How about "Selectively Deaf"...only hearing what he WANTS to hear.

Look, I tried to find the graphic from years ago on the NAWF site that had flies buzzing around Freedom, but I had no luck. Give a guy a break...the guy in the picture is scuzzy looking, has a beard, and even appears to be wearing Freedom's red wrestling boots. What does a man have to do to please you people??? LOL!

No, I know what my ring work smells like. This is something else, much more putrid! Like something that should have been washed or bathed a long time ago, and much more frequently, but for whatever reason, it never was...

Maybe Stumpy can send that payoff to some of the people he owes money to...

The decision to cancel the event was made this AM, once we saw the weather conditions.
Another date will be announced within the week, likely in January.

Due to the development of a big-ass winter storm that is unleashing its fury all over the WI area into parts of IL and elsewhere, we have made the decision to postpone tonight's NAWF event in Whitewater at the Old Armory.
The majority of the state and surrounding areas remain under a "Blizzard Warning" until noon tomorrow. As a result. we have to consider the safety & well being of our wrestlers, crew, and fans who would be travelling to the event, be it 1 mile or 100 miles.
We are looking at holding the make-up date next Saturday, March 3rd, pending confirmation with the building. As soon as we have confirmation on that date, we will post the info here.

I regret to announce that the NAWF has come to the unfortunate decision to cancel the event scheduled for tonight, 11/17 at the Delavan Roller Rink, due to issues with building management that are beyond our control...or the control of any rational, sane human being for that matter.
However, will be returning to what has been one of our most supportive venues, the Whitewater Armory, in the very near future. In fact, I would imagine we will have updated info on upcoming events by day's end.
Thanks for your patience & support.

I'd say there are some valid points to what intheknow has to say.
The fact is, up until 2-3 years ago fellows like myself were getting anywhere from 8-10 dates per month from promoters like Ken Patera, Stan Kowalski, Rockin Randy, Ed Hellier, Trevor Adonis, Tough Tom and other people where the learning experience was incredible due to the locker room and atmosphere of the event. The money was pretty f'n good as well. That was on top of other events run by promoters who, while maybe they didn't have the locker room or wrestling experience that the afforementioned bunch did, they took care of the guys and were smart enough to let those with wrestling knowledge lead the way.
I am going to go out on a limb and say that on most of these events today, that environment does not exist. Guys need to quit taking dates just to say they got in the ring for a night. Intheknow is right when he says there's 2-3 shows any given night...it hurts everyone. There's an abundance of "talent", no one gets weeded out because there's always someone setting up a ring somewhere and calling it a wrestling show.
Being a wrestler is something you earn, not a right you are born with. And before you start going off on me about using the phrase "weeding out", think about how other sports have been hurt by massive expansion, hockey being the most notable. If you create an environment where the bar is lowered because you need warm bodies, the product as a whole will suffer at every level.

I used to wear a thong around the locker room, but then thought better of it. I also used to do a 450...then thought better of it.
As for drama...that does not exist on NAWF events, except for in the ring.
I would encourage any wrestlers in the area looking to gain experience and learn something that will benefit you in the long run to contact ol' Randy about the Delavan events.
Nuff said. Cover up in the locker room, please...no offense.

I forgot...here's a good one. Morty once sent me an e-mail pretending to be WI promoter Chris Bassett, calling me every name in the book. Quite amusing really, especially considering I've worked regularly for Chris for years. He signed it as Chris, and I think he even spelled his last name wrong. Well, there was one problem, besides the obvious....
Apparently Morty didn't know a whole lot about e-mail, as right near the top of the page, next to the senders' address, in big letters appeared: "MIKE AND ROBIN THOMPSON".
By the way, I am pretty certain I have that e-mail saved on my old computer back at my folks' house in Chicago. I would be glad to copy and paste it on here as an illustration as to just how special these folks are. I want to say this was around 2002 that it was sent. I forwarded it to as many people as I could so that the entire Midwest could enjoy a good laugh at Morty's expense.
