Results of 3/15 Supreme League of Wrestling show
Dexter Schwartz pinned JT Rain after Cyclone's interference backfired.
Jamal "Soul Train" Jones pinned "The Smooth Operator" Alex Monroe
The Houligans (Mason and Devin Cutter) defeated Cecil Cerveza and Prince Nova
D'Andre King beat Nick Cutler by submission to retain the US title
Bear St. Pierre was disqualified in his match with "Mr. Excitement" Brandon Keith when Brandon tricked the referee into thinking Bear hit Keith with a chair while Donavan Ruddick distracted the referee
The Hybrids (Donavon Cain and Jason Lyte) defeated SLW tag champs The Feature Presentation (Blake Steel and Eric Ruffington) in a non-title match. This gives the Hybrids a title shot in the future.
"The American Soldier" Aaron Matthews retained the SLW championship when "The Future" Donovan Ruddick was counted out while brawling with Bear St. Pierre
A six man match closed out the evening with the winner receiving the SLW Medallion. The match started as a six man elimination tag but after the first two men were eliminated, then it became every man for himself. The teams were "Your Rolemodel" Jef Harris, Cyclone, and Aaron Hollister Hawley against The Hybrid (Donavon Cain and Jason Lyte) and Brandon Espinosa. The order of elimination was Cyclone, Jef Harris, Donavon Cain, Jason Lyte, and finally Brandon Espinosa making Aaron Hollister Hawley the winner of the Medallion.
Next show is scheduled for May 17th

Crowd was good. I estimated about 125 people so they might have to look for a new building to run in if they continue to grow. (I got the last parking space in the lot.) This was the first show I had been to since they went to a six sided ring (like TNA). Best match was probably the Hybrids / Feature Presentation tag match.

I was not able to go to SLW last night due to celebrating a 3rd place finish in the state basketball tournament, but typically mattoon draws anywhere between 120-150.

Best match was probably the Hybrids / Feature Presentation tag match. I'm not one to judge best and worst, but it certainly was the most enjoyable for me. The show would have been better without the main event. It could have been the best six man tag match into an eventual 4 man elimination match ever, but I don't like those types of matches. I was ready to hate it before it started. If you don't count the last match and the first two this show was spectacular and perhaps the best SLW show to date.

I don't mind that style of match but I don't think they gave the elimination match enough time. It only went about twenty minutes so the ending went real quick. (I think the last three eliminations happened in less than five minutes.)

How come you don't hear more about this fed or it's workers in the Chicago area. Do/can these guys work anywhere else? What's the deal?
Honestly I never heard of anyone on the roster and after looking at the myspace page most of them are super skinny kids with baggy pants.
And what's with guys on the indy scene wearing Hysteria's mask?

It's a central Illinois based company therefore they do not run shows in Chicago. It is the same reason AAW does not run shows in Champaign I would imagine.
I was going to defend some of the wrestlers in this post, but it's not my place. If any of the wrestlers wanted to post their resumes to validate themselves to you I'm sure they would. I will say you may be pleasantly surprised at a few of the wrestlers' resumes. Do/can these guys work anywhere else? The answer to that question is broad as it varies greatly from wrestler to wrestler.
I'm interested in seeing your wrestling resume jujujones.

I just figured that since they had a six-sided ring, maybe SLW would be the new hotness. I was just wondering why I've never heard of most of these guys. I've seen The Hybrids on a Elite show..but really no one else. So you mean to tell me that since they are down south I shouldn't hear of any of them? But up north you hear about guys from Indiana, Michagan, Wisconsin, and Ohio? Sure AAW doesn't run down south, but I'm sure people have at least heard of some of their roster. If location was a serious factor, then I shouldn't be hearing about any wrestlers besides in the Chicago Area. I shouldn't know who Nick Brubaker and Bret Galakya (whatever) are. As for my wrestling resume, since when did I say I wrestled? Just because I'm a indy fan that means I can't state my opinon on something? Get real. Oh yeah..I was Heavyweight Champion in WCW/NWO Revenge. There's my resume. What could of been said was: " Alot of them work down south in the St' Louis Area..blah blah blah." To that effect I would have said. "Oh..okay. Cool." But that still doesn't answer my question about Hysteria's mask.

But that still doesn't answer my question about Hysteria's mask. When did you say you weren't a wrestler? I don't really pay that much attention. When did I say you could not state your opinion? I said I would be interested in seeing your wrestling resume. Sorry for assuming you may have been a wrestler. I could have said those things 1)if you already knew them why would I say them and more importantly 2)I don't think most of them work south in the St. Louis area. South is a relative term however. As for Hysteria's mask I imagine he wears it because he can get away with it. I don't know who Hysteria is so I doubt anyone else paying to get in to an SLW show does either. As for why people haven't heard of them. They haven't gotten their names out there yet. Many of SLW's roster, and Central Illinois wrestlers for that matter, are in the early stages of their career. The stars in the other areas that are better known have gained recognition from years of experience and getting their names out there or have been lucky enough to be involved in an organization that gets a lot of coverage. I'm sure there are other people who remember when Tyler Black was a local nobody when he was in the early stages of his career. This is kind of a contradiction because the two names you mentioned are of guys that have, at least in the past to my knowledge, wrestled regularly outside of the Central Illinois area. However, this does not make your point any less vallid.

What could of been said was: " Alot of them work down south in the St' Louis Area..blah blah blah." Only two names regularly work in St Louis, Espy and Ruddick, most of the others I have never heard of outside of SLW and other Central Illinois Promotions. You can buy into MCC's rants and believe they are being held back. My opinion is most of them are pretty happy being in the location they are in and working for who they work for.

On a somewhat related note the Heartland Wrestling Association show coming to Peoria featuring Nigel McGuiness and more should be awesome. More info to come soon.

Honestly I never heard of anyone on the roster and after looking at the myspace page most of them are super skinny kids with baggy pants. And what's with guys on the indy scene wearing Hysteria's mask? I'm having a hard time understanding why any of this matters. Since when does ever fed have to have something to do with Chicago? Before anyone can start wrestling do they have to go to Chicago and put up fliers for themselves? Anybody can work anywhere. At least thats what I thought. They haven't gotten a chance to work Chicago yet.........how dare they even be in wrestling. Who are you to judge the whole skinny baggy clothes thing? You should send Krotch from AAW a PM let him know how you feel. If you are concerned about people stealing other peoples stuff on the indy scene you should just stop watching wrestling all together. Here's my point, You always have to here about somebody for the first time and everybody I don't care who they are have to start somewhere. It does suck that you drove all the way down here and spent your hard earned money to see this show so you can then turn around and question it.............. o wait you didn't.
