A very solid show. I especially enjoyed the Cairo/Amani vs. Blue/Gameboy and the Ramsey/Bishop matches. The Ruff/Reaper match was an interesting one with two totally different styles. The main event was good, too. It was well worth the drive to Michigan for the show. I found it difficult to believe, but it appeared that they had less snow on the ground in the central part of Michigan than we have in Chicagoland. I wouldn't have guessed that. I also saw something to make me thankful for--on the drive from my hotel in Clare to Gladwin, I met an Amish family in the horse-driven cart. Darn, they looked cold. It made me thankful to have a car with HEAT! I also am thankful that people of any religious belief can live, worship, and hold onto their beliefs. I saw two Amish families during my roughly 24 hours in Michigan. It has to take a ton of faith to forego modern conveniences and live in the manner that these folks do. Usually I'm in Michigan in the summer and often stop at roadside sales some of the Amish ladies have. I find these people very interesting to talk to. It's just they have a very different view of things than I do. Well, I digressed. However, I really had a good time at the UWE show. Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to make it to the April show as things stand right now. I've never been disappointed with the UWE product.

BTW, the high school gym was a great place for the show. I hope the UWE holds more shows there.
Just one question--what the hell is a Flying G?

O.K., I have the answer. I e-mailed a person in the athletic department at the school. This is the response I received:
It's just a flying G (G for Gladwin). We have come to use a goshawk costume as a mascot because it's kind of hard to just have a big letter G as one.
There you go.
