SCW presented "Meltdown" on Friday, August 8 at Beyond The Baseline, just 5 weeks away from the biggest night in SCW history, EPIC 5.
The show opened with a "Prelude to EPIC" match featuring The Phoenix Twins taking on Zero Gravity. Just before the two teams locked up, SCW Tag Team Champions, The Windy City Classic (Danny Daniels & Trik Davis) came out to do seemingly harmless guest commentary. Minutes into the match, both teams ended up on the outside and that's when Windy City went to work on the teams they will face at EPIC 5. The match was called a no contest.
The Phoenix Twins vs. Zero Gravity - No Contest
In a Triple Threat Match, "The Chosen's" Knight Walburg def. Johnny Wisdom and newcomer Markus Crane (formerly known as Trent Scott).
Jake Ryder, Nevin Knoxville and SCW Champion Marek Brave came out. It's the first time Brave has appeared since his title was thrown in a flaming trash can at "Malevolence." Brave insisted that him and Shane fight which brought out Mark Storm from the front door. Storm informed fans that he wasn't in the house, but that he was more than happy to accept Brave's challenge for EPIC 5! Storm also had a proposition of his own.
"The Chosen" and Pro Wrestling NEXT will face off in a Best of 3 series at EPIC 5. If PWN wins, they become a permanent entity in Scott County Wrestling. If they lose, every member of the faction, including Mark Storm are gone from SCW forever. Jake Ryder accepted and said that tonight, the fans would see Mark Storm in action against Jake Ryder! And Nevin Knoxville. And Marek Brave. Storm insisted that he wasn't alone and agreed on a 6-man tag team match. Ryder, Knoxville and

Before the next match, it was announced that due to Windy City Classic's screwing the fans out of the Twins vs. Zero Gravity match, they would be treated to the match that was scheduled for EPIC 5. Champions, The Windy City Classic were to defend their titles against both The Phoenix Twins and Zero Gravity later in the night!
Nick Brubaker made his return to SCW teaming with former QC Champion Kyle Rich to def. AJ Smooth and Wayne Weems. Smooth and Weems were obviously not on the same page.
In a stunning upset, Dewey "Booger" Dawson def. Hunter Matthews for the Quad City Championship! The match was an unbelievable back and forth battle and the crowd was ecstastic to see Dawson win his first title in SCW. Hunter Matthews grabbed a mic and exclaimed that Dewey was now "f***ed."
Windy City Classic def. Zero Gravity and The Phoenix Twins when the referee lost control of the match and Danny Daniels nailed Gakiya with a chair to the head allowing Trik Davis to get the pinfall. It has since been announced that these three teams will meet at EPIC 5 in an Anything Goes Tornado Tag Match for the SCW Tag Titles!
In the main event, Jake Ryder, Marek Brave and Nevin Knoxville def. Krotch, Tank Roberts and Mark Storm. After the match, Krotch and Tank were taken out. The Chosen isolated Storm and started to beat him, but Storm only laughed. The more they beat him up, the more he laughed. Brave asked was so funny, Storm informed him that his match at EPIC 5 against Shane Hollister was no ordinary match. It is a STEEL CAGE MATCH!
The Chosen left distraught as Storm was helped out by his PWN followers.
That's right folks, for the first time ever in SCW history, we will have a STEEL CAGE MATCH! SCW Champion Marek Brave takes on fan favorite Shane Hollister!
Also on tap for EPIC 5, The Windy City Classic vs. The Phoenix Twins vs. Zero Gravity in an Anything Goes Tornado Tag Match for the SCW Tag Team Titles!
Former QC Champion Hunter Matthews has demanded his rematch against new champion Dewey "Booger" Dawson and has challenged Dawson to an "I Quit" Match.
Also on tap, The Chosen and Pro Wrestling NEXT will face off in a Best of 3 series. If PWN wins, they become a permanent part of SCW!
The matches that will make up the Best of 3 Series will be announced in the coming weeks as well as other matches and talent scheduled to appear at EPIC 5.
