3XW "Campus Chaos" - Nov. 21 - Fayette, IA on the campus of Upper Iowa University
Before the event officially began, fans were treated to an impromptu dark macth as two drunk college students, both wearing singlets, jumped into the ring and started battling it out. Security quickly helped both men from the ring.
1. 3XW Cruiserweight champion "The Rockstar" Jimmy Rockwell successuflly defended his title over "The Adolescent Disaster" Aaron-Masterson Slade following an awesome swanton bomb off the top rope. The packed crowd of college students was really on "Canadian Sex Icon" Ryan Slade's case, who was ringside with Masterson-Slade for the match.
2. Kraig Keesaman beat "The Asian Sensation" Ricky Kwong and the debuting Dinn T. Moore in a triple threat match following his pet move, the Nordic Spike. Moore is a sizeable competitor and one of the bigger men to wrestle in 3XW in quite some time.
3. Malia Hosaka beat the debuting Katie Syren. The larger Syren posed much more of a challenge than Allison Wonderland did at Bam-O-Ween, but Hosaka picked up the win with a highly impresive rolling cradle.
4. 3XW Heavyweight champion Casanova successfully defended his title over UIU alum Maddog McDowell after blantant cheating - Casanova caused referee Steve Biley to get accidentally squashed in the corner by McDowell, allowing him the opportunity to kick Maddog way below the belt and get the pin. Casanova continued his assualt on McDowell after the match, leading to Nova's former partner and now arch nemesis Devin Carter to run to the ring and make the save.
During the match, an overly passionate college-aged fan actually slid his chair into the ring for McDowell to use - it was too late, however, because McDowell was already on the mat for the pin.
5. 3XW Tag Team champions The Gentlemen's Club (Gage Octane and Mark Sterling w/ Todd Countryman) successfully defended the titles over Mike Sydal and "The Unbreakable" Zach Thompson following their spectacular yet-to-be-named tandem diamond cutter move.
6. "Delicious" Devin Carter beat "The Canadian Sex Icon" Ryan Slade, despite attempted interference by Aaron Masteron-Slade, with the Tasty Treat in a surprisngly back-and-forth match in which Slade more than held his own. The highlight of the match was when Carter wedgied Slade's thong so hard that it snapped and broke, with pieces of thong flying all over the ring.
7. Main Event - $5,000 Battle Royal - Maddog McDowell picked up the huge win, last eliminating 3XW Heavyweight champion Casanova. It was revealed after the match, however, that due to an accounting error, McDowell actually only won $5.
I also filmed an unfortunate segment with Aaron Masterson-Slade at the show. In a first in my wrestling reporting career, an angry wrestler chased me out of the ring:
