The comissioner decided to change it to a tag. as he felt there were enough stipulation matches on the show.

I think this new commissioner needs to get his head out of his a$$. You can NEVER have enough stipulation matches...Dukes needs a title shot! The people have spoken!

I agree with the comment on Jason Dukes. This guy has busted his ass, and come a long way. Believe me he'll get his shot.

I'm making an official request that Phil be assigned to ref the midget match. I know he has the comedy chops to hang with the midgets.

Ed, what is/are the NWA affiliate(s) in Japan now? Is it still Pro Wrestling Zero One? And which NWA titles do they carry?

No it's New Japan. Kinda a weird story. Inoki has money in both promotions. Zero One HAD the NWA sanction. A few years ago he decided to move it to New Japan. He pretty much kept the office the same in Japan. Himself, Chono, etc but his son-in-law Simon Inoki ran the show from over for them here in LA with the help of David Marquez. Started up the New Japan LA dojo, etc. Now New Japan has recently been bought out by a giant video game company I believe based in Japan, YUKES. At least I think that's how to spell it. They are undergoing some internal changes in the office which are still going down. Inoki still holds stock, etc along with the NWA membership which he still has on New Japan. Now just before this happened back in & around Oct. Simon Inoki had been appointed to the top position in New Japan, Boss of Bosses. David Marquez took over full charge of all US operations including Inoki giving him full say in all NWA related business period. There were, and may still be negotiations with Zero One to come back into the picture as a second NWA company in Japan. This time as an almost developmental territory for New Japan. So that's the whole story. New Japan has it now, and Zero One may be getting added to the list. Now as far as titles go New Japan recognizes all NWA champions, and has their own IWGP championships which are legend. Zero One I believe still has the Intercontinental belts as we at Reggie Parks made the tag belts so they own those. Now New Japan does have an NWA World Champion on their roster Recently in Tokyo at the Tokyo Dome on the show that Brock Lesner won the new IWGP title that we at Reggie Parks made. Which we were very proud to do as the IWGP has such a rich history. The Champion is the Black Tiger (Rocky Romero). He won the IWGP World Junior title at that event. Now Rocky holds the IWGP Junior title, the NWA World Junior title, and as Rocky Romero in CMLL he has their Junior title as well. New Japan has him defend both belts when he's on tour there. Plus New Japan recently added Italy to their territory, and are interested in funding a company in Australia to add that area as well. There are negotiations on that happening tonight in LA as the Australians have been training at the dojo in LA for about a month now, and their backer arrived earlier today in LA. I happened to be on the phone with Marquez when he was headed to the airport to pick him up. So as you can see alot happening on the Inoki Sports Management from in Japan, and elsewhere.
As a PS: Rocky will be on our show on the 7th in a tag match with Matt Sydal vs "TOO PHAT"Jason Dukes & Delerious. You should stop by. Havent seen you in a long time.

That's some pretty interesting news about NJPW. Inoki has to be in his early 70s now, right? New Japan was the affiliate of the NWA in the '80s and early '90s too? Then they went with WCW. WWWF and then WWF had an affiliate with All Japan...hence the Dynamite Kid and Tiger Mask bouts that used to be on the MSG cards, correct?
I would love to stop by the show, but unfortunately I'm a few thousand miles away in Afghanistan.

Yes Inoki's gettin up there. Not exactly sure on that history as I was on tour doing Rock & Roll during that time frame. I'll leave that to a more informed person here at CPW.com to answer that.
Yeah I guess you can't make it for obvious reasons. Keep your head down & your eyes open. Come home safe.

Now, now play nice. We do have intentions of running more midget matchs in the future. Pehaps Jimmy can work one of them
