I've been to the Portage before. Nice restored theater with a main stage and a ton of seating. They host a lot of horror movie festivals and the world premiere of "Chic-A-Go-Go," the movie.
Big downside is that it's a huge walking haul between it and the Blue Line at Irving Park. I've walked it. Long.

Sorry to hear about the cancellation, but at least I won't have to choose between this and UFC now.

Hey JTB try getting off at the Montrose Blue Line stop. It's a shorter walk and if you want you can even catch the Montrose bus all the way down to Milwaukee ave which stops a few short blocks [about two] from the Portage Theater.
In my opinion however the Portage really isn't a good place to do lucha shows. They get alot of business doing their monster movie matinees and having to accomodate a lucha show would mean removing alot of those seats and I can't see them doing that. Even if the seats can be replaced it means alot of work and as iit usually goes who will be in charge of doing that?
