I think it's more than me getting antsy. When I started to go see the shows at the Congress I was told that they would be "Free" only to get to the door and have someone charge me five bucks to get in.Ok I can afford five dollars but if it was going to cost five dollars SAY IT'S GOING TO COST FIVE DOLLARS!!! I have also heard rumors that this show will only be free if you already have a pass to get in that is given away at certain record stores like it was last year.and that there will be a cover charge at the gate.Again I have no problem paying to get in within a reasonable charge but TELL US THAT IT'S ONLY FREE WITH A PASS IF THAT IS THE CASE. Is it too much to ask that the local lucha promotions be honest with their fans and charge reasonable ticket prices? How do they expect to get our repeat business if they treat us like suckers rather than customers? Of course every time someone calls them on this sort of stuff we are accused of attacking them and called cry babies.Look if the local lucha promoters can't take fan criticisms on this board maybe they should stop posting here.

Well if there is a ten dollar charge why did the original poster of this thread say it was free? I am not complaining here just trying to get an explanation so accusations don't start up again.

If indeed there are free passes where does one get them?

I think the "free" show is no longer that.
I purchased a ticket at RITMO LATINO,located at 26th and Lawndale in the Little Village neighborhood, for seventeen dollars. The ticket says ten and I am assuming the seven dollars was a fee the store charges for handling the sale.Still cheaper than Ticketmaster and prefferable to not being able to purchase a ticket the day of the event because they're sold out or already had their maximum occupancy limit or whatever.

By the way I talked on the phone to one of the persons in charge of booking the wrestling talent for this show and he was surprised when I asked him about the ticket prices. All he said was "I was told it was free".Please keep in mind the people putting on the wrestling portion of this show aren't in charge of the entire show and have no control over wether or not the show is "Free" or if there is a charge to get in,though I think my last post confirms that there is indeed a fee to get in.

OK Here is the latest info I have been able to garner from an OFFICIAL source:
The price of admission is "ten dollars" in pre-sale [though as I have already stated some places are chargin a handling fee.Gee maybe I should have called that number listed above in an earlier post. However the day of the event at the door the tickets will be TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS. So my advice,if you want it cheaper get them pre-sale.
Though the doors will open a bit earlier [probably about 3pm] the actual show will not start until 5 PM with the wrestling running from 5pm to 7pm aprroximately and the rock and/or roll bands playing from 7pm until closing.
The semi main event match will be a mixed mini match with Pierrotito on the rudo team and MASCARITA DORADA on the tecnico team.I emphasize MASCARITA DORADA because someone mistakenly reported back to Mexico that they had announced Mascarita Sagrada and the guy wasn't happy about that.So to clear the confusion up it is MASCARITA DORADA that is booked and apologies to Mascarita Sagrada. The promoters have no intention of using his name or likeness without his consent. It's a shame he received erroneous information but hopefully the matter is cleared up now.
The main event will have Super Parka on a tecnico team vs a rudo team headed by Atlantis. Now to clear up the whole Dr Waagner matter up.This show has been in the planning stages for at about two or three months now, probably more. When the promotion set to book th wrestlers they went straight to CMLL.At the time Wagner was part of CMLL.So they asked for Wagner and Atlantis and everyone agreed and signed on the dotted line. The problem was that a few weeks later Wagner and CMLL parted ways and CMLL has prohibited CMLL workers from doing shows with Wagner.Since money has already been paid upfront this left the promoters with the hard decision of having to cut Wagner from the show, since it was preferrable to lose the up front money they paid one wrestler as opposed to losing the upfront money they paid three other wrestlers [Atlantis,Dorada and Pierrotito].However since CMLL books their talents months in advance it was very difficult to find a substitute in time for the show. They finally managed to get Super Parka who didn't have any booking commitments that date.So please don't anyone get angry at the wrestling promoters because they promised Dr Wagner Jr and didn't deliver. They signed him through CMLL in good faith and when Wagner split from CMLL it was very unexpected and credit has to be given to the promoters for booking Super Parka in his place.

Thanks for the update. It's nice to know that there are people that want to keep their fans informed about what is happening and why certain things happen rather than keep us in the dark and expect us to accept whatever main event they give us.Some people may think of me as an ass but look at it from my perspective and you can see why I get frustrated.I am sick of going to lucha matches and not getting what I paid for.I am annoyed I won't get to see Wagner but at least this information clears up why he won't be there and the promotion felt they owed it to the fans to explain why he won't be there as opposed to some of the shows at the Congress where promised main eventers don't turn up and then no explanation is given to why they aren't there and instead of another name wrestler as a substitute they just put in a local guy as a replacement, yet they still charge us the same ticket price as before.I won't go so far as to say I am a big fan of Super Parka but at least he has name value more or less and the pre-sale ticket prices [even with handling fee] are more than affordable.

Well buddy you aren't the only one who is frustrated. The person I talked to was also frustrated with the situation with Wagner and CMLL. They have also been frustrated due to some immigration issues that have been plaguing various name independent luchadores such as Santo and Blue Demon making it hard to book them [apparantly this situation may have already been resolved].They are also frustrated that to book CMLL talent they have to call three months in advance and then there is no guarantee they will get the wrestlers they asked fo,as the situation with Wagner has clearly illustrated. So Charlie you aren't the only one who is frustrated.Sometimes the promoters can't give us fans the type of shows we want to see because of events occuring south of the border and they get frustrated as well.Try to cut some of these people some slack. There are people striving to put on worthwhile shows but sometimes circumstances work against them.See you next week at Garibaldi!

I understand Dr. Wagner is off of the card for sevral reason one of them he ask for too much money and hi's back at CMLL but isn't fair do things like that. I don't blame the promoters wrestler hove no word far I know Tinieblas o Super Parka take his place, What some fans says the show is not free so for the people who don't like pay is better stay in home

Wags being back in CMLL is news to me.
I don't think anyone here is complaining about having to pay ten or seventeen dollars to get into the show. However it is annoying when the show is first announced as free and then the people who are putting on the show change their minds and apparantly don't bother to inform the fans, the fans have to find out through their own means.I understand that the people doing the wrestling part of the show had nothing to do with this and have already pointed this out.
