The final two matches have been signed for the show in Morris:
Delirious vs. "Spyder" Nate Webb
Mickie Knuckles will defend the IWA Women's title against Daizee Haze. We plan on running more shows in Morris if this event in successful and we want to introduce the crowd to a good women's wrestling match so they can look forward to seeing women's matches on the future card. Daizee has not received many title shots of late and this will be her opportunity to regain the title.
Here is the rundown of the remaining already announced six matches:
It's been over three and a half years, but on Thursday night, October 13th, the IWA Mid-South makes its return to Jim Fannin's hometown of Morris, Illinois with a 7:30 pm belltime. The last time IWA Mid-South came to Morris, we set an attendance record with over a foot of snow on the ground. This time around, we hope to see that record shattered.
This show will take place at the Shabbona Middle School at 725 School St. in the big gymnasium. Ticket prices will be $25 for the first two rows, $20 for the third through fifth rows and $15 bleacher seating.
A percentage of the ticket sales will go to the Morris Grade School District #54 and a percentage of the ticket sales will go to the Morris Redskin Football team via the Quarterback Club.
Matches already announced:
***THE LONG AWAITED REMATCH***
SAMOA JOE vs CHRIS HERO - The last time these two crossed paths in an IWA Mid-South ring, they blew the roof straight off the Lincoln Center with booming "LET'S GO JOE, LET'S GO HERO!" chants. What's gonna happen when these two hook up with atleast 4 times that many fans watching? Last year, the crowd was split, but with Chris Hero's recent change in attitude displayed at the TPI this year, anything is bound to happen.
***LUMBERJACK STRAP MATCH - IWA MS HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE***
JIMMY JACOBS (c) vs. "CLASSIC" COLT CABANA - Tomfoolery and shenanigans seem to be the theme of Jimmy Jacobs' six month title reign. Colt Cabana was the victim of Jimmy's shady tactics on night 1 of this year's Ted Petty Invitational. But after the match, Cabana promised to bring integrity back to the belt. Ian Rotten made the rematch on the following night, but this time the ring is going to be surrounded by a handful of wrestlers, wielding leather straps! Jimmy Jacobs has nowhere to run Thursday, October 13th in Morris.
***IWA MID-SOUTH TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH***
IRON SAINTS (c) vs. THE BLACK & THE BRAVE vs. 21 & IRRESPONSIBLE - Vito and Sal Thomaselli will put the IWA Mid-South tag team titles on the line in this three way dance against rookie sensations Marek Brave and Tyler Black and the team of Brandon Thomaselli and Josh Abercrombie. Everyone knows the heated rivalry between the Thomaselli brothers and Sal and Tyler had a great match last week at the Ted Petty Invitational that show lots of interference by Vito. This will be a chance for lots of grudges to be ended in one night.
***TAG TEAM GRUDGE MATCH***
BILLY GUNN/TRIK DAVIS vs TEAM UNDERGROUND ("The Underwear Model" Eric Priest/Chandler McClure) - Now that Trik Davis can no longer team with Ryan Boz, he's gone and found a new tag team partner...former WWE and current TNA superstar BILLY GUNN! Gunn has issues with Priest stemming from previous appearances in IWA Mid-South, and he can't wait to get his hands on "The Underwear Model."
***SPECIAL ATTRACTION***
"ANARCHIST" ARIK CANNON vs "DOUBLE C" CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI - This will be technical wrestling at its best. In other promotions, they've been tag-team partners. But will Arik Cannon be at 100% after the vicious attack on him from Chris Hero at the TPI? Is it even safe having those two in the same building, let alone the same town?
***ONE DEBUT, ONE RETURN***
JUSTIN CREDIBLE vs EDDIE KINGSTON - Making his IWA Mid-South debut, Justin Credible faces off against a returning Eddie Kingston, two days before he and a partner to be announced meet the Iron Saints for the tag titles! What will happen when two of the biggest mouths in professional wrestling collide?
So come on out on Thursday night, October 13th to the Shabbona Middle School at 725 School St. in the big gymnasium and support the schools. Tickets are moving fast, so contact Patti at RottenWife@aol.com or get your tickets through the local fundraiser...also since we are in a school and children will be present, we ask that you all keep it clean. Example: instead of "F*CK YOU HERO," let's go with "YOU'RE NOT MY HERO."
