PCW would like to thank all of the fans who braved a blizzard to see our annual 16 man tournament! The night was fast paced with all of the PCW wrestlers competing for the honor of Quest for the Cup champion with a guaranteed title shot of his choice at any time within the following year. The matches were decided at random, and as a result it was a very interesting and surprising night.
Before the tournament started, the current PCW Heavyweight Champion Joe Heisman came to the ring and predicted that Chris Styles of Simmons, Inc would win the tournament. Heisman went so far as to shake Styles' hand before the match began. Then he and December sat and watched the tournament to scope the potential challengers.
Round One:
Chris Styles w/ Jenna Monroe def. Rion Skillz
"The Main Event" Joshua Christian def. Jarod Priest
The next match saw two tag team partners battling each other. Last Year's Cup winner Matt Creed took on his Youth Gone Wild teammate Tom Heisman. However, it was ruled a No Contest when Simmons, Inc interrupted the match and attempted to further injure the PCW Tag Champs. But Youth Gone Wild fought back and walked away promising their revenge on Simmons, Inc. next month.
G.P.A. (Geoffrey Percival Austere) was announced as JT Simmons opponent. However, JT offered G.P.A. a large sum of money under the terms that JT would advance in the tournament. G.P.A. claimed to have an injured knee and said that the fans did not deserve to watch him compete. G.P.A. accepted the money and limped away from the ring, syaing that he was still undefeated.
"Legendary" Aaron Cruise w/ Jenna Monroe def. Wilhelm Flannagan
"Big" Leon Tatum w/ Jenna Monroe def. "The Flying Nightmare" Austin Krueger
The Butcher def. "2 Gun" Kevin Dunn w/ Wyatt Lynch
Daniel Allure w/ Jenna Monroe def. Robert Michaels
During the first round, Jenna Monroe grabbed the microphone and told PCW fans that Simmons, Inc. was the future of PCW and they had put the entire Chicago Connection in the hospital. With their biggest threat out of the way, she promised that Simmons Inc. would be unstoppable and PCW would never be the same.
Round 2:
Chris Styles w/ Jenna Monroe def. "The Main Event" Joshua Christian
JT Simmons got a bye because the Creed/Heisman match was ruled a No Contest
"Big" Leon Tatum w/ Jenna Monroe was supposed to face "Legendary" Aaron Cruise, but JT Simmons ordered Cruise to lay down so Tatum could get the win. Cruise followed his boss' instructions, and Tatum advanced in the tournament.
The Butcher def. Daniel Allure w/ Jenna Monroe
6 Man Tag Match:
Gen Pop and JTW def. Wally Wilde, Shawn Davis, and Rion Skillz. The special referee was Johnny Mac and much to the fans delight, Mac was super kicked.
Round 3 (Semi-Finals):
JT Simmons w/ Jenna Monroe def. Chris Styles. Noting that he would have to face his boss, Styles challenged him to a "true gentleman's fight"- a staring contest. Styles fell as Simmons looked at him, and JT covered Styles for the 1-2-3. Simmons advanced to the finals and Styles threw an unconvincing tantrum.
The Butcher def. "Big" Leon Tatum w/ Jenna Monroe
Immediately after the Butcher won, JT Simmons stormed the ring and attacked The Butcher, refusing to wait another second.
Tournament Final Match:
The Butcher def. JT Simmons w/ Jenna Monroe
Despite being attacked from the start, The Butcher pinned JT Simmons and became the 2010 Power Cup Winner!
Before the celebration could happen, Butcher called for the mic and and said he wanted to keep the night going. After asking Summit if they had one more match left in them, he challenged Joe Heisman right then and there. Joe Heisman came to the ring
and told Butcher that "he wasn't as dumb as he looked." Heisman said that if Butcher wanted to fight him after having five previous matches and losing to him last month in a hardcore match, then he was all for the idea.
The Butcher def. Joe Heisman (C) w/ December to become the NEW PCW Heavyweight Champion!!
After The Butcher's hand was raised, the PCW lockerroom flooded to the ring to congratulate The Butcher on his remarkable win. Joe Heisman and December looked on in disbelief and retreated to the back. The fans roared with approval and cheered The Butcher on one of his best nights.
