Make the time to attend ALL the lucha shows.
If you guys like seeing THE REALLY BIG NAMES in the lucha business today you got to attend ALL the shows because basically each lucha show pays for the lucha show following it.Don't just gripe about wanting to see a Wagner or an Hijo del Santo [Hey Charlie Espinosa that means you and I don't care if you are my childhood buddy!!!] go to any and every lucha show these guys put on even if it's just Super Astro vs Mano Negra. If you guys don't go to these shows then the promoters don't make enough money to pay to bring in the guys everyone really wants to see like an Hijo del Santo who demands upwards from 3,500 to 5,000 to come. And that's in dollars not pesos people.I guess the reason they shelled out for Wagner Parka and Tarzan Boy this month is because the last show drew a better than expected crowd and I guess people made some money. So everyone please keep in mind if you want guys like Wagner to show up here you got to support every lucha show Rocky puts on.

What did little ol' Moi ever do?!?!?!
Ok I get the fact that one show pays for the next show but if these people seriously want our money they should really consider
A:] Bringing in guys who can give the fans their money's worth.Ok so you can't get a Mistico fine but there are certainly other guys out there who can do much of the same as Mistico.
or
B:] If they are indeed stuck with having to use guys like Mascara Sagrada whose best days are way past behind them at least charge a reasonable price.I sure as heck don't want to have to spend thirty bucks on hasbeens who aren't going to give me my money's worth!!!
The promoters can take this as an attack,as I understand they always take anything I write down here as an attack,BUT it still doesn't change my views or the fact that these shows are suffering in attendance because they book old guys and charge high prices to see these guys try to relive their glory days of twenty years ago.

I hope I was not insinuating that I do not support the other luchadors. In fact, I've been trying to make the time to go see this promotion for the last couple of months now.

The thing is it is bothersome that when someone like Wagner or Santo comes yeah EVERYONE goes but when they bring in someone like Super Astro the Congress is very empty.Yeah I know some guys are alot better than others but please keep in mind that it isn't always easy to get a Santo or a Wagner since they are in high demand, plus if you guys don't support the other shows then the promoters lose their shirts and can't do shows any more.

Well guys I hate to end the debate/bickering over what talent should and shouldn't be brought but I have an announcement. THE SHOW IS CANCELED! Haha JK anyway with all the talk about who should be booked and who shouldn't ( although I think it is a very interesting topic ) lets try to concentrate on the card we have here thus far! I think we have a very good card booked and everyone should be looking forward to it. Its great to think about the future but we have something good on our hands right now so lets focus!
American talent just booked: Elite pros Mike/Acid vs. Jay Jensen. This guys are 2 very good American talents who will be showing they're stuff at this lucha card and I think everyone knows these guys especially Acid who is one kick ass worker! They will be taking the places of the Thomaselli brothers who will be unable to make it due to they're JCW tour. Good luck to you guys on that tour by the way! Good luck to my close friend Prince Ali as well who will also be on the JCW tour! This is great news for him but take care of that wrist bro!
Also we have The Metal Head Steve Stone which is another guy very worth the the price of admission so with all the great lucha stars and local talent plus some great American Indy names this is a very stacked card!

Is the show on the Friday the 25th or Saturday the 26th? The title of this thread says Friday the 25th... and thus that is the date shoved in all of the fans faces when they visit this board and see the list of upcoming shows. The promotional poster in the middle of the thread says Saturday the 26th. Clarification (and if it's the 26th, modifying the subject of the thread to avoid confusion) should be made.

I've only really been to a few Lucha shows, but not the Congress. Mostly GALLI and a few other shows with Charlie Manson Jr, El Samuray del Sol and Gringo Loko (only names I remember). I hear Congress shows are off the chain though.

The show is Saturday January 26th.That is what I was told at the last show by Rocky Roman himself and I have yet to hear different.I have talked to Mr Frank Arenas on the phone and he hasn't said anything about it being a Friday show. The date since the very beginning has been January 26th 2008.

If it's the 26th, somebody should change this thread title, or else you're going to have some pissed off fans when they show up at the Congress on that Friday and there's no show.

The show is on Sat. the 26th which sucks cause even though we expect a great crowd it would be nice not to go head to head with ROH. It would be great to see alot of the chicago fan base head out to the lucha show but choices are a part of life haha.
