RESULTS FROM OCTOBER 10TH
In front of a very large, and energetic crowd, the NWA Underground would make its long awaited return to the Pavilion in Beautiful downtown Bourbon, Indiana.
With the injection of energy that is the NWA, the Underground would see the debut of the NWA WORLD Tag Team Champions- The Skullkrushers, NWA Midwest Heavyweight Champion - Silas Young, and NWA Midwest X Division Champion - Egotistico Fantastico. We would also see the return of ROH Super Star Jimmy Jacobs, WSX/MTV Star Josh Raymond, IWA-MS and Michigan standout - Christian Able.
Also in action was our own NWA Underground Champion - "The Hype" Jimmy Shalwin, and our own NWA Undergound Tag Champs -Brian Skyline and Ryan Epic.
The show would start out with the Fork Yielding Adam Bueller taking on Andrew Phelps. The match would go back and forth. Bueller would get the upper hand many times as he would regress back to his dirty tactics.. A rake to the eyes, a boot to the head, and you name it, he tried it. Luckily for Phelps, Bueller would miss his finisher from the top rope. As Bueller would come down, it would seem initially that he broke his ankle. Phelps would take adavantage of the mishap, and put a wicked ankle lock on Bueller causing him to tap out for the submission.
Our next match would see Jake Omen,Nick Cutler, Scotty Young, and Jynx taking on each other in the squared circle. This high action packed match would see action at fan level. With Omen, Cutler, and Young at ring side, Jynx would hit one of his flying moves he is so well known for, and take everyone at ring side to the floor. In the end, Jynx would come up victorious as he hit his finisher against Nick Cutler.
The next match would see a Grudge match between Erico and Gregory the Gorilla. Shady Chris Xion would interfere in the match, causing Erico to get a DQ, and allowing Gregory to come away with the win. As Gregory lay on the ring after the first attack from Xion, Erico would begin to attack as well. Out of no where, Brutus Dylan would come to the aid of Gregory. The commissioner of the NWA Underground, would then reorder the match to be re started as a tag match. Gregory and Brutus would come away with the win. Gregory would climb up on the shoulders of 6'6" Brutus Dylan and perform a frog splash on both Erico and Xion as they lie side by side. Gregory would pin both for the 1,2,3 victory.
Our next match would see Gameboy defeat the new comer to the Underground Lewis Lynden. You would hear Lynden during various stages of the match say," that is not honor, that is not honor!!!" As Gameboy would use his Power Glove at different points in the match, those would be that were mumbled by Lynden. Now to understand those words, you need to understand his style; he has a martial arts background. Thus, when he felt something wasn't on the up and up, he would complain, and say that is not honor. Now when he tried something underhanded, of course you didn't hear him chanting those same words. I guess you could actually call him, in retrospect,"the Hypocrite" Lewis Lynden. Well, not to fret, we would see the Gameboy come away from the match the victory.
Leading into our next round of matches we would see a three way tag between Zane Ramzey/Buff Kahlua vs the Kent Boys vs Travis Southern/El Blue Enferno. The Kents have taken on a new persona. Not set in there good old ways, they have taken on a screw the fans attitude, and its all about us. Ramzey & Kahlua would seem to make a new alliance with the Kents, as both teams would try dirty trick after dirty trick to try and steal a victory over Travis Southern and El Blue Enferno. In the end, we would see the Kent Boys stealing the victory, and gaining a number one contender ship for the NWA Underground tag team belts.
From there we would see The Hype defend his NWA Underground Heavyweight title against ROH superstar Jimmy Jacobs. Of course the Hype would be up to his old ways. Win at any cost. If it meant choking Jacobs with a foreign object, that is exactly what he was willing to do. On three to four occasion, under blind eye from the ref, this is exactly what he would do. Now when Jacobs got the upper hand, and found the rope used by Hype, the ref would yanked it from the hands, and would not let Jacobs use it. Something smelled fishy this whole match; every time Jacobs would get the upper hand, the ref would get in the way, or cause a mishap to Jacobs. In the end as Jacobs had Hype in a wicked reverse choke hold, the ref would raise Hypes hand twice, and then conveniently place Hypes hand over the rope. The light finally came on, Jacobs confronted the ref, and then, with his back turned, Hype would roll Jacobs up for the 1,2,3. Not only a regular 1,2,3, fast 1, 2, 3. It will be interesting to see how this story folds out. What relationship does this ref have with Hype? The story is sure to unfold in the coming weeks as we lead into the Heavyweight bout against the Hype and Jamie Eternal on October 25th in Union, Michigan.
Our next match, how to say, was just amazing. It was for the NWA Midwest X Division Champion. We would see Egotistico Fantastico, the current holder defend his belt against IWA-MS and Michigan standout - Christian Able.
The match would go back and forth with the fans chanting on many occasions shorty, shorty, shorty to try and get in the head of Christian Able. In a test of strength, to be fair Egotistico would bring things down to his level. That is a couple of feet. Anyway, the match would see Egotistico come away with the victory and allow him to retain his NWA Midwest X Division Championship.
The next match, was one of the matches of the evening. As we saw NWA Midwest Heavyweight Champion - Silas Young defend his title against WSX/MTV Star Josh Raymond. Silas would come to the aid of a young fan, and guarantee him, that he would make Raymond cry as well. The match became so intense, that at one point, Raymond broke a finger nail, and broke down into tears. In the end, Young would defeat Raymond to maintain his Championship belt. After the victory, Silas would go back over to the little fan, and give the title to the fan. You could see a smile from chin to chin on the little guy!! Oh, and as Young promised, Raymond would leave the arena in tears.
Our main event match would see the Skullkrushers vs Brian Skyline, and Ryan Epic. Before the match could even start, the Skullkrushers took Skyline and Epic out. The injuries sustained would not allow Epic and Skyline to partake in the main event. As the Skullkrushers were about to leave the ring, our ring announcer Michael Z told them that they would not be paid if they didn't have a match. This led into a impromptu match with Osyris and Hillbilly Jed. To see Osyris and Hillbilly, these guys are the biggest the Underground has to offer, and match up pound for pound against the Skullkrushers. In fact they most likely out weigh them. The match would lead to the fans, as Brown would be thrown threw the spiderweb causing him to get all tangled up in webbing from head to foot. The match would go back in forth with Skullkrushers maintaining the momentum threw most of the match. In the end the Skullkrushers were just to much, and would come away with the victory.
Our next show is in Union, Michigan on the October 25th. Details for that show along with our show in Goshen, on November 8th will be announced soon at www. nwa-underground. com
Oh, be on the look out for our new dvd's including Scream Fest in the store tab of our website.
