To start the night and the New Year, Trevor Blanchard finished off Marco Cordova with a spike DDT. Cordova solid in his Poww debut.
Melanie Cruise scored the victory from the Great Cheyenne. A back and forth match between these two heavy hitters. On the way back to the locker room Cheyenne reminded Cruise that on January 31 in Oswego they will meet again.
King Kanoa made quick work out of DJ Donnie Dynamite. Afterwards Kanoa stated to the crowd that he has been unbeaten for the Regional Title in six months making him the best Regional Champ ever. Out comes Scott Spade. Spade refreshed Kanoa's memory saying that he was the longest running Regional champ in Poww history and wants a crack at the belt. Kanoa agreed to meet Spade in two weeks in a non-title match in Wauconda. If Spade wins ,Kanoa will give him a title shot in the future.
With ring announcer Mr Ricolo in the ring, the M.O.B. made their way into the ring led by the limping Jimmy Blaze. Blaze kept to his word by apologizing to Mr Ricolo on the things he said on the Poww fan forum. Mr Ricolo accepted the apology and jumping the gun thanking Blaze and the fans for voting and naming him Commissioner of Poww. Blaze furious told Ricolo that he is not the new commissioner that he wanted someone who he could rely on and trust . Blaze went on and named Master J , much to his surprise, as commissioner. Jimmy Blaze also informed the fans that he is not wrestling due to the gout he has in his leg and named Tommy Capone as his replacement and that Jade will accompany him to the ring with Trevor Blanchard as enforcer , Black Iron on commentating ,Justin James as special referee and Blaze with a ringside seat.
In tag action which was to be a non title match, Joey Cece came out and addressed the crowd that Terry Allen would be taking a leave from pro wrestling indefinitely and would not be competing tonight. Cece surrendered the tag belts to Jimmy Blaze who limped out and ripped into his former friend and partner. Blaze stated that there will be a tag tournament in the future to determine the new Poww tag team champs. Blaze also added that The Pitbull will be facing the Sinmates by himself.
Xcon and Dehok tagging in and out repeatedly wore out Joey Cece. But Cece got the victory after Xcon dropped an elbow, mistakingly on Dehok following a Cece spear. The Pitbull gets the pinfall and win.
Ruff Crossing drove Tommy Capone to the mat with the pump handle driver to get the pinfall with Ruff assisting special referee Justin James with the three count. The end came when Capone superkicked Crossing who was being held by Jimmy Blaze, Crossing ducked and Capone's kick nailed Jimmy Blaze sending Blaze to the floor. After the pin fall The M.O.B. rushed the ring and attacked Crossing. Seeing all the shenanigans in the ring new Commissioner Master J had enough. Master J put a stop to the beatdown. Jimmy Blaze surprised as to what the new commissioner did . Master J also informed Blaze and the M.o.B. that he is ruling with an iron fist , as he slipped his iron glove over his hand. The Commish also stated that Blaze must wrestle Crossing in Dubuque and Wauconda or give the paying fans back their money. After the smoke cleared Master J left the ring with the cheers from the crowd as the chanted Master J , Master J; etc
Chris Cairo retained the Poww World Title when he defeated the Great Malaki. The crowd still buzzing over the previous match saw non-stop action as both grapplers were at their best. Xavier DeFoust, manager of Malaki, interfered at times but Malaki could not over come the swiftness of the young champion. After the match Mr Ricolo informed Cairo on January 17 he will defend the world title against, Eric Freedom.
