5. Tweek Phoenix vs Jack Carpenter
Jack Carpenter won the Rookie Gauntlet match last month to earn him a match against Tweek Phoenix. Carpenter mouthed off at some youngsters at ringside. Tweek began the match taking his less experienced opponent to school. Phoenix hollered at the kids who were insulted by Carpenter to go get a cupcake at the food court. Phoenix placed Carpenter into a headlock while one of the young lads smeared the cupcake all over his face. Chocolate cupcake at that. Carpenter looked like a mess. The crowd was cackling at ringside.
After being made to look like a goof, Jack returned the favor by getting the upper hand on his opponent. Tweek received many hard shots by Jack. Phoenix made his comeback and knocked Carpenter to the arena floor. A flying leap off the ropes onto Carpenter rocked the community center. Tweek threw his opponent back into the ring to deliver a swinging neckbreaker. A three count was made.
Winner: Tweek Phoenix
6. Ravishing Ryan Kross & Loverboy Jeff Luxxon (The New Midnight Express Reboot) vs Anthony Antonelli & Alex Bernadino
NAPW's two hottest rookies were teaming up to take on one of the hottest tag teams in the Midwest area. The Midnight Express Reboot had a very successful debut last month when the dominated an impressive tag team in Youth Gone Wild. The young rookies already wrestled earlier in the evening during the ten man Gauntlet match. This was a major test for the two popular rookies against a very established tag team.
Antonelli and Bernadino started the match with a bang. They were in control over the more experienced tag team. Bernadino got caught into an impressive press slam by the powerful Kross. Alex was launched like a missile into the air. The Reboot team made quick tags to soften up Bernadino for the kill. Alex managed to kick out of a powerful fishermen suplex by Luxxon. Kross nailed Bernadino with a stiff clothesline. The youngster finally made the crucial tag sending in a wired up Antonelli. The Italian heartthrob belted both Reboot members with dropkicks. The rookies delivered a double hip toss to the ravishing one.
The ending came when an exhausted Bernadino was caught back in the ring. Ryan Kross delivered a thunderous piledriver. Kross draped his opponent's limp body over the ropes while Luxxon leaped onto Bernadino's back. Game over!
Winners: The New Midnight Express Reboot
*Hats off to both teams for an exciting tag match.
7. The Main Event: The NAPW Champion "The Strangler" Diego Corleone vs "The Hater" Pauly Thomaselli
Last month these two tore down the community center with a 30-minute draw. The big rematch was no exception. I thought this was a better contest. The title match started with classic wrestling holds including arm bars and take downs. Several brawls erupted onto the arena floor. Pauly injured his right arm when he missed a splash into the metal barrier. The champion dominated the match for a while with a pain-full arm bar on his injured challenger.
The finale came when Pauly found himself with the upper hand over the champ. Thomaselli flew full force into the corner for a body splash only to have "the Strangler" pull referee Adam Ross in the way. Ross was squashed by the challenger and placed out of action. Both men were able to make pinning covers but no official to count. Senior official Johnny Swift finally entered ringside through the curtains. Referee Adam Ross was slowly recovering from being plowed by freight train Thomaselli. The two warriors in the ring ended up in a double backslide with each official counting the shoulders down. Swift raised the hand of the challenger while Ross gave the duke to Corleone.
Winner: A DRAW (Corleone retains NAPW Title)
*Pauly demanded a rematch since there was no decision. Derek St. Holmes voiced his opinion about getting a title shot for defeating veteran Matt Longtime earlier in the evening. Commissioner Rockin Randy decided to make a three-way title match for March 17th in Elburn. Corleone will defend against both St. Holmes and Thomaselli in a best 2-out-of-4 match.
*Congrats to NAPW and all the wrestlers for putting on another exciting show at an affordable price for the fans.
*NAPW returns to Elburn on March 17th with Colt Cabana. NAPW also returns to Whiting, IN on March 24th. Please check the upcoming show section on this website or go to www.naprowrestlling.com for more details on matches and tickets.
*The Poisonous Anchovie e-mailed questions to the Midnight Express Reboot for an interview. Once they send them back then the interview will be posted. Also in the works are interviews with Referee Seymour Butts and #1 Cameron Jacobs.
*Glad to hear that Anthony Antonelli is doing better since getting hurt last month. Would love to hear an update on the recovery of "The All American/The Massive Mountain" Michael Mack.
