I was shocked when I read about Marshe Rockett's heel turn to join the A-List. I wonder who else might join Ryland Foxx, "Next" Nick Brubaker and the rest of that full-of-themselves crew. I must say that it's sad to see "Prince" Mustafa Ali hang it up, but what a way to go -- wrestling against "The Human Highlight Reel" Acid. Yes, real life sometimes calls, but Ali was one of THE shining stars on the local scene. I do hope the next chapter in his life brings him even more success than he attained in the many promotions he wrestled for both in Illinois and beyond. --- I realize this is way after the fact, but this is the first chance I've really had to spend any time on the board lately. Hopefully it won't take me this long next time to share updates! In any case, I wanted to let those who don't visit anywhere other than the Upcoming Shows forum, know that one of my Pro Wrestling Extra topics featured two tribute videos to Ali and more of my thoughts on his retirement. You can check out that online-only article at: blogs.southtownstar.com/entertainment/2010/06/pro_wrestling_extra.htmlA few notes about using the "Leave a comment" feature on the blog: -- While there is a field asking you to provide your e-mail address, that e-mail address will not be shown to the public once your comment is posted. -- The grey Captcha box sometimes trips up people because it's hard to see and very particular about the characters being typed in exactly. To be on the safe side, you should copy your text elsewhere before hitting the Submit button in case the Captcha kicks out your comment. -- If you've used the "Leave a comment" feature correctly, you'll get a message saying that your submission is pending approval. Note: I approve all non-spam comments as soon as I see they have been submitted.
