*** The evening was kicked off with a singles match between Rebelucha and Mike Sydal, however the PWP Tag Team Champions, The Murder Militia’s Mark Sterling & Brett Young - decided to crash the party, attacking both men, resulting in a no contest. The Militia went on to claim that they were in charge and could do whatever they wanted, however - Rebelucha and Sydal fought back, and made the challenge for an impromptu tag match, which lead to:
*** Mike Sydal and Rebelucha fought very hard, and nearly had the titles won on several occasions - however, in the end, the tag team experience of Sterling & Young prevailed, and The Murder Militia retained the PWP Tag Team Titles.
Up next, Vic Victory came to the ring, accompanied by Jaysin Strife, Chris Havius, and Donnie Peppercricket. Vic explained that he had been doing a lot of thinking as of late, and due to personal reasons, not least of all, a very long list of injuries, that he has decided to walk away from the wrestling industry - however, not before having 3 final matches with his 3 best friends - the first of which would be later in the evening against Donnie Peppercricket.
*** PWP new-comer David Clark squared off with former Heavyweight Champion - “Babyface” Tony Cortez. Clark did very well, but Cortez proved to be too much, picking up the win.
*** Vic Victory and Donnie Peppercricket had an epic match up. This was the epitome of a fight with honor between two friends. Vic was able to score the win, after hitting a spike headscissors driver. The two ended things with a handshake and a hug. Chris Havius then came out, telling Vic that he would be the next to face him next month - Havius said that while Vic is one of the best friends he’s ever had, that he had no intentions of going easy on him.
The PWP Champion, “The Rebel” Jeremy Wyatt next came out, stating that in his match with Jaysin Strife later in the evening, that not only would the title be on the line, but that the loser would be banned from PWP for the rest of the year.
*** “The Passion” Zac James was to go one on one with “The Canadian Sex Icon” Ryan Slade - however, these two decided that a dance off was more appealing than a wrestling match - this brought out Abu Colossus, saying that he had come for a fight, and was looking to hurt somebody - the match then became a 3-Way Dance, although it was more of a handicap match, with James & Slade double teaming the big man - however in the end, the mighty Colossus proved why he is a force like no other in PWP, picking up the victory.
*** Chris Havius battled The Murder Militia’s Joey Daniels. Havius had the match won, when #1 Brett Young hit him with his One Shot finisher while Joey had the ref distracted, thus allowing Joey to gain a cheap win.
*** In the main event of the evening, Jaysin Strife battled The PWP Heavyweight Champion, the leader of The Murder Militia, “The Rebel” Jeremy Wyatt. These two men fought harder than can be put into words for over 30 minutes. This was truly one of the best main events in company history. In the end, it was Jaysin Strife who scored the 1-2-3 to become the NEW Pro Wrestling Phoenix Heavyweight Champion. Strife thanked the crowd, saying that he has been fighting to win that title for over four years, but that now - finally, all his hard work had paid off. Strife vowed to defend the title not just in PWP, but everywhere he went. The night ended with Strife celebrating in the ring along with Vic Victory, Chris Havius, and Donnie Peppercricket - PWP was finally able to deliver a huge blow to The Murder Militia, with Strife now as champion, and Wyatt barred from the company for the rest of 2009.
What’s next for PWP? How will the remaining members of The Murder Militia respond to the title change? Who will be the first to challenge Strife for his newly won championship?
All these questions will be answered soon, as we look to out next event:
Saturday October 17th.
