Show will air this Saturday night (5/16) on ESPN Deportes. Aragon had a pretty good turnout, no sellout by any means. Brandon Vera was showed on the big screen and I saw Clay Guida outside after the show. Nothing spectacular, but it could have been worse. I'll have more details later.
They were using the "Bellator: Where fighters become warriors, and warriors become legends" tagline like it was going out of style. Got old fast.
OFFICIAL RESULTS (from MMAJUnkie.com):
Omar De La Cruz def. Dave Menne via TKO (strikes) - Round 1, 3:19. Lyman Good def. Jorge Ortiz via TKO (doctor's stoppage, cut) - Round 2, 4:37 Troy Gerhart def. Lorenzo Borgomeo via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) Eddie Sanchez def. Jay White via TKO (strikes) - Round 1, 0:10
NOTE: Sanchez caught White with the uppercut and put him away fast. Had more trouble getting on the cage to celebrate.
Alonzo Martinez def. Victor Meza via submission (rear-naked choke) - Round 2, 2:43 Jesse Juarez def. Deray Davis via TKO (strikes) - Round 2, 4:47 Kerry Vera def. Leslie Smith via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)
NOTE: Easily the fight of the night, and Vera looked pretty good. Better than any of Brandon's recent fights on UFC TV. No ground action at all.
Jacob Volkman def. Kevin Knabjian via submission (triangle choke) - Round 2, 1:42 Anthony Lapsley def. Ryan Williams via submission (rear-naked choke) - Round 1, 4:22
