First few matches announced in original post.
Also, DREAMWAVE President, JC Costilli, announced that the Illinois Valley's own, Maria Kanellis, will be in charge at "Adversity"! That means Maria will have full match making power over her former hometown promotion!

Good news: I may be able to attend my first-ever DREAMWAVE show this Sat. Bad news: I may have to sit next to anchov. In the words of Dr. Zachary Smith (from "Lost in Space"): Oh, the pain; the pain!

Acid vs Mason Beck: A Story of "Adversity" This Saturday night at DREAMWAVE Wrestling "Adversity", Mason Beck and Acid will be chained together by two dog collars. The man who scores the first pinfall over their opponent will be the winner and the undisputed DREAMWAVE Champion. There will be no count outs, and no disqualifications to hide behind. Outside interference also seems unlikely, as both men will have a weapon in the form of a twelve foot chain, at their disposal at all times. There will be no excuses, no red tape, no smoke and mirrors, just two men in an 18'x18' wrestling ring with a 12', unforgiving steel chain, connecting them by the way of two dog collars. One has to wonder about the mental state of two guys preparing to do battle in a match that is as primitive as any other. Human flesh is the largest organ in a mammal's body, made up of three layers, none of which are made to sustain the force of a steel chain. Being chained up, is a treatment usually reserved for animals, a fact that Beck and Acid are fully aware of. Even for two men who are as tough as they come, the risk vs reward factor certainly has to come to their minds at some point in their preparations for this match. While Acid and Beck share a hatred and disdain for each other, the motivating factor for their training is obvious. The glory and prestige of becoming, or staying, the DREAMWAVE Champion haunts these men daily, like a marathon that never seems to end. Being the DREAMWAVE Champion etches their legacy into eternity at our level of competition. It means more money, more merchandise, more recognition, and a popularity reserved for only the most elite of competitors. There have been only four men who have had the honor of being the DREAMWAVE Champion: Austin Roberts, Nick Brubaker, Jason Hades, and the current champion, Acid. All four champions saw both their public profile, popularity, and income raise greatly after becoming the DREAMWAVE Champion. Make no mistake that everyone in DREAMWAVE Wrestling thinks about and dreams about being Champion. There have been over forty men who have tried out for DREAMWAVE this year, in hopes of merely getting a contract. The locker room is full of fifty more wrestlers who compete each month, train everyday between shows, study film, and do whatever it takes with hopes of one day becoming the DREAMWAVE Champion. Acid's road has been a strange and inspirational one. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, he resurrected his career at a time when many considered him little more than an afterthought. Acid came to DREAMWAVE for what he described as "a couple of more matches", and to accept his entry into the LaSalle Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame. Many looked at Acid's return as a cheap ploy for the promoters to make money off his past successes. Following his return, something happened that perhaps no one expected, Acid kept winning. A more mature, disciplined Acid traded in 450 splashes and moonsaults for a more sensible offensive catalog. Now a family man with a wife and child, Acid found a focus and dedication that was always missing in his previous run. When many thought the sand in Acid's hourglass was running out, he flipped it over and came back better than ever before. This wasn't a Brett Favre in Minnesota or Michael Jordan in Washington comeback, this was a Rocky Balboa comeback of epic proportions. Acid was back, and he fought his way from the bottom of the card to main eventing for the biggest independent wrestling company in the Midwest, all the while endearing himself and reconnecting with the LaSalle faithful that made him a success the first time around. No "Rocky" comeback story would be complete without a muse. If Acid is Rocky Balboa in this story, the muse for his fourth title defense, Mason Beck, is Ivan Drago. The 6'6" Mason Beck debuted in DREAMWAVE at ANNIVERSARY on April 3rd, 2010 in an impressive fashion, and hasn’t regressed since. Beck has never been pinned in a one on one singles match in DREAMWAVE. The only blemish on his record came when Beck was pinned a year after his debut, at ANNIVERSARY II. He lost his Alternative Title to Hammett, in a three way dance which also featured Dan Lawrence. It took two men to defeat Beck, a feat a single man has never been able to accomplish. Mason Beck is a man that deeply believes in family values, almost to a fault. Beck brought in his Cousin Waylon, Cousin Bobby, and his sister, Nikki to form what has been the most successful stable in DREAMWAVE's history. Mason Beck's reign of terror through DREAMWAVE, led by his powerbomb and big boot, have taken him to the doorstep of the DREAMWAVE Championship on two other occasions, only to have it slip away because of outside distractions. Mason has stated publicly that Waylon, Bobby, and Nikki will not interfere Saturday. "There is no honor amongst thieves.", so whether that holds true or not remains to be seen. Dealing strictly in absolutes, we know one thing for certain, if Mason Beck hits the powerbomb on Acid Saturday night, we will have a new DREAMWAVE Champion. Two men, bound by leather and steel, one title to win or lose. Another chapter in a wonderful comeback story, or the continuing ascension of a monster. A story will be written Saturday, who's story remains to be seen. Despite the outcome, when the smoke clears ,we will reflect back on what was a story of "Adversity".
