A very large, packed crowd was on hand to witness one of the best events in 3XW History. It's easily one of the biggest crowds 3XW has ever had, as the Forte Ballroom was packed more than ever before for BAM-O-Ween. If you've never given 3XW a chance before, be sure to pick up this DVD when it's available as you won't be dissapointed. There truly was something for every style of wrestling fan at this event.
As usual, KL Snow welcomed the fans to BAM-O-Ween and we were off and running with our huge opening match featuring three of 3XW's best.
1. Jeremy Wyatt vs. Maddog McDowell vs. Arik Cannon in a Triple Threat match to determine the No. 1 contender for the 3XW Pure Wrestling title:
A very hard hitting match featuring all three men laying into one another with chops, punches and kicks. One of the early highlights is hard to describe: McDowell pushing Cannon stomach-first into the ropes in an attempted to roll up, only for Wyatt to come over the top rope from the outside and sunset flip McDowell, who German Suplexed Cannon at the same time (I may have mixed up Wyatt and Cannon). It was an amazing visual.
The final moments of the match saw bonecrushing moves delivered by all three men, including Cannon managing to hoist big McDowell up for a brainbuster and dropping him headfirst, which is devastation I'm positive Maddog has never felt in his life. Wyatt followed Cannon's massacre of McDowell up with an impressive Cropduster DDT, rendering Cannon unconscious as Wyatt finished former Pure Wrestling champion McDowell off with a Kansas Tumbleweed for the pin.
Winner and new No. 1 contender for the 3XW Pure Wrestling title: "The Rebel" Jeremy Wyatt via pinfall on Maddog McDowell after a Kansas Tumbleweed.
As we would find out later, with thoughts of hurting current 3XW Pure Champion and former partner Tyler Cook on his mind, this would not be the last time we saw Wyatt at BAM-O-Ween
2. Six-Man Tag Team match: Zach Thompson, Mike Sydal & Krotch vs. Brady Dezire, Ryan Slade & Aaron Masterson-Slade:
A very action-packed match with these six speedy competitors moving all over the ring. The successful new team of Sydal and Thompson reigned victorious for their trio after pinning Masterson-Slade with double standing moonsaults. After match, Ryan Slade berated his adopted son for taking another loss for the family.
Winners: Krotch, Zach Thompson, and Krotch via pinfall on Aaron Masterson-Slade after double standing moonsaults by Sydal and Thompson.
3. Women's Match: Malia Hosaka vs. Allison Wonderland
The veteran Hosaka made her 3XW debut by making short work of Wonderland, who was overwhelmed by the difference in experience.
Winner: Malia Hosaka by pinfall after a reverse DDT on Wonderland.
4. Grudge Match: Ryan Cruz w/Darin Corbin vs. Mark Sterling w/Todd Countryman
Corbin, still recovering from last month's knee injury, made a surprise appearance with cane in hand to be in Cruz's corner. This was a super-heated, solid wrestling encounter that featured both Countryman and Corbin involving themselves from outside the ring. The end of the match saw Corbin enter the ring while the referee was distracted by Countryman, only for Sterling to push him hard into the corner and steal Corbin's cane. Sterling attempted to use the cane, but missed hitting Cruz with it. By this time, Corbin had grabbed hold of Sterling's 3XW Tag Team title at ringside, threw it to Cruz, who blasted Sterling with it just in time for the referee to turn around and count the pin to a huge ovation.
NOTE: Some of the details about the final moments of the match may be mixed up, so if anyone else could elaborate or correct these details, please let us know.
Winner: Ryan Cruz by pinfall after nailing Sterling in the head with his own title belt.
Intermission: Normally there's not much of note during intermission, but the crowd at BAM-O-Ween saw a very controversial event while waiting to visit the 3XW merchandise table. Fans were given the opportunity to take a photo in the ring with 3XW Heavyweight champion "Delicious" Devin Carter. Just as the first fan was set to enter the ring, however, the crowd scattered as Casanova snuck into the ring behind Carter and blasted him repeatedly in the gut with a large steel pole. The photo-op was called off as Carter was helped in the back in drastic pain, with his title defense against Casanova still to come in the main event.
5. 3XW Pure Championship match - Tyler Cook defends against Shane Hollister:
This action-packed battle was sponsored by Missouri Wrestling Revival (www.missouriwrestlingrevival.com) as the first match ever in its "Midwest Best Series," and it certainly didn't disappoint the MWR representatives in attendance. Both men pulled out all the stops with a combination of brutal kicks and high-flying moves. At one point, Hollister kicked Cook so hard in the jaw that it's amazing it didn't crush facial bones. Cook picked up the win with an amazing charging front dropkick that knocked Hollister hard off his feet into the corner and then he finished a severely dazed Hollister with a Fisherman Suplex. Both men shook hands after the match in a show of respect.
Winner: Cook by pinfall with a Fisherman Suplex.
Following the match, Cook celebrated his successful title defense in the ring until suddenly Jeremy Wyatt's music hit. Cook put his belt down and stood pointed toward the entrance way in a defense stance. Wyatt, however, snuck out from underneath the opposite side of the ring and meleed Cook from behind with a forearm as the woman and children in the crowd screamed in terror. Wyatt preceded to give Cook one of the most brutal beatings we've ever seen in 3XW, including curb stomping Cook's face HARD into the Pure title. Five members of 3XW Security charged into the ring, only for Wyatt to beat the heck out of all of them and attack an unconscious Cook again. Shane Hollister, who's never been one of the nicer athlete's in 3XW, even attempted to jump into the ring to save Cook from the assault, only for Wyatt to kick him hard off the ring apron. Shortly after, it took every member of the security team to physically maneuver Wyatt out of the ring and to the locker room. The No. 1 contender for Cook's Pure Wrestling title was all smiles while being escorted to the locker room, clearly proud of the beating he delivered to the champion.
6. 3XW Cruiserweight Championship match: Jimmy Rockwell defends against Arya Daivari:
The crowd was very, very, very loudly behind the local hero by way of Las Vegas, Jimmy Rockwell, as he defended the gold against the very tough challenge of the evil Daivari. To the jeers of the crowd, Daivari controlled much of the match, only for the gutsy Rockwell to keep coming back to fight. Th final moments of the saw Daivari, sacred rug in hand, successfully fly off the top rope and crush Rockwell with the Magic Carpet Ride. With victory certainly in hand, Daivari laid back first on Rockwell to add insult to injury with a cocky pin, only for Rockwell to turn the tide at the 2 1/2 count, hook Daivari's arms into a crucifix rollup and get the 1-2-3 on a shocked Daivari. The crowd went bonkers!
Winner: Jimmy Rockwell with a savvy crucifix pin on Daivari.
7. Singles Match: Kraig Keesaman vs. "The Asian Sensation" Ricky Kwong
Keesaman has added even more viking garb to his ensemble, entering the ring wearing viking horns to go along with his traditional Nordic threads. A very good contest, Keesaman put the popular Kwong away with his pet move, the spine-crushing Nordic Spike. Kwong had just missed a Flying Elbow Drop off the top rope, which gave the veteran Keesaman the opportunity he needed to finish the youngster. After the match, Keesaman moved his hands across his waist repeatedly, giving the the crowd the universal sign for "I want a belt!" With another win here to go along with his numerous wins n recent months, Keesaman is well on his way to earning a title shot.
Winner: Keesaman by pinfall after crushing Kwong with the Nordic Spike.
8. 3XW Heavyweight title - "Delicious" Devin Carter defends against Casanova:
A match over three years in the making, two 3XW mainstays battled each other one-on-one for the first time. These best friends turned bitter enemies have been on a collision course ever since Casanova attacked his former tag team partner following Carter's successful title defense over Gage Octane at "On a Stick!" in August. At September's "Clobberpalooza Classic" we saw Casanova once again attack Carter, this time after a successful defense over Arik Cannon. To make matters worse, Casanova stole physical possession of Carter's Heavyweight title and left inPlay with the gold in hand that night.
Back to the present, earlier tonight we saw Casanova devastate Carter's abdominal muscles with a steel pole. Casanova enters the ring first, wearing the 3XW Heavyweight title he doesn't officially hold. Carter storms to the ring second, clearly having trouble breathing and clutching his midsection before the match even starts. Carter tackles Casanova to the mat and the match is on before ring announcer KL Snow can even make the official introductions.
Carter's momentum was short lived, however, as Casanova quickly went to work on Carter's abdomen, wearing him down in an effort to make his dream-inducing Sleeperhold even more effective. Throughout the match, Carter would dramatically make a comeback, only for Casanova to punch and kick Carter's midsection and further effect Carter's breathing processes. As the the match wore on, despite Casanova applying the sleeper hold multiple times, Carter amazingly either broke the hold or lifted his arm just in the knick of time. Just as Carter appeared to be on the verge of a heroic victory, a brief distraction of the referee allowed for Casanova to reach into his tights, pull out a set of brass knuckles, and blast Carter in the stomach with a gut wrenching punch. Casanova made the cover and earned the 1-2-3. The crowd was irate as KL Snow was forced to declare Casanova the new 3XW Heavyweight champion, as fans pleaded with president Skylar Pierce to overturn the decision based Casanova's cheating tactics. Unfortunately, President Pierce was in the wrong place at the wrong time, as his angle of the ring didn't allow him to see enough evidence to overturn the decision and lord knows Commissioner Countryman wouldn't change any decision if it resulted in a Carter loss.
Winner and NEW 3XW Heavyweight Champion: Casanova by pinfall after punching Carter in the stomach with brass knuckles.
Following the match, Pierce told a celebrating Casanova that he won't be able to have an unfair advantage next month, as Casanova will defend against "Delicious" Devin Carter in 3XW's first ever Lumberjack Match at Black Friday on Nov. 28. Finally, Casanova will have to match up with Carter on an equal playing field!
As fans exited the arena, Casanova conducted a victory interview with Mike Irvine in the ring filmed for the next episode of 3XW "Outside the Ring."
Be sure to watch the next edition of Outside the Ring for all the details on BAM-O-Ween and information about 3XW's upcoming Campus Chaos and Black Friday events!
