found this on PWInsider.com. thought id post it here to kind of remind myself of when and where this show is. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ You knew it had to be too good to be true. Former NWA and ECW World champion Terry Funk, now well into his 60s, will be returning to the ring for the first time since his knee replacement surgery for Wisconsin independent promotion Heavy on Wrestling. Funk will be wrestling Arik Cannon, a Mid-West independent star seen in the short-lived MTV Wrestling Society X series on 9/19 in Superior, WI at the Wessman Arena. Funk's fellow WWE Hall of Famer and long-time rival Ric Flair has been announced as the special referee for the show, which is being sponsored by our friends at www.highspots.com. Given that Highspots recently filmed a Flair-Roddy Piper shoot DVD, I am hoping that Funk and Flair in the same place means they will be doing a DVD together as well.

Now how about a three-way: Ann v. Daffney v. Christy Hemme (who reportedly is soon returning to TNA tv). P.S.: I'd really prefer Ann v. Daffney one-on-one, but I figured the HOW power(s)-that-be might want to tweak the match a bit.

Any updates on the card? I've been told Sheik Abdul Bashir has been added.

A friend who spoke directly with the promoter told me the 9/19 show in Superior, WI has been cancelled, but he is working to reschedule it at a later date in the Twin Cities area. I'll provide more details as I learn them -- unless Ann Brookstone reappears to provide updates.

I hope not. This show has been getting a bunch of national press. PWI500, Dirt sites, and sheets.

The other day my friend from MN (who purchased seven front-row tickets for this show) told me a friend of his got confirmation of the cancellation from Ann Brookstone on MySpace. However, to-date, there is no announcement of the cancellation on the HOW website, nor has any other website listing the event been contacted about the cancellation. This strikes me as more than a little unprofessional.

I should get more info soon from my MN friend. Wish the promoter would step up and give the info himself on the websites where the show is listed.

My MN friend spoke with the HOW promoter last night, and the 9/19 show is definitely not happening. If you want to see some kind of written confirmation of the postponement and the status of rescheduling the show, go to: www.midwestindependents.com, click on Calendar, and scroll down to find the info. Don't know why the HOW promoter has not even announced the postponement on the promotion's own website.
