Pro Wrestling Blitz's Throwdown was held Saturday June 4th, 2011 at the VFW Cantigny Post 367 in Joliet, IL, headlined by an insane and bloody main event that capped off a perfect night for the Professionals.
Match 1: "Rockstar" Jimmy Rockwell vs. No Limits Champion, "Latin Lover" Tony Rican
The Joliet faithful were solidly behind the No Limits champ, while newcomer Jimmy Rockwell was distracted by the crowd and lacked focus in the match. Rockwell stalled and stalled until Rican came at him with a back flipping kick in the corner and a headslam for 2. Rican introduced Rockstar to several of the fans at ringside, allowing them to slap Jimmy across the face. Tony got a hurracanrana for a 2 count, but Rockwell caught him with an elbow on a charge, allowing him to take control with a tilt-a-whirl face plant. Rockwell went for sunset flip, but the Latin Lover rolled through it and hit a basement dropkick to come back. Jimmy turned the tables, however, and propped Rican up on the top turnbuckle. The champ successfully battled him off and hit a top rope dropkick for a close 2 count. Rican went for his inverted DDT, but Rockwell grabbed the ref, then kicked Tony low amidst the confusion. He went to powerbomb the Latin Lover, but Rican leapt overhead and got a sunset flip for what everything thought was 3, but only 2. Rockstar reversed an irish whip, but Rican ducked a clothesline and got a snapping crucifix for the win in 11:02.
Match 2: "Walking Aphrodesiac" Matty Star (w/"Bosnian Bombshell" Sinella) vs. "Urban American Dream" Willie "Da Bomb" Richardson
Star took the mic after his enterance and challenged anyone in the audience, then laid out an open challenge to the locker room, which was answered by the debuting Willie "Da Bomb". While Willie was hyping up the crowd, Star attacked him from behind but didn't stay on him and suffered some potatoes for his mistake. After a 295 lbs dropkick, Richardson called for the Pounce but Star exited through the ropes. The Aphrodesiac payed homage to the Macho Man here, pulling Sinella in front of him and then sneak attacking Willie when he moved her out of the way. Back in the ring, Matty hit an enzeguri and a quebrada for 2, but missed a 2nd quebrada attempt, which Willie answered with a huge 2nd rope elbow for 2. They battled up the turnbuckles, a battle Willie won when he hit a super atomic drop and a Pounce, knocking Star to the outside. Da Bomb pulled Star back into the ring, but missed a charge in the corner. Matty rolled up the big man in a school boy with his foot on the ropes for the pin in 7:51.
Match 3: "Canadian Sex Icon" Ryan Slade (w/Ashton Vuitton) vs. Hardcore Craig
Slade took the mic before the match, saying he was supposed to wrestle Egotistico Fantastico for the Blitz Championship, but apparently Ego's taking a vacation day, so he instead will take on the old champion. Slade ragged on Hardcore Craig until Craig charged the ring, wiped his feet on Slade's Canadian flag and nearly blasted Slade with it. A chase ensued and Craig caught up to Ashton. Slade came charging but collied with Vuitton. Craig then took Slade around ringside so a young fan could get some licks in. As Craig was getting back in the ring, Slade cut him off with a knee lift, followed by a neckbreaker for 2. Vuitton got some shots and chokes in whenever Slade could distract the ref. The Thunder Bay native got a reverse chin lock on, but Craig countered that with an electric chair. Craig got a belly to belly suplex and a Michinoku Driver for 2, then called for the Hardcore Hangover. Slade threw some elbows to escape Craig's finishing move. Ashton grabbed Craig's leg as he hit the ropes, to which Craig responded by grabbing Ashton, who had ahold of the Canadian Flag. With the ref's attention on Slade, Vuitton caught Craig in the throat with the flagpole, allowing Slade to hit the Ry-plex Mach 2 for the win in 9:09. The Professionals at this point were 2 for 2 on the evening.
Match 4: Masaru and Dysfunction vs. Neo-Tokyo and "The Insurance Policy" Tony Scarpone
This match was made in direct response to Dysfunction's use of his pipe and Masaru's use of green mist last month. Neo wore a mask to protect himself from the mist. Masaru wanted nothing to do with his twin brother, tagging out whenever Neo tagged in. Neo-Tokyo looked good against Dys until he got caught with an elbow on a suicide dive attempt to the outside. An Irish Whip reversal sent Dys into the apron and then back into the ring. Dys was bent over as Neo came off the top with a knee drop for 2. Neo went for a sunset flip but Dys hit his double foot stomp to tag Masaru in. Neo got his boot up on a Masaru charge in the corner, but Masaru was able to hit a front spike slam anyway for 2. Dys and Masaru showed good tag chemistry here, keeping Neo-Tokyo in their corner and making quick tags. Dys went for a powerbomb, but Neo landed on his feet behind him to make the tag to Scarpone. Scarpone cleaned house, throwing Dys to the floor and getting an atomic drop on Masaru as Neo followed with a DDT. Neo followed that with a Saito Suplex for the win in 8:11. Afterward, Dys tried to attack Scarpone with a pipe like last month but Scarpone blocked the swing and slammed Dys across the shoulder with the pipe.
Match 5 (Triple Threat): "Messiah of the Spine Buster" Machine (w/Cyanide) vs. Super Mario vs. Gilbert Lewis
Gilbert and Mario worked together and their shenanigans shockingly worked against Machine until Cyanide fired him up by slapping him across the face. Gilbert and Mario went for a double suplex, but Machine reversed that by suplexing both guys, Road Warrior Animal style. Machine hit a chokeslam on Gilbert and dumped Mario to the outside. As Machine continue to choke Lewis in the ring, Cyanide laid a heavy handed beating on Super Mario before throwing him back in the ring. Machine bodyslammed Gilbert over the back of Mario, then stepped on and over both of them. Gilbert considered escaping to the locker room, but Cyanide brought him back as Mario tried to fight back against Machine. Gilbert managed to get back into the ring and he and Mario were successful on a second double suplex attempt. As Mario marched around in celebration, Gilbert caught him off guard with the Square Root. Gilbert didn't cover him right way, allowing Cyanide time to pull him out of the ring. Machine then hit Mario with a sit out choke bomb and a splash for the win in 9:17. Cyanide was pleased with what he saw in Machine. Machine continued to stomp down Gilbert, but Cyanide pulled him off, as if to say "save a little for next time."
Main Event (No Disqualifications): Zach Thompson (w/Rinaldo Piven) vs. "Waterboy" Mike Horning
If Zach won, he wouldn't have to wrestle in a dress anymore. If Horning won, Zach would have to wrestle in a dress for the rest of his career. Piven took the mic and said he'd normally be upset with the lack of respect Joliet was showing him, but he was very happy because the Professionals were about to have a perfect night. For a second, Thompson and Horning went nose to nose but that erupted in fist-a-cuffs. Waterboy cross body blocked Thompson over the top rope to the outside. The match spilled out over the guardrail and into the crowd. Horning held Thompson so kids could put lipstick on him, however that got there. As they approached the concession stand, Thompson roared at a group of young fans following the action and they scattered like mice. Back in the ring, Thompson got a clothesline after Horning missed a slingshot flipping legdrop attempt from the apron. Zach then went under the ring and introduced a garbage can full of plunder to the match. Thompson wrapped chain three or four times around Horning's face and pulled back in a reverse chin lock. Horning got a brief comeback when Zach missed a corner charge, but the Waterboy missed with the chain and Thompson got the advantage back with a dropkick. Horning tried to get up but Thompson nailed him across the back with a wet floor sign for a 2-count. The same sign came back into play shortly thereafter when Horning bodyslammed Thompson on it after ducking a wild punch. Horning put a wig on Thompson, then trapped him in a taranchula to weaken his dress-clad opponent. Horning slammed Thompson, laid the trash can over him, but got caught with the can as Thompson threw it at Horning's face while coming down with a 2nd rope splash. Zach got a 2 count, then bent a tiki torch over Horning's forehead for 2. Out of nowhere, the Joliet native got a jawbreaker and northern lights suplex for 2. Horning then got a picture frame and shattered the glass over the forehead of Zach Thompson! Broken glass showered the ring as Thompson began to bleed heavily from the back of his head down his back. The Waterboy took a trash can lid with him to the 2nd rope and hit a moonsault for a close 2. Zach got a hold of the lid but didn't have much behind 2 shots until a 3rd one blasted Horning and sent him head first into the tiki torch for 2. Thompson went and got a door and set it up across the 2nd rope. The two combatants battled up onto this door being used like a platform until Thompson kicked Horning off. Horning charged back at him and used the door to plant his feet and hit a brilliant belly to belly superplex. Rinaldo Piven broke up the pin, recognizing his man being in danger of losing and having to wrestle in a dress from now on. Horning got ahold of Piven and laid him across the platformed door. Thompson capitalized on this and destroyed Horning with the garbage can twice, then hit his enzeguri, causing Horning to fall on one of the door's corners during his fall. Zach repositioned the door so it was propped up at an angle against the garbage can in the middle of the ring, then proceeded to take a leather strap and go to town on Horning's back. Thompson set up a chair by the 2nd drop, sat Horning on the top turnbuckle, and went for a bulldog from the chair but Horning shoved it off. Waterboy got down, ducked a clothesline and hit a German release suplex for 2. Piven got on the apron with a cookie sheet, but Horning wrestled that away from him and hit him with a drop kick. Before he could hit Thompson with the sheet though, Zach busted a floor tile into pieces over Horning's head. Thompson went up the ropes with Horning as if he were going for a tornado DDT, but Horning began to fight back. Zach's leverage advantage, however, helped him to grab Horning for a Dublin Driver from the 2nd rope through the propped up door for the incredible victory at the 19:41 mark!
