I find it funny that they say "authentic" Lucha Libre. While they do use authentic luchadores, I'm not sure if it's authentic to have comedians on the mic during the matches.
That said, I've gone to LVV twice and it's a good time. Just dont expect all that much authenticity. Well, not in the wrestling anyway.

As I posted elsewhere on another thread they are having trouble securing big names for their events because the wrestlers are uncomfotable with the format of the show.

Ok Rerun and I are going to this, and have a dumb question, which im pretty sure I know the answer..is the comedy show in espanol? if so were screwed, unless they talk about milk or bathrooms?

LUCHAVAVOOM is a sort of skewered combination of burlesque and lucha libre aimed at a mostly anglo audience. I can't see this card drawing too many hispanic lucha libre fans simply because it lacks any real star with drawing power.

It's probably true that it won't draw hispanic lucha libre fans, but I don't think that's the goal here anymore than the Dragon Gate show last week. That one was for the hipster wrestling fans, this one is for your garden variety hipster who like lucha libre in a ironic way.

Agreed. I know that Jack Black attended at least one LUCHA VAVOOM show in "preparation" to play Nacho Libre. Hey I think I'll watch ANGELS IN THE OUTFIELD in preparation for my big baseball career.
