From top to bottom, the crowd was into every match on the show. In fact, it was perhaps the loudest crowd I've evr heard at any show in 3XW's history.
The show starts off with a deranged Chad Mylan, coming off his attack of KL Snow on the most recent Outside the Ring, walking out to the ring and interrupting KL Snow as he was about to announce the first match. Mylan rips on the crowd for sporting mullets and black t-shirt's before introducing his newest set of friends, The Gentlemen's Club.
Octane, Sterling and Countryman talk about last month's events, where Sterling failed in his bid for the 3XW Pure Wrestling title during the tournament and Octane was unable to recapture the 3XW Heavyweight title from Devin Carter. Of course, they had plenty of excuses for their recent losses and, while declaring themselves "the greatest duo in 3XW history," the music of the Northstar Express suddenly blasted out of the speakers.
In not so many words and insults, Corbin and Cruz let it be known to the Gentlemen's Club that their 20-month-long reign as 3XW Tag Team champions clearly made them the greatest team in 3XW history, making the Gentlemen's Club very upset as the NSE went back to the locker room.
Match 1: The returning Arya Daivari defeated "The Asian Sensation" Ricky Kwong via pin following a low blow. A native of Iran, Daivari wore his trademark turban to the ring while carrying his ceremonial rug. Before the match began, Daivari laid his rug in the center of the ring, kneeling and bowing on it to "praise Allah," which as you can guess didn't go over to well with some of the pro-America segments of the crowd. Lots of "USA" chants in this one.
The real crime in this bout was the unsportmanlike tactics Daivari implemented throughout this very back-and-forth encounter. Near the end, Daivari successfully avoided being crushed by Kwong's Samoan Drop, while Kwong moved out of the way of Daivari's "Magic Carpet Ride" splash from the top rope with rug in hand. The end came when Daivari snatched the ring bell and indicated that he was going to nail Kwong with it. As referee Travis Peterson took the bell away and put it back at ringside, Daivari dropped to his knees and struck Kwong's nether-region with a mighty uppercut. The fans were extremly irate that the cocky Daivari picked up the win. Not doing himself any favors, Daivari taunted the ringside crowd as he walked to the back, enraging one thin-haired man to the point that he was flipping Daivari the bird while using the "screw you" sign at the same time.
Match 2: Brady A. Dezire's Open Challenge: Maddog McDowell beat Brady A. Dezire via pinfall following a Rabies Shot after surviving two brutal superkicks by Dezire. How Maddog was even still standing following the superkicks completely defies all conventional logic and is a testament to the toughness of the former U.S. Army soldier and collegiate football player. Throughout the match, Dezire cried "He's not a cruiserweight!" Apparently he forgot to send out a memo that this was a cruiserweight only challenge and paid dearly for it.
Match 3: The Northstar Express (Darin Corbin and Ryan Cruz) successfully defended the 3XW Tag Team titles over the undefeated team of Jeremy Wyatt and 3XW Pure Wrestling champion Tyler Cook via pinfall after Wyatt turned on his partner and decimated Cook with a one-man Kansas Tumbleweed, leading to a pin by Cruz. Wyatt and Cook have certainly had some disagreement's as of late stemming from Cook pinning Wyatt in last month's Pure Wrestling title tournament, but no one was expecting Wyatt's anger to escalate so dramatically.
Early on in the match, Corbin stomped Cook in the chest and immediately dropped to the mat, clutching in his leg in pain. After tagging out to Cruz, he rolled out to the arena floor, where 3XW personnel helped him to the back and took him to a local hospital, leaving Cruz to defend the titles alone. According to a blurb Corbin posted on his MySpace page, he suffered a ruptured ACL and could be out of action for some time.
As for Corbin's injury, here's what he posted on his MySpace page about what occurred:
With Cruz left alone, it was practially inevitable that Cook and Wyatt would win the gold, which leaves Wyatt's actions even more astounding.
Following the pin, Wyatt and a groggy Cook brawled to the back while Cruz checked on Corbin's conditon at ringside and helped lift him up so he could be taken to the locker room. Suddenly, the Gentlemen's Club music hit. In easily the worst act of sportmanship ever seen in 3XW, Commissioner Todd Countryman told an exhausted Cruz he would have to defend the titles right now by himself against Sterling and Octane.
Match 4: The Gentlemen's Club (Mark Sterling and Gage Octane) defeated Ryan Cruz of the Northstar Express to end the NSE's 20-month-long reign as 3XW Tag Team champions via pin following a dastardly kick to Cruz's groin. Despite being put in a handicapped match situation, Cruz showed incredible guts and actually came close to successfully defending the titles over two of 3XW's top athletes. The end came when Countryman distracted the ref while Sterling blasted Cruz with Corbin's own patented groin kick.
Match 5: Jimmy Rockwell successfully defended the 3XW Crusierweight title by DQ after Casanova kick Rockwell low right in front of the referee. The fans were on Casanova's case throughout the match following his attack on former partner and best friend Devin Carter at "On a Stick." Nova focused almost exclusively on Rockwell's still injured shoulder and almost forced him to tap out to a visious Fujiwara armbar. The gutsy champion loudly had the crowd's support and fought off the former champion while mostly using only one arm. Despite contorlling much of the match, Casanova could not put Rockwell away and his frustration got the better of him in the end.
Match 6: Zach Thompson and Mike Sydal beat The Newer Era (Ryan Slade and Aaron Masteron-Slade) after Sydal used a beautiful standing moonsault to get the pin on Masterson-Slade. Thompson and Sydal used a number of high-flying moves throughout the match and really impressed the fans, who were delighted to see the arrogant Canadians take the fall.
Main Event: "Delicious" Devin Carter successfully defended the 3XW Heavyweight title defeating Arik Cannon via pin following the Tasty Treat. Excellent back-and-forth contest that saw each men use all their signature moves for many, many near falls. Cannon failed to beat Carter despite brutal strikes and kicks, a spine-crushing Brainbuster, and a devastating Total Anarchy. Carter failed to finish Cannon with a Spinebister and Side Effect until finally getting the win with his patented Tasty Treat. Following the match, Casanova once again attacked an exhausted Carter before taking Carter's belt and leaving with it!
What can we expect to happen between Casanova and Devin Carter in the future? With Darin Corbin possibly out for months, how will Ryan Cruz exact revenge on the Gentlemen's Club? Speaking of revenge, what does Tyler Cook have in store for Jeremy Wyatt? Will Arya Diavari set his sights on a 3XW Crusierwight title shot or will Zach Thompson or Mike Sydal beat him to it?
The Clobberpalooza Classic was an absolutely awesome event and should be on your shortlist of must-buy 3XW DVD's.

As for Corbin's injury, here's what he posted on his MySpace page about what occurred:
At a 3XW show in Des Moines, IA on Sept 12th, I came down wrong on my left knee resulting in me being unable to finish the match. I spent a couple hours in the hospital (5 hours exact) and nothing is broken, but the early worries are potentially ruptured ACL.
To many of you, thank you for your constant support and keeping me in mind. I've had numerous texts, messages, and just well wishes hoping to get better. I appreciate all your support. I will do my best to keep people posted via blogs, texts, etc. And let you know how I'm doing.
Thanks again to all.
