UZI AKIVA def. THE BUTCHER w/the beautiful and talented Sam Hart
Butcher brought his A-game but once again fell victim to the mind games of his former partner and nemesis, the PCW champion, Ares. Butcher had control early on, dominating Akiva with side slams, suplexes and powewr slams. Even Sam got into the act, choping Uzi when he was tossed outside. Uzi dodges a plancha and rolled the Butcher back into the ring stripping off his coat to reveal a taped up shoulder from his match two weeks ago, with Jay Phoenix. Uzi attacked the shoulder relentlessly. Butcher seemed to have the upper hand after crotching Uzi on the turnbuckle, but Akiva turned a powerbomb attempt into a hurricanrana. Still Butcher came back with the Diamond Dust turnbuckle stunner and slapped on the iron claw. This is when Ares came out waving his title in Butcher's face. Butcher climbed the turnbuckle, while still applying the claw to yell at the champ, but Akiva took advantage and hit a bridging backdrop off the turnbuckle for the win. As Akiva celebrated, Butcher was inconsolable as his losing streak continued. He asked, "What more do I need to do?" of himself, Sam and the fans.
Gridiron Grapplers w/December def. Matt Creed & "The American Classic" Chris Hamilton
The rookie team of Creed and Hamilton had an excellent showing against the more experienced Grapplers. Creed, the rookie, was on fire hitting leg scissors on both Heisman brothers. Hamilton tagged in and hit a double clothesline on Steve and Joe. Chris hit a fishersman's suplex for two then hit a running splash on Joe. Joe hit a thumb to the eye and both men tagged out. The Grapplers then took over on the rookie, chopping him in the corner and hitting the running arm-drag/helo combo on Creed. Creed fought back with a crossbody but got beat down by both men, with even December joining in with a bash from her pom-poms. The Grapplers his a spiked atomic drop before Matt was able to reverse Joe's powerslam into an inverted DDT. Both partners tagged in and soon Hamilton and Joe brawled out of the ring. Creed went for a sunset flip but Steve dropped down, catching Matt's leg for a three count. As the Grapplers celebrated, the lights dropped and CIA's video played. The lights came back up and the Grapplers were still alone though clearly spooked.
Wally Wilde came out to put Ares on notice for their title match at Dream Night. This brought out PL Myers and Jay Phoenix who challenged Wilde for his #1 contenders spot at Dream Night, this in turn led to Jarod Priest coming out and suggesting a triple threat match:
#1 Contender to Heavyweight title at Dream Night VII
"Party Animal" Wally Wilde def. Jarod Priest & "The Master Technician" Jay Phoenix
Wally and Jarod started by taking down Phoenix with dual reverse elbows and clotheslining the Dream Night champion out of the ring. Phoenix came off the turnbuckle with a flying axe handle only to take a double chop to the gut and get tossed out a second time. Priest then hit a sitdown spinebuster, and he and Phoenix hit dual elbows to Wally's back. With Wally in the corner, Phoenix whipped Priest at Wilde who hit a rolling senton. Priest ducked a clothesline from Phoenix which connected with Wally, Priest then clotheslined Phoenix. Wally fought back with a splash on Priest, but Priest dodged his bronco buster and got cought on the turnbuckle. Priest connected with a running double-leg lift to Wally in the corner. Priest then picked up Phoenix and dropped him so that Phoenix's leg drop hit Wally. Priest then put Phoenix on top of Wally and grabbed Phoenix's legs in a boston crab while grabbing Wally's head in a camel clutch. Phoenix went for a superplex on Priest as Wally hit an electric chair drop on Phoenix. Priest then hit the Omen faceplant on Phoenix, turned and got caught in the W-factor by Wally Wilde. Wally climbed up the turnbuckle and hit the frog splash for the pin.
After the match, JT Simmons and his Public Relations manager, Julia Fox came out. Fox offered Priest a contract, stating that there was strength in numbers. Preist wouldn't have it and tore up the contract, only to turn and get caught with a running flatliner by his ex-partner, former Midwest champion: Chris Styles. Styles then signed up with Foxx, Inc.
TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
Rick Knight/Whiplash vs Body Count (c) goes No Contest
Knight and Whiplash started out hiting a double clothesline on their former manager, PL Myers. Daniel Allure came in and took down Knight, then walked on Rick's back. Rick came back with a running leg line and tagged in Whiplash. Both men took down Body Count, walked on their backs and dropped elbows on Starks and Allure. Knight came back in and leapfrogged over Santana Starks only to catch a superkick from Allure. Knight then got his knees up to block the caterpillar splash. Knight took more abuse from Body Count before tagging in Whiplash. Whiplash hit the michinoku driver on Starks and was about to win the titles, when Jay Phoenix and Ares hit the ring breaking the pin and helping Body Count retain the tag titles. The Connection hand-cuffed Rick Knight to the ropes and placed a chair under Whiplash's knee as Starks slammed another chair down on it three times. The locker room emptied out to chase off the Connection but the damage was done as Whiplash had to be taken to a hospital for medical treatment.
MIDWEST TITLE
"Hot Bod" Shawn Davis (c) def. J.T. Simmons w/Julia Fox
Davis had a plan to ground the high-flying Midwest Champion. He targeted and repeatedly worked over Shawn's left knee. Elbow drops to the knee, leg locks and knee-breakers were seen multiple times as Simmons attacked. The fans quickly broke out a loud "JT sucks!" chant as he did his worst. Davis managed to get to a rope to break JT's STF attempt, but Simmons came back with a neckbreaker. Davis managed to fight back with chops and a spinning kick but kept getting grounded by Simmons. Simmons picked Davis up who turned it into an implant reverse DDT, before nailing his flying elbow for the pinfall.
#1 CONTENDER TO MIDWEST TITLE AT DREAM NIGHT VII
"Feature Presentation" Johnny Mac def. "Pocket Rocket" Eric Marx
Marx took control early on with several headlocks. He ducked a clothesline and delivered a thumb to the eye. He then rested on the turnbuckle ropes to Mac's chargrin. Mac tried to do the same but quickly fell off to a chant of "Johnny Sucks" from the audience. Marx countered out of a tilt-a-whirl slam and kicked Mac in the head, rolling him up for a two count. Getting up with his back to Marx, he delivered a Ric Flair style low blow as he grabbed the ref. Mac came back with a sit down faceplant on Marx. Marx retaliated by coming off the ropes with a crossbody. Mac then got a sleeper on Eric, as Shawn Davis came out to watch who he would meet at Dream Night VII. Marx fought out of the sleeper with a jawbreaker and got a split-legged twisting Senton on Mac for the two-count. Mac climbed the ropes but got taken out by a top-rope arm drag. Mac rolled out of the ring and grabbed Davis's belt and came back in. However Davis grabbed the title and ref Lou Tufano turned to eject Shawn from the ring just as Marc rolled up Mac. By the time Tufano returned his attentions to the match, Mac kicked out and with a handful of tights got the pin. Afterwards, Marx attacked Shawn Davis, before shaking hands with the number one contender, Johnny Mac.
HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH
Ares (c) def Rion Skillz
This match was a classic and easily a highlight in both mens' careers. Ares offered Rion a box of fried chicken as a present to start the match, Rion wasn't impressed but his partner Rik Rockett took the chicken to the back for a late dinner. Rion got a quick roll up for the two count. Ares rolled out of the ring and attempted to leave with PL, but Rion ran after and hit them with the old double noggin knocker. Ares rolled back in and kicked the middle rope as Rion was entering. Ares chopped and punched Skillz's back, before choking him on the second rope. Rion came back and took Ares around the ring chopping and punching him the whole way. Rion caught Ares with a back drop and the big man tried begging off on his knees, but grabbed Rion and sent him into a turnbuckle before clotheslining the former tag team champion. Ares drove his knee into Rion's back and slapped on a leg lock, before standing Rion up and setting him in the tree of woe. As Ares distracted the ref, PL Myers grabbed Rion's head and choked him, before Ares came back with a knee lift to the upside down Rion. Rion was put in both the single-leg Boston Crab and an STF, but each time got to the ropes. Rion was thrown out of the ring and got hit with a kick from PL, as he tried to get back in, Ares stopped him on the outside apron and suplexed him back into the ring for a two count. PL distracted the ref as Ares brought in a chair, but took the chair to the face thanks to a savat kick from Rion. Rion hit a flying leg drop for a two count. Rion went up a second time but Ares recovered and hit a monster chokeslam sending Rion from the top of the turnbuckle to the mat below. Both men got up to their knees and began trading punches. Rion grabbed Ares head and drove it into the mat ten times getting another two count. The end to this amazing match came when Ares reversed an Irish whip and picked Rion up onto his shoulders. He deliever a TKO and pinned this aggresive challenger. After the match, Ares grudginly offered a handshake to Rion, proving that the young man had earned his respect. Rion may not have won the title but he left to the cheers of the fans showing that he's won their respect.
