On Saturday evening, June 26th, CHIKARA makes its debut in the greater Detroit area as we play the Taylortown Trade Center! This event is made possible thanks to our pals CLASH Wrestling of Michigan! A wide array of CHIKARA's finest will be joining us for this event, which will consist of at least 7 matches. Here's what's currently on tap:
They are the reigning King of Trios - Claudio Castagnoli, Ares and Tursas of the Bruderschaft. As a threesome, they seem virtually unbeatable, and they have shown that they know how to prepare for anything CHIKARA can throw at them...which is exactly why Da Soul Touchaz from Chi-town might be the perfect pick to knock them from their perch. Acid Jaz, Marshe Rockett and Willie Richardson haven't appeared in a CHIKARA since the formation of the BDK, and that gives them an edge none of the CHIKARA regulars enjoy. Boxed out of King of Trios 2010, can Da Soul Touchaz redeem themselves and shatter the BDK in the process?
With three points to their credit, the last thing Equinox and Helios want is to lose a tag team match before cashing in for their title shot. So, The Future Is Now will (wisely) play it safe on June 26th, when we hit Taylor. They'll team with 3.0 for the very first time, taking on the combined might of The UnStable and F.I.S.T. The issues between these four teams is no secret, but one must wonder how well Helios will get along with the charismatic Canadians who, during their time under the guise of The Badd Boyz, handed him quite a beating. Recent events have shown that Colin Delaney, Equinox's brother, will interfere on behalf of the UnStable, which adds just another x-factor to this tense match-up.
Both teams are former Campeones de Parejas. Each has staked a legitimate claim at being the finest tag team today. On June 26th though, only one will walk away with a point toward title contention. Will it be the recently dethroned champs of Fire Ant and Soldier Ant? Or the unpredictable Canadian duo, who saw their careers reach their zenith during CHIKARA's last trip to the midwest? All pleasantries will be put aside when The Colony looks to get back on the board, and the Super Smash Brothers have no intention of letting another point slip from their grip...
The new generation of CHIKARA is about to go head-to-head with a decidedly older generation. Back from hip replacement surgery, for what is likely a one-night-only comeback, it's Darkness Crabtree, of all people. Opposing him is the upstart whippersnapper Green Ant, of the ever-popular Colony, who most recently made it all the way to the finals of the biggest pro-wrestling tournament of the year (the kids are calling it "King of Trios.") It's rookie versus veteran when we hit Michigan in June!
