3XWrestling Halloween Horror 3 Results - 10/16/09
A very packed crowd at the Des Moines Social Club saw the following:
1. Rory Fox won a battle royal to become the challenger for Jeremy Wyatt's 3XW Heavyweight title later in the night. Also in the battle royal were Devin Carter, Mark Sterling, Maddog McDowell, Casanova, Tony Sly, Tyler Cook, Ryan Slade and AJ Smooth, Brady A. Dezire and 3XW newcomer Sparrow, among others.
- Very impressive performance by Fox, who eliminated Casanova to win the match. Former three-time heavyweight champion Devin Carter was also in the final three
- Interestingly enough, Devin Carter eliminated Tyler Cook, who's always been one of Carter's friends in 3XW and has teamed with him in the past.
After the match, 3XW Heavyweight champion snuck into the ring and attacked Fox from behind in an effort to further soften up his new Heavyweight title challenger.
2. "Laotian Sensation" Ricky Kwong defeated "Right Price" Aaron Masterson
Disaster struck for Masterson before the bell as Kwong smashed him with a chair outside the ring while he was making his ever popular "Price is Right" style entrance from the crowd. Kwong roll him into the ring, the bell rang and Kwong crushed Masterson with a Flying Elbow Drop off the top rope before applying a brutal new submission maneuver for the win. Kwong's winning move involves grapevining Masterson's feet in an STF position while also applying a devastating chinlock, really wrenching back on Masterson's head and neck.
Before the match, Kwong demanded that ring announcer David Andersen announce him as the "Laotian Sensation" Ricky Kwong.
3. "Delicious" Devin Carter defeated Brady A. Dezire following a fistdrop off the second rope. This the first win in the past three months for the former three-time 3XW Heavyweight champion, who has hit an uncharacteristic rough patch as of late after losing the Heavyweight title in August.
4. Sexy & Smooth defeated 3XW Tag Team champions The High Flyers by countout. After the match Sexy & Smooth stole The High Flyers tag team belts and ran off.
5. Mark Sterling & Casanova defeated Maddog McDowell in a 2 on one 1 match set up by 3XW Commissioner Todd Countryman.
After the match 3XW President Skylar Pierce challenged Gage Octane, Mark Sterling & Casanova to face his team of Maddog McDowell, "Rockstar" Jimmy Rockwell & a mystery third person on November 20th. Countryman accepted on the stipulation that if Pierce's team loses he gives up his job as President and if The Gentlemen's Club loses Countryman gives up his Commissioner job.
Following Pierce and Countryman's exchange, Jimmy Rockwell, broken foot and all, came in and assaulted the Gentlemen's Club with a crutch. His crutch actually shattered on the mat, lacerating Sterling's his leg and leading to seven stitches.
6. "Viking Warrior" Kraig Keesaman retained the 3XW Pure Wrestling title by defeating former champion Tyler Cook in a very competitive, back-and-forth match.
7. "Torturous" Tony Sly defeated newcomer Ian Wellington in less than three minutes in an extremely dominant performance.
8. 3XW Heavyweight champion "The Rebel" Jeremy Wyatt defeated Rory Fox in an excellent match after using a low blow while the referee was recovering from being poked in the eye. Prior to the low blow, Fox had Wyatt seemingly beat with a Texas Cloverleaf submission hold.
Moments before Wyatt starting tapping, Wyatt poked the referee in the eye (he claims he was reaching for the ropes). Wyatt began to tap out to the pain of the submission hold, but the referee didn't see Wyatt submit. Fox let go of the hold to check on the ref, leading to Wyatt to nail him with a low blow from behind and roll him up for the win.
