Note: The show was filmed for DVD release only and will be available at EliteProWrestling.com soon.
The building was only set up to hold 50-70 people and the place was sold out with a hot crowd that was into the action all night.
The show opened with Ben Jordan and Vito Thomaselli coming to the ring to welcome the crowd to the show. Vito announced that he had decided to pull himself out of the main event six-man tag because of a back injury he suffered early in the week. Instead, he would join Ben Jordan on commentary throughout the night.
Jordan and Thomaselli then talked about the ElitePro Dojo Student Battle Royal and introduced the participants. The student's names were taken from the "Lenny's Wednesday Night Bowling League" roster Vito pulled out of his back pocket.
After all the students were introduced and in the ring, Vito announced to them that he had secretly been training two other "students", without their knowledge, and they were also going to be entered into the battle royal.
S. & B. Liger (blatently Sal Thomaselli and Brandon Thomaselli wearing Jushin Liger masks) were introduced, much to the student's chagrin and the royal was started.
Former referee turned wrestler, Martine Jones, was the last student in the ring with S. Liger and B. Liger. The Liger Brothers shook Jones' hand and eliminated themselves, allowing Martine to win the Student Battle Royal.
When Jones' turned to acknowledge the cheers, Sal and Brandon removed the masks and assaulted Jones in the middle of the ring. Vito Thomaselli and Jay Jensen would join in the beatdown until the ElitePro Tag Team champions, Team W.A.R. (Acid & Synn) cleared the ring.
Match #1
"Pure Dynamite" Billy Roc vs. "Mr. M80" Marshe Rockett w/C-Red
Before the match, C-Red took the mic and talked about The Soul Touchaz representing Elite Pro Wrestling in the upcoming CHIKARA King of Trios Tournament in Philadelphia, PA on the weekend of Feb. 28, March 1 & 2. Red pointed out that in 2007, Billy Roc made his CHIKARA debut and was quite successful. Red & Rockett were going to consider Roc a "measuring stick" for what the talent level in CHIKARA is.
The match was back-and-forth as "Pure Dynamite" used his British and Lucha influenced offense to throw off "Mr. M80". After consulting on the outside with C-Red, Rockett was able to turn the tide of the match by using his athleticism and quickness to change the pace of the match. Rockett and Red were even able to use a simple distraction of Roc's attention to help reverse fortunes.
The match was evenly contested throughout and ended when Rockett was able to pin Roc as the two exchanged pin attempts. The two shook hands afterward as a sign of the mutal respect they had for each others abilities.
Match #2
Team Taliban (Jake O'Neil & Mustafa Ali) vs. Zero Gravity (Brett Gakiya & CJ Esparza)
Team Taliban executed their game plan from the beginning, singling out the smaller Gakiya and keeping him from being able to tag out. Ali showed off his impressive athleticism throughout the match, while O'Neil was as vicious as we have seen him in quite some time. It's clear that Ali has already had an influence on O'Neil.
The two high-flying youngsters from downstate Illinois fought hard and didn't give up, but in the end, the cohesiveness of Team Taliban was too much to overcome. The end came when Gakiya was trapped in a camel clutch and O'Neil landed a brutal second-rope dropkick to Gakiya's face knocking him out and forcing the referee to call for the bell.
Team Taliban wasn't satisfied with the simple victory and hit another camel clutch-drop kick on Gakiya. When O'Neil took a chair from a fan in the front row and placed it in front of Gakiya's face (while still in the camel clutch), Jason Hades had seen enough and came from the back to clear Team Taliban from the ring.
Hades took the mic and challenged Ali to fight him one-on-one in Oak Forest on February 2. After consulting with O'Neil, Ali accepted the challenge.
Match #3
J.D. Hughes w/Kimberly Kash vs. Axis
Hughes was looking to get back in the win column after suffering a brutal beating at the hands of Corporal Robinson, and Kash was able to negotiate him a spot on the show. He took on a young man making his ElitePro debut and he goes by the name "Axis".
While Axis fought hard, Hughes used distractions from Kash to his advantage and was able to score the victory with a move he calls "Trauma Time" (Muscle Buster).
Match #4
Jason Hades vs. "The Waterboy" Mike Horning
The are without question two of the most promising young prospects on the ElitePro roster, and they showed why in this battle. The action was fast, stiff and back-and-forth throughout.
Just when it looked as if Hades would get an opportunity to hit The Killswitch and earn the victory, Team Taliban rushed the ring and attacked Hades, causing a DQ.
Match #5
Brandon Thomaselli, Sal Thomaselli and Jay Jensen vs. Team W.A.R. (Acid & Synn) and Martine Jones.
After the two teams bickered and trash-taled back-and-forth on the mic before the match, the crowd was on fire for the entire match.
In the early going, Team W.A.R. looked to be out-smarting their opponents as they kept the student on the apron for much of the opening moments.
Martine Jones proved to be able to hold his own in the match, but the veterans trio of Jensen and the Thomaselli's were able to use his inexperience against him.
The end came when Jay Jensen was able to lock in his "Lights Out" choke-out on Martine Jones, giving his team the victory.
