It's that time of year again. We are a few short weeks away from AAW's marquee event, The Windy City Classic VI. Over the years the Classic has been filled with some of the biggest happenings and memories in AAW. As we get closer to the 6th Anniversary of the the event let's take a look back at the history of the Windy City Classic. *(All of these shows are available on DVD at www.AAWrestling.com ) November 26th 2005, AAW holds the inaugural Windy City Classic. Widely regarded as the show that put AAW on the map, Keith Walker defeats Robert "Ego" Anthony to win the AAW Heavyweight title. After months of build up "The Franchise" Shane Douglas takes on Eric Priest. Colt Cabana comes to AAW and has a memorable match against Jason Dukes. In the main event Jerry Lynn defeats Brad Bradley. To top it all off, Jimmy Jacobs shocks the wrestling world and wrestling fans nationwide become aware of AAW- Professional Wrestling Redefined. November 25th 2006, The Windy City Classic II. Egotistico Fantastico defeats Danny Daniels in his farewell match before heading to WWE developmental. Silas Young and Ace Steel put on a clinic as they wrestle to a time limit draw. Feuds are settled as Zach Gowen teams with Dan Lawrence and Ryan Boz to take on The Michigan Invasion in a wild Berwyn Street fight. Marek Brave defeats Tyler Black for the AAW Heavyweight title in a brutal no ropes barb wire match that fans are still talking about to this day. November 24th 2007, AAW holds the Third Annual Windy City Classic. Austin Aries and Silas Young open the show in a competitive match that has fans on the edge of their seats. Eric Priest defeats Jimmy Jacobs to retain his Heritage title and unprecedented win streak. A triple main event highlights the show as Jerry Lynn survives Keith Walker to hold on to the AAW Heavyweight title. The Murder City Machine Guns defeat Truth Martini and N8 Mattson in an all Michigan Tag Team title match. Then the match that would change the course of AAW for the next year as Danny Daniels turns and joins Jim Jesus to defeat a courageous Tyler Black in an "I quit" match where Black does not surrender but instead goes unconscious from pain in the middle of the ring ending a dramatic chapter in AAW history and launching Black on a quest for revenge. November 28th 2008, AAW presents the Windy City Classic IV. Shane Holister and Josh Raymond both ascend the rankings picking up wins in singles action. "Team Daniels" defeats "Team Esparza" in an elimination match when Christian Able of the House of Truth makes his mark. Ryan Boz defeats Jimmy Jacobs in the first of many brawls between the two men. Arik Cannon is successful in his AAW Heritage Title defense again Mdogg20. In the first half of a double Main Event Tyler Black successfully defends the AAW title against Silas Young in a match where Young's long time adversary Josh Raymond proved to be a big distraction. Then in what many fans called the match of the year the Phoenix Twins defeated The Northstar Express to win the Tag Team titles in a breath taking TLC match that left Joey Eastman a bloody mess. November 28th 2009, The 5th Anniversary of the Windy City Classic. Colt Cabana brings the long AAW Heritage Title run of Arik Cannon to an end in what some considered quite an upset. The House of Truth continue their rivalry with The Phoenix Twins and defeat them to retain the AAW Tag Titles. The Main Event would shock everyone in the building as Silas Young finally "won the big one" and defeated Shane Hollister and Jimmy Jacobs to be crowned the new AAW Heavyweight Champion. Young did not get it done on his own however as The Irish Airborne assisted in his title victory. An injured Tyler Black then came to ringside wanting apiece of Silas and Young would then defeat him to retain his title minutes after winning it. Young is still the Champion to this day. This year even more memories will be made as AAW presents the Windy City Classic VI. It will be all out war as Silas Young and Irish Airborne take on Jimmy Jacobs, Dan Lawrence and Ryan Boz in a Six Man Street Fight that could end up being the wildest match in the history of the Classic. Shane Holilster also defends his newly won Heritage Title against Davey Richards. This and so much more on November 27th at the Berwyn Eagles Club. Stay tuned for even more announcements regarding the Windy City Classic VI! www.AAWrestling.com

Weren't Jacobs, Lawrence and Boz all in singles feuds with each other at one time? I know they did Lawrence-Boz and Boz-Jacobs programs.

We're only a couple of weeks away from AAW's Windy City Classic VI and as the big event approaches we will be taking a closer look at the card. We'll start today with the big grudge match that will take place in the main event. SIX MAN BERWYN STREET FIGHTVSIt was one year ago at the Windy City Classic where Silas Young aligned himself with the Irish Airborne and shocked AAW by defeating Jimmy Jacobs for the AAW Heavyweight Title. In the last twelve months Young has defended the belt against the finest AAW has had to offer and is on track to break Jerry Lynn's record 419 day championship reign. Silas and the brothers Crist have made no shortage of enemies in this time span often creating controversy as they have kept the belt around Young's waist by any means necessary. This match is not about the belt however. The three men across the ring have put their desire for the championship on hold. On November 27th these three men are out for blood. The team on the other side are certainly no strangers to one another. In fact Jimmy Jacobs, Dan Lawrence and Ryan Boz have all had issues with each other over the years in AAW and they have all drawn each others blood. This has now caused a bond between them. A bond of respect and a common hatred for their opponents. Jacobs has been looking forward to revenge for almost a year. Just last month he had the title within his grasp when the Irish Airborne returned from suspension and cost him his rematch with Silas. Dan Lawrence knows how he feels. DL took Silas Young to the limit on two occasions earlier this year only to come up short. Lawrence is this longest standing member of the AAW roster and rides an impressive win streak into this match. At the Windy City Classic they team with the veteran Ryan Boz. His issues with Silas Young began months back when Young violently attacked him just for mentioning he wanted to challenge for the title before walking away from the business. Now all six men will meet in an anything goes, come as you are street fight. The Windy City Classic has produced some of the wildest matches in the companies history and this year promises to be no different. Knowing what these men are capable of it is safe to say this match will not be for the weak at heart. www.AAWrestling.com
