" Joe Blow, I can pretty much guage the quality of talent and show and will spend my entertainment money elsewhere.

Jak Ferrick wrestled for V.W.A.A. before he left in october, he has also worked for Dreamwave and some scattered indies throughout Illinois and i think started in IUWA before getting actual training at Vanguard. I always thought he had a lot of potential.

I could really care less. I was actually trying to be gentle. Has anyone been to a UWC show and can give an true, brutal honest opinion?

I'm out of here. This issue is not only worth the time, but it's not fair to UWC to highjack their show thread.

I have been to several recent UWC shows. Like many of you, I was skeptical at first that an independent promotion with only a handful of seasoned local talents could make an impact or a believer out of me.
This is a Chicago based wrestling league that has been around for under two years. Their biggest event of the year is Cold War. For nearly a year, the creative department has come up with some amazing story lines to progress angles between main characters culminating in an 8 Man Tag Team Elimination match where the entire company is on the line against one championship belt.
In recent months, Team Dammit and Talento De Barrio have had tag team bouts and encounters that would match the best wrestling that any promotion in Chicago can possibly offer. The interviews, promos, personalities, and angles are all very different and unique. You will not find this arrangement of talent in other Chicago area leagues.
Does this organization have weaknesses? I believe that they have a few. On the other hand, they bring more positives to the table. It's among the cheapest wrestling shows in the area with 2 1/2 to 3 hours of action. The fans of UWC are very vocal and connect easily with each wrestling character. Despite there being several brand new names to the wrestling business on the roster who work at a warehouse with its share of cosmetic defects, the show flows very smoothly, and the stories are told very well.
Youtube has various clips of highlight videos and actual matches that have been recorded that feature many of the talents. This Saturday's show is the biggest in the company's history. Ironically, it could be the last show as well according to the stipulations on the main event: Kevin Ultra's Wrestling Conglomerate???
