In one week the collective eyes of the independent wrestling world will be focused on Chicago as AAW returns to the Berwyn Eagles Club on Friday night 1/22 with "Chaos Theory" to kick off a double shot weekend with Dragon Gate USA who will hold their "Fearless" PPV taping at the Congress Theater on Saturday night 1/23. AAW has put together a huge card for "Chaos Theory" and you won't see wrestling at this level anywhere else in the Chicagoland area. In the coming days we will be taking a closer look at the card and we start with two marquee match ups.



AAW HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE

Although both are young men, Silas Young and Jimmy Jacobs are both veterans of the wrestling business with almost twenty years of experience between them. In this time they both have made the sacrifices that are necessary to achieve greatness. Hours on the road, hours of training and hours upon hours of ring time perfecting their craft and in the process taking on some of the best wrestlers on the planet as they rose through the ranks. Longstanding members of the AAW roster, both Young and Jacobs are responsible for helping to build the promotion and are no strangers to one another. In 2006 these two men had a series of outstanding matches for the AAW Heritage title. It was the first championship that either man held in AAW and now they come full circle and compete for the most prestigious prize in the company.

In September of 2009 Jimmy Jacobs finally reached his goal of becoming AAW Heavyweight Champion when he defeated the seemingly unstoppable Jay Bradley. Jacobs run with the belt would be short lived however as at the Windy City Classic in November he put the belt on the line against Shane Hollister and Silas Young in a triple threat match. Up until this time the knock on Silas was that he could not win the "big one". He had come up short in his blood feud with Josh Raymond and the House of Truth. He could not get the win in his epic showdown against Bryan Danielson at AAW's "Us vs Them" and then representing AAW he made it all the way to the finals of the Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup tournament in Florida only to lose to Davey Richards. Silas had something up his sleeve this time however as he had enlisted the aid of the Irish Airborne who made their presence felt and helped cost Jacobs his title. Silas' stunning turn has been the talk of the AAW lockeroom and last month he teamed with the Irish Airborne to take on Jacobs, Tyler Black and Shane Hollister in a six man grudge match. The match was highly competitive and in the end it was Jimmy Jacobs who pinned the AAW Heavyweight Champion in the center of the ring setting up this big title match at "Chaos Theory". Here we have two men in their prime battling for the title and there is bad blood. Can Silas Young survive the onslaught Jacobs is sure to bring and take the title to Dragon Gate USA the next night or will Jimmy Jacobs once again rise to the occasion and become the two time AAW Heavyweight Champion?

Two men with heaps of international experience test their skills against one another in a first time meeting and another marquee match up. After years on the Mexican Lucha Libre scene, Super Crazy made his mark in North America with the original ECW in 1998. His daredevil style mixed with traditional Lucha Libre earned him the nickname "The Insane Luchador". He engaged in a thrilling series of matches with Yoshiro Tajiri and became a fan favorite. After ECW Crazy headed to WWE for a three year run and last year returned to the international circuit and the daredevil style he had refined years earlier working for promotions in Mexico, Japan and most recently Dragon Gate USA.
While Super Crazy had established his name around the globe Davey Richards was an up and coming star on the North American indy scene. Utilizing ruthless strikes and a variety of submissions Richards quickly moved up the ladder in PWG, ROH and a number of other promotions. He debuted for Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan in 2007 where he further refined his hard hitting style. Last year Davey Richards was the break out star of the indy circuit taking his game to a whole new level and making his mark in Dragon Gate USA in a much talked about match where he defeated Shingo. Richards has stated he is in the business to be the absolute best and take on the highest level of competition. Nothing less will satisfy him. Now Richards returns to AAW to take on the Insane Luchador in an interesting clash of styles. In recent months Richards has referred to himself as a hunter and it looks like Super Crazy is in his sights at Chaos Theory.

Two of the most popular stars on the companies roster face off for the first time in AAW as Tyler Black takes on Shane Holilster with a future title shot on the line. Black and Hollister have been friends dating all the way back to high school where both shared the dream of one day breaking into the wrestling business. When Black went to Danny Daniels for training Shane Hollister soon followed suit. In just a few short years, Tyler Black rose through the ranks and has become one of the hottest young stars in the business today winning the AAW Heavyweight Championship two times in the process. He's traveled the world and taken on the cream of the crop on the independent scene. Shane Hollister is now in the middle of his ascent through the ranks and had a breakout year in 2009 where he began to obtain recognition on a national level. Now these two young Iowa natives paths cross and they must face each other to see who is next in line for a shot at the AAW title. Friendships will be put on hold as Tyler Black tries to once again achieve the ultimate goal in AAW and Shane Hollister tries to break through to the upper echelon of the roster.

THE HOUSE OF TRUTH w/ Truth Martini and Val Malone

The House of Truth are arguably the most dominate stable in the history of AAW. Within the last year Truth Martini has built what looks to be an unstoppable force with the young powerhouse Christian Able, the crafty veteran Josh Raymond and the big enforcer Mason Beck. Now for the first time all three men team together to take on long time adversaries The Phoenix Twins and Dan Lawrence. The Phoenix Twins dropped the AAW Tag Team titles to Able and Raymond last year and have been unable to regain them largely due to the numbers advantage the H.O.T brings to the table. Dan Lawrence has had issues with Truth Martini for years and has recently gone right after the huge Mason Beck. Last month Dash Phoenix was the victim of an attack in the parking lot and taken out of action. When the H.O.T attempted a four on one beatdown of Lawrence it was Tweek Phoenix who made the save and challenged Martini's men to this six man grudge match. Truth has accepted and looks at this match as a means to take out all of his enemies in one fell swoop. No titles on the line this Friday night, just bad blood in a match that has the potential to get out of control in a hurry.

Here we have a battle of two teams that have both made big statements in the last year but have done so in very different ways. Zero Gravity have been a part of some of the most competitive and exciting matches AAW has ever seen with a kamikaze style that fans have grown to appreciate. The Irish Airborne came into AAW in 2009 highly touted but struggled to climb the rankings in AAW's deep tag division. After dropping a fall to Zero Gravity at the Windy City Classic the Crist brothers would shock everyone and align themselves with the AAW Heavyweight Champion Silas Young. Last month they interfered in a contest between Zero Gravity and Faith in Nothing spike piledriving CJ Esparza. Now the Airborne look to avenge their loss to Esparza and Gakiya while Zero Gravity look for retribution at the Chaos Theory Friday night.

Six exciting and innovative athletes enter the mayhem match with hopes of taking on Silas Young at Dragon Gate USA the next night in a possible AAW Heavyweight Title match. Aeroform (Flip Kendrick/Louis Lyndon) must put friendship aside and compete against each other in this unique match while Trik Davis looks for his biggest win since returning to AAW. CHIKARA is well represented in this match as well with Jigsaw, Hallowicked and Gran Akuma all brining their unique style to the mix. Expect non stop excitement in this one.
