3XW - Last One on Locust Results - March 4, 2011
Thanks to the packed crowd who helped us close out wrestling at the Locust location before the Des Moines Social Club moves to a new venue in the future.
3XW's next event is Spring Showdown 2, April 22 at AllPlay in downtown Des Moines.
1. The Horndogs (Maddog McDowell and Krotch) with Skylar Pierce successfully defended the 3XW Tag Team titles over The Mylan Management Agency ("The Laotian Sensation" Ricky Kwong and The Mauler with Chad Mylan).
2. "Sexier" A.J. Smooth beat former partner "Smoother" Ryan Slade after interference by Smooth's Genesis teammates "Torturous" Tony Sly and "Silent Assassin" Ben Sailer. Sly distracted the referee after Slade nailed Smooth with the Canadian Destroyer piledriver, which allowed Sailer to come in through the arena doors and blast Slade with a brass knuckles-assisted punch. Sailer placed Smooth on top of Slade and Smooth got the pin.
3. Six-Man Tag Team match - Genesis (Casanova and American Ground & Air (Ben Sailer and Nate Bash) defeated The High Flyers ("The Unbreakable" Zach Thompson & Mike Sydal) and Shane Hollister. At one point in the bout, Sydal springboarded off the top rope and grabbed a part of the lighting grid above the ring, allowing him to hang high above the ring and avoid an attack.
4. "The Rockstar" Jimmy Rockwell successfully defended the 3XW Pure Wrestling championship over Genesis member "Delicious" Devin Carter.
5. Tony Sly of Genesis defeated "The Right Price" Aaron Masterson
6. Sir Bradley Charles picked up a major win over Genesis member and former 3XW Heavyweight champion Gage Octane. This is the third time that SBC, a second-year pro, has pinned a former 3XW Heavyweight champion.
7. Triple Threat Elimination Match - "The Rebel" Jeremy Wyatt eliminated both Knight Wagner and "The American Fury" Jon West to win the match and beat two more of 3XW's young stars. Following the match, all members of Genesis (comprised of disgruntled founding members of the 3XW roster) came to the ring to see if Wyatt accepted their offer to join the group - and he gave them all high fives! Wyatt, however, would be strangely absent from the main event Lumberjack Match.
8. 3XW Heavyweight Championship Lumberjack match - Brian Ash with 3XW Commissioner Todd Countryman of Genesis defended the belt over Mark Sterling after Zach Thompson shockingly turned on Sterling, hitting him with a briefcase as Sterling had Ash tapping to the Markshooter. Despite Ash submitting, the referee was down. Ash followed up Thompson's assault by crushing Sterling with the Devastator for the win.
Previous to Thompson's assault, the other Genesis and 3XW lumberjacks brawling throughout the match reached a boiling point and they massive group brawled to the back. Thompson stayed back at ringside, keeping an eye on Countryman - or so the fans thought. Unfortunately, one of 3XW's most popular young stars is the newest member of Genesis!
After the match, Thompson's now former partner Mike Sydal came to the aid of Sterling and ran Thompson and Ash from the ring with a steel chair. Former 3XW president Skylar Pierce came back out to the ring, grabbing the mic and passionately announcing that now is the time for 3XW's stars unite to take on the Genesis and declaring that anyone who is on 3XW's side in this battle should stand in the ring with him right now. An emotional scene followed as 3XW stars, security, staff and even fans gathered in and out of the ring.
