OK ... I've got a stupid question that's probably been covered on the board already but I'm sorta' confused: Is SLAM now WAR or are they two seperate companies?

This kinda comes as a surprise to me because I was not contacted by anyone from WAR about wrestling on this show yet I'm on the card. I'm sorry guys but I won't be making this one and whoever told you I could didn't clear it with me.

“PROMOTERS BEWARE” We have the Next Big Thing in Chicago. A 19 year old rookie with an EGO, this guy hasn’t been in the business but a minute and only got his push because of his uncle. “You should be glad you are on any card my friend, especially at the age of 19 at 5-9 and 150 pounds soaking wet. You are right we never contacted you, your uncle vouched for you, being he is a stand up guy, I take his word as good as gold. YOU ARE WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS BUSINESS TODAY, Rookies who don’t pay there dues, set up a ring, or train longer than a year, get there first match and a little push and think they are Rick Flair. Yes I am one to blame as a promoter to allow this to happen. But this mistake will no longer happen. Then you faked an injury and NO SHOWED this past Friday November 23, which was BS, I have a feeling you are making unwise decisions and listening to the wrong outside sources, you are burning bridges left and right, first Sam and now with me, sooner or later you will being sitting all alone. Good luck with all your future endeavors. Buddha Nick Cortese Just my two cents, take them for what they're worth. I don't want to seem like im targeting WAR, cause I'm not. It just happens that I pop my head in on threads where WAR seemed to have said something I don't see as being... well thought out. I'm going to start out by saying that Mora may have been in the wrong by originally bringing this into a public forum instead of adressing it with the promoter OR his uncle first. But as you said, WAR, he's fresh off the bench. I believe that you, being a promoter and veteran, may have done half-wrong in following HIS example of coming into the public forum to berate the young rookie. The statement "I have a feeling you are making unwise decisions and listening to the wrong outside sources, you are burning bridges left and right" was very professionally based and observed. But this and simply wishing him the best doesn't make it more professional after you've publicly bashed him and damaged his professional reputation(whether deserved or not). Mora did not bash your company or you personally. He simply stated that he is listed on a card that he was unaware of, and made it known that he would not be able to attend. As the more experienced individual in this situation, I think you could have handled this situation a little more professionally than did Mora. Again, just my personal opinion. WAR seems to really be picking up business with more frequent shows. Hope this card goes well. Really.

when i came across this post i debated whether or not to chime in. at first i didnt think that i had any business commenting on the situation but when Mr. Mora's credability came into question I felt compelled to defend it. I know I'm gonna have heat for this but at this point i really dont care.
First of all having an EGO and having enough self respect for yourself to avoid being taken advantage of is a completely different thing. You claim that the only reason Mora was getting pushed was because of his uncle. What the hell has he ever done in this business. He's famous for being Hulk Hogan's number one fan. He's a glorified mark. I'm not gonna deny it, I drank his koolaid too and he worked 2 RPW shows but theres a reason why he hasn't been working for me lately. HE CAN'T WRESTLE! What dues has he ever paid? None, yet your giving him main event status, and on top of it putting him over clean on someone like Mora, someone who is dedicated to his craft, worksout, and draws for you. Then you give his paydays to his uncle which never made there way to Mora(So much for being a stand up guy.). That type of booking, that type of mentality, is whats wrong with wrestling today. Mora did nothing wrong. He stood up for himself and rightfully so. What did he stand to gain for being in a program with Chris Sader. Nothing except a possible injury considering you're booking him a street fight with someone who doesnt know what he's doing. Im pretty sure you are referring to me as the "wrong outside source" and I just want to make clear that I had nothing to do with this. Mora made his decision on his own. However, I do support him and applaud his actions, and I will not stand back and watch you damage his reputation. As for paying his dues, I can honestly say that RPW would not be as successful as it is if it wasn't for him. I cant even begin to imagine how many hours he put in with me promoting events, setting up and tearing down all our production equipment, finding sponsors and venues. Your attack on him is nothing more than a desperate attempt to salvage your credability.
Once again I know I'm gonna have heat for this but I look at Jeff Mora as if he was my younger brother and a year and a half ago, when he broke into the business, I decided I would pass down a courtesy to him that was passed down to me by others like Steve Boz, Robbie Dawber, Cameron Cage, and Angel Armani. I wanted to teach him what I knew and guide him in the right direction. Im proud of him for how far he has come and proud of him for standing up for himself.
On a side note Budda, Neither I nor RPW, has ever or will ever "ride on the coat tails of war pro wrestling". Also if the rumors are true and you are the reason that I was not allowed back at the Four Pointe Sheraton because you know someone there and you somehow run a show there again, tell your contact to expect a lawsuit for discrimination. Now I dont think its true and your just trying to toot your own horn but atleast now you're aware of the legal ramifications.

First I will admit I could have gone about this in a better way and I apologize for that. It was a mistake to come on here and tell you guys I couldnt' make the show and now I wish I would have gone about it a different way.
That being said I didn't fake my knee injury. The injury was legitimate. It kept me out of work for a few days and in the doctor's office that following saturday. I contacted someone from WAR, I will not mention names, and informed them of my injury the morning of the 23rd.
I repeatedly told Chris Sader after my injury that I didn't want to wrestle for WAR any longer. I didn't like the way my character was being used and I didn't appreciate how things were handled. I appreciate the opportunity to work for you guys. I wish you all the luck in the world in the future.

From a fan's point of view the audience reaction to Mora speaks for itself! How many attendees did AWA have b4 Sader or Mora? Hmmm, could the numbers give you a clue? As far as his size, AT LEAST HE CAN WRESTLE!!!!! Buddha, what's your weight soaking wet?

I'm glad to see (for the most part) everyone remaining calm and professional. Please allow me to steer this thread off course a bit as I found this part interesting: That's a tough call. What about a business' "right to refuse service"? here's a link"Like many issues involving constitutional law, the law against discrimination in public accommodations is in a constant state of change. Some argue that anti-discrimination laws in matters of public accommodations create a conflict between the ideal of equality and individual rights. Does the guaranteed right to public access mean the business owner's private right to exclude is violated? For the most part, courts have decided that the constitutional interest in providing equal access to public accommodations far outweighs the individual liberties involved."

As a i said, Im not sure if all this is true. However I have heard from other people that War's promoter has been claiming that he is responsible for my denial. The fact of the matter is that the first two RPW events were welcomed by hotel management and I recieved compliments from the hotel manager and an invitation to return again. The aforementioned "contact" is hired by the hotel to monitor the banquet hall being rented. The reason for my denial was that the hotel did not want to host another wrestling show period. Now if War returns, there is some corruption and I assume that would fall under unfair practices and could warrant a lawsuit for discrimination.

they ran there once or twice before over a span of two or three years. Joey Eastman also ran there when he did his benefit show. When I ran there, slam had not been there for atleast a year and a half. I figured the venue was fair game. If they were running there on a regular basis than i would agree with you.
