Things began with the Murder Militia coming out and saying that even though Jeremy Wyatt lost the PWP Heavyweight Title to Jaysin Strife last month, and is now banned from PWP for the rest of the year - that the Militia was still in control. Brett Young and Joey Daniels vowed to retain the Tag Team Titles later in the evening, and Mark Sterling vowed to bring the PWP Title back to the Murder Militia by defeating Jaysin Strife.
*** The action got under way with an awesome matchup between Donnie Peppercricket and “Babyface” Tony Cortez. Both men appeared to have the match won at various points, but in the end - Cortez proved that he is still one of the very best in PWP by picking up the win.
*** Up next, the team of “The Canadian Sex Icon” Ryan Slade and “The Passion” Zac James took on the debuting So-Cal Syndicate of Tyler Bateman and Devin Sparks. The California newcomers showed that they are not to be taken lightly, with a very impressive showing - however in the end Slade & James were able to gain the victory.
*** Stephen Saint took on PWP rookie David Clark. Clark continues to improve, this time even scoring an upset, pinning Saint with a rollup - Saint did not take the loss well, and laid out Clark with a piledriver after the match. Clark was helped to the back, but was overheard saying that he won’t stand for Saint’s bullying, and will look to prove that his win was no fluke next month.
*** Up next, Vic Victory’s farewell tour continued as he took on Chris Havius. Havius said that even though the two men are the best of friends, he wanted to do things “his way” - meaning no DQ. These two gave us an epic encounter, with Vic showing that he has more heart than anybody, withstanding tons of punishment from the much larger Havius. In the end, Vic hit a picture perfect 450 splash onto Havius, who was under a steel chair, to score the 1-2-3. These two ended things with a handshake and hug. Vic Victory has one match left before he steps away, which will be next month against Jaysin Strife.
*** Next, the team of Mike Sydal and Matty Star challenged The Murder Militia’s #1 Brett Young and Joey Daniels for the PWP Tag Team Titles. The high flying Sydal and Star gave their all, but the Murder Militia was able to pick up the victory and retain their titles.
*** In the main event, The Murder Militia’s Mark Sterling challenged Jaysin Strife for the PWP Heavyweight Championship. This was a truly amazing matchup, arguably one of the best main events in PWP History. After over 30 minutes of hard fought action - Jaysin Strife was able to retain his title, after hitting Sterling with a sick Northern Lights Bomb.
Our next event will be on Saturday - November 14, 2009 at the National Guard Armory in Council Bluffs, IA.
We now know that the main event will be Jaysin Strife defending the PWP Heavyweight Championship against Vic Victory in Vic’s farewell match. Will Vic be able to retire as champion???
