Pro Wrestling Phoenix returns to action on Saturday Night – August 22nd for BATTLE OF THE PHOENIX ’09!!!
*** For the PWP Heavyweight Championship – “The Rebel” Jeremy Wyatt will defend against Donnie Peppercricket. Wyatt will obviously have the other members of the Murder Militia watching his back, Donnie had better bring some backup as well if he hopes to become champion. The winner of this match will defend the Championship on September 19th – the loser will be entered into The Phoenix Challenge later in the evening!
*** “The Anarchist” Arik Cannon returns to PWP, taking on Arya Daivari – no doubt, this will be a classic!
*** The PWP Tag Team Champions, the Murder Militia’s Mark Sterling & #1 Brett Young will defend their titles against former champions, The Northstar Express!
*** Stephen Saint and Mike Sydal have been involved in a heated conflict for months now, but on August 22nd – it all comes to and end as they face off one last time, but this time, it will be No DQ!
*** “Babyface” Tony Cortez will go head to head with Matty Star.
*** And in the main event of the evening, the annual PWP tradition known as the Phoenix Challenge!!! 20 of the top stars in PWP will draw numbers at random to determine the order of entry for this gauntlet style, over the top rope, battle royal! The last man standing after it’s all said and done, will be the new number one contender to the PWP Heavyweight Championship, and will get his shot at the title on Saturday September 19th. The luck of the draw is so very important here, but as we have seen before, ANYTHING can happen in Pro Wrestling Phoenix!!!
