On April 17, 3XWrestling presents "April Showers...of POWER!" live in Des Moines, Iowa at our amazing new home for 2009, the Des Moines Social Club. Doors open at 7 p.m. for a 7:30 p.m. belltime.
Our most recent event, "Paint the Town Green!" was the debut of 3XW at the Des Moines Social Club. Approximately 150 fans packed into the Subjective Theatre to watch the most professionally produced event in 3XW's three-and-a-half year history. Among the enhancements made to help fans enjoy 3XW events:
As far as a live show goes, the new enhancements make a night and day difference toward making each event feel extremely important and professional. Words alone can't do it justice - if you've ever been to a single 3XW event, I highly encourage you to return once again just so you can see how much everything has changed.
As for what to expect on April 17th, the current card is as follows:
Main Event - All titles on the line!
"Delicious" Devin Carter and Tyler Cook vs. 3XW Heavyweight champion Casanova and 3XW Pure champion "The Rebel" Jeremy Wyatt
- 3XW's two most brutal feuds collide as Carter and Cook look to not only win back their respective gold, but gain a measure of personal revenge on their former partners. If either Carter or Cook pins or submits Wyatt or Casanova, they win the championship of the titleholder they defeat.
MWR "Midwest Best Series" match sponsored by MissouriWrestlingRevival.com:
3XW Cruiserweight championship - "The Rockstar" Jimmy Rockwell defends against the aerial assualt of Mike Sydal!
- Rockwell has been on a roll as of late, defending the title against the likes of Jaysin Strife and "The Unbreakable" Zach Thompson. Sydal, the brother of WWE star Evan Bourne, is currently ranked as the No. 1 contender for the gold. Representatives of Missouri Wrestling Revival will be on hand to witness the second "Midwest Best Series" match held in 3XW, joining the awesome Tyler Cook vs. Shane Hollister match held in fall 2008. A DVD of every match in the series will be available later this year.
Singles Battle!
"Torturous" Tony Sly vs. Maddog McDowell!
- Coming off losses to Carter and Rockwell, Sly tries to snap his recent losing skid against 3XW's biggest athlete in a match that will have a major effect on the rankings of the heavyweight division.
The Northstar Express return!
- We haven't seen the Darin Corbin and Ryan Cruz in action together since Corbin suffered his scary knee injury at "Clobberpalooza Classic" in September. Will they finally get their revenge on The Gentlemen's Club for ending their 20-month reign as 3XW Tag Team champions or has time healed all wounds?
Also in action: "The Anarchist" Arik Cannon, 3XW Tag Team champions The Gentlemen's Club - Gage Octane and Mark Sterling w/ Todd Countryman, Kraig Keesaman, Sexy and Smooth - "The Canadian Sex Icon" Ryan Slade and A.J. Smooth, "The Unbreakable" Zach Thompson, Kwongercricket - "The Asian Sensation" Ricky Kwong and "The 80s Pop Icon" Donnie Peppercricket, and pro wrestling's biggest fan of "The Price is Right" Aaron Masterson!

- over double the previous amount of speakers in use and enhanced sound equipment. From my vantage point, everyone sounded incredibly clear on the mic while speaking, which has been an issue in the past.
- an actual stage lighting system. These means there is now lights specifically above the ring for ring lighting and a separate set of lights, including a spotlight and strobe lights, for the entrance way. When wrestlers entered the arena, only the the entrance lights would shine on them and the ring lights were off, making the entrances look incredibly cool.
- The venue itself - large enough to hold a couple hundred fans, but in an incredibly intimate setting and all fans were provided with really comfortable, older-style office chairs.
- The ring has been upgraded, including green turnbuckle pads that spell out 3XW vertically, a letter/number per turnbuckle. The aprons also now green text that reads "3XW" and "3XWRESTLING.COM"
- All the sound, lighting, "hard" camera and commentary equipment that myself and Chad Mylan use for the DVDs but record live during shows is located in a fantastic "crow's nest" about 20 feet above the arena. We can see out over the entire ringside area thanks to two large square cutouts and one smaller cutout where the camera is placed. It gives us a "press box" effect and provides the fans much more room to maneuver on the floor due to less equipment being in the way.
