TNA started its first of four Midwest area shows last night at the Metro Centre in Rockford, IL. It was a fun evening with many opportunities for autographs.
Here is a quick run-down on the card.
1. Samoa Joe defeated Jeff Jarrett in about 30 seconds. Jeff wasn't going to allow Jeremy Borash to hand out backstage passes but Joe changed all that by winning the match.
2. X-Division Champion Jay Lethal pinned Doug Williams. Very solid match.
3. Angelina Love won over Madison Rayne.
4. Beer Money defeated Orlando Jordan & Eric Young.
Intermission
5. Rhino gored his way to victory over Matt Morgan. Exciting match with the crowd behind both wrestlers.
6. Tommy Dreamer won a Monster's Ball match over Abyss with an assist from Mr. Anderson.

So anchov is now giving "white castle"-like show reports. How about some details on the pre-show meet-and-greet. Was any TNA star signing autographs at the merch table? Did any roster members come out after the show to sign autographs at ringside? Was there a post-show, in-ring photo-op with a TNA star? What was the estimated attendance?

What a debacle that was. We got to see Joe for one musclebuster, we got Tommy Dreamer instead of Anderson, and we got a ridiculous comedy match with EY/OJ vs. Beer Money.
I honestly believe Don West would sell you his shoes off his feet if you had cash in your hand. I understand merch sales are a big boost for house shows, but stop selling me something every 5 seconds, and don't bill yourself as "super fan-friendly" and promise "meet and greets" when it's contingent on buying gimmick stuff.

The pre-show meet-and-greet was pretty questionable. If you bought a $20 program, you could get autographs from whoever was around. Kennedy was in the ring after the show for photos ($20, naturally) and several of the performers did come out to sign for the people who had dumped a ton of cash on merch. I would estimate the attendance at maybe 600ish? I thought I heard someone say something about ticket sales in the 800 range, but that would be a stretch.

Wow, only 5 matches (I don't count a 30 second match as a match).
What were the ticket prices?
Pathetic.

My ringside ticket Sunday cost $52 (plus fees). Have to say this lineup is underwhelming compared to past TNA house shows I've attended in MN. No RVD! No Hardy!! No Pope!!! No Cookie!!!! Hope fans at least got hugs from Orlando Jordan. LOL

Yeah, I paid $50 as well, plus about $12 in fees. Pope was advertised, but no mention of him. Joe was advertised and did about 15 seconds of work and some awful pandering mic time. Thanks, TNA. I sure was thrilled by the surprise Tommy Dream appearance.

Were Earl Hebner & "Shark Boy" the refs?

Earl Hebner was indeed there. Is that Shark Boy? I wasn't aware he reffed, but I could totally see it.

I wonder if the rest of the weekend cards are going to be identical?

"Shark Boy" was one of the refs at the last TNA shows I attended in MN. He was unmasked, of course, and I don't remember if he was introduced by his real name (Dean Roll) or not. Bet Earl got a kiss from either Madison or Angelina. Lucky SOB!

Meltz says Dreamer was added in place of Anderson, who was pulled from the house shows because of some gash in his back. He got it from a chairshot at the tapings.
