The First Annual
Mayor Daley’s Wrestling Festival
at Navy Pier
Saturday, June 5th, 2010
Location:
The First Annual Mayor Daley’s Wrestling Festival will be held at Chicago’s historic Navy Pier in Exhibit Hall B on the upper level.
Navy Pier is at 600 E. Grand Ave., Chicago, IL.
Schedule:
Participants will be blocked by weights and will wrestle in a round robin format. Each participant will be guaranteed two matches and many will likely have three.
Matches will be conducted on eight consecutive mats.
Wrestlers not wearing proper clothing will not be permitted to wrestle.
Medals will be awarded to the top two placing athletes in each weight block.
Schedule:
07:00am – 08:00am: Registration and Weigh-ins
09:30am – 04:00pm: Mayor Daley’s Wrestling Festival
Registration Fee:
$15 during Pre-Registration Period
$20 to Register at the Door (while bracket slots remain available)
Admission:
The First Annual Mayor Daley’s Wrestling Festival and all related events are free for spectators.
Related Events:
World Sport Chicago, the Chicago Coaches Wrestling Association and the Illinois Kids Wrestling Federation will host a rules clinics and technique demonstrations throughout the day. Come watch top-rank athletes and area college athletes as they instruct on the basic rules and more advanced techniques.
Olympians and all-stars will also be on hand for meet-and-greets and autographs.
The First Annual Mayor Daley's Wrestling Festival will also be held in conjunction to the Chicago Healthy Living Challenge, a free event hosted by NBC Chicago.
