As a rule, I generally don't comment on matches I am involved in. However, last night's Hunter Paine/Willie Richardson match was, to use someone else's phrase, awesome. This was a match that you could not gauge how good it was by cheers or boos, it was the fact that you heard collective gasps every time either of these two big men hit a move on the other one that showed how good a match it was. I would look up and see mouths gape open, hands going up to faces, just the sheer shock of what these two did to each other had the fans blown away. All I can say is, I hope I get to be involved in the August 24 rematch in Bourbonnais, I think it will be one for the Chicago Wrestling History books. Make the trip, you can't afford to miss this.

It had been a while since I had a chance to check out VWAA live, and I must say that Better than the Best was a fun time. Joey Marx definitely has the fans' support, although my hand was smarting for quite some time after he slapped my hand during one of his many rounds around the ring. Yes, I am a wimp! LOL. DY&H unfortunately are continuing their dominance, so it's probably going to be nauseating to have to hear "The Demon King of Hardcore" Atlas J. Horn continue to gloat about his kingship, while Ben Cruise, Jordan Pryde and Amazin' Kuan unfathomably get to still collectively hold the tag-team belts. I wonder if there will be more jawing between Kuan and Pryde now that Kuan nabbed the inaugural Frontline medal for winning BttB. Maybe this will be the beginning of the end for this faction, which can only mean a chance for the good guys to finally get back some gold. Vwaareporter, do you have any scoop on why "1-Up Playa" Ovirload did not wrestle in his scheduled match? Given his pre-show comments, I was surprised that he was a no-show. -- For those who don't visit anywhere other than the Upcoming Shows forum, one of my Pro Wrestling Extra topics featured comments from "Hell's Cowboy" Hunter Paine, "The Urban American Dream" Willie "Da Bomb" Richardson, Daniel Zigwa, Brawn the Lumberjack, Johnny Wild, Jordan Pryde, "1-Up Playa" Ovirload and "Mad Dog" Ivan Manson as well as a video preview of the Better than the Best tournament. blogs.southtownstar.com/entertainment/2010/07/pro_wrestling_extra_a_conversa_16.html
