The CLPW Village once again filed into the Stratford Banquet Hall in downtown Harvard, IL last Saturday night (4/24) to enjoy another fun, exciting evening of CLPW action.
-AC/DC's "Back in Black" blasted throughout the Stratford to open the show as ring announcer Mike Vest came out escorted by three lovely CLPW valets in Crystal, Dallas & Lola.
-Folk Singer & recording artist Ted Aliotta did a respectful performance of our country's national anthem.
1. "The Latin Lover" Tony Rican vs "The Strangler" Diego Corleone (10 min time limit)
This was a very entertaining opening match with Tony Rican making his CLPW debut. The CLPW Village showed their support for the newcomer Tony Rican as he came close to picking up his first CLPW victory. The 10-minute time limit expired making this match a Draw.
Nick H from On The Mat fame came out sporting new threads to make his huge announcement. Nick H (My terrific co-host for The Anchovie's Corner) apologized to the loyal fans for his past actions/comments. He bought the majority of stocks in CLPW and has some ownership in the company.
Manager Ryland Foxx came out to spoil Nick H's major moment and called the entire CLPW Village a bunch of "uneducated hillbillies". Thunderfoot stormed in the ring from behind to attack his former manager and new CLPW owner-Nick H.
2. December vs Mia Martinez (8 min time limit)
The CLPW Village loves to see the ladies and these two did not disappoint. It was back-n-fourth action with the lovely December scoring the pin.....aka Davey Boy Smith vs Bret Hart in SummerSlam '92 fashion
3. "The Trademark" Nathan Pepple vs Johnny Michael Armonni (15 min time limit) for the Missouri State Championship.
Former best friends turned bitter enemies made this a CLPW classic. A stipulation was added that if Trademark were to lose then he'd be out a year. Armonni would quit wrestling forever if he lost. The Trademark ended tapping out to a version of the Texas Clover Leaf. A move not seen too often in this day. Armonni is the new Missouri State Champion.
"Classic" Chris Hamilton came out to support his CLPW Tag Team Championship partner in Trademark only to get stabbed in the back. "Silent Intensity" Austin Roberts formed a new bond with the now suspended Trademark to form Afflicted, Inc. The CLPW Tag Team Title is now vacant.
**************Huge announcement was made by ring announcer Mike Vest. The Poisonous Anchovie and his goofball flunky Howeird Howie are CLPW's newest reporters. Look for us to provide match results, interviews with talent and fans and other upcoming CLPW news********************
4. Texas Pete vs Thunderfoot (managed by Ryland Foxx) (12 min time limit)
Texas Pete from Eugene, Or knows how to electrify a crowd with his dancing. Unfortunately his wrestling wasn't enough to get a "W". Thunderfoot scored the pinfall with a thunderous chop from the top rope.
5. CLPW Pro-X Champion Jayson Kross vs Irish Andy Anderson in a Falls Count Anywhere match.
Another bitter rivalry that was fought all over the Stratford. The crowd had to avoid the battle from these two great wrestlers. Young Jayson Kross was "cooking" when he nailed Anderson with a baking pan. Thunderfoot and Ryland Foxx would cause a distraction and allowed the Irishman to become the new Pro-X Champion. Hats off to Jayson for a respectful title run.
***********15 minute Intermission Break******************
6. "He's All That" Steve Boz(Dreamwave Alternative Title) vs The Galactic Grappler (CLPW Heavy Weight Championship) in a Title vs Title match (15 min time limit)
A great match for everyone except for the clown in the front row wearing his fedora. The only Double G fan at ringside sat and watched as Steve Boz was crowned the new CLPW Champion. The fans had been waiting a long time to see Boz take the gold home for CLPW.
7. Main Event "Clash for Gold" Battle Royal where winner gets a shot at any CLPW title.
1. The lovely December
2. "The Main Event"Joshua Christian (newcomer)
3. Jayson Kross
4. "Classic" Chris Hamilton
5. Justice Jones (newcomer)
6. Texas pete
7. Steve Boz
8. Mia Martinez
9. "The Strangler" diego Corleone
10. Irish Andy Anderson
11. Balistic Brent Myers (newcomer)
12. Marco Polo
13. Austin Roberts
14. JT Simmons
15. Thunderfoot
16. Jarod Priest
17. Mike Vest (WHY?)
A great Battle Royal that ended in a tie as the two finalists Jarod Priest and newcomer Justice Jones fell off the apron and landed on the floor at the same moment. Dual winners for now.
Major dates to look for:
-May 22nd in East Dundee, IL will have a tournament to crown new CLPW Tag Champions
-June 19th in Union, IL will have new CLPW Champion Steve Boz vs Austin Roberts and also Justice Jones vs Jarod Priest to settle the "Clash for Gold" situation.
More info in the upcoming weeks. Thanks to all the new fans that made it out to Harvard. It was a great night. Look for my interview with Ryland Foxx and a couple of new fans.
