With our big return weekend being just under 2 weeks away, after alot of hard work and planning we are pleased to announce that the full card has been set for "What A Horrible Night To Crown A Champion", where we will decide who is the best in P2W by deciding the first champion of Paradox Wrestling. In this preview, we will recap previous shows that led us to this point and highlight why those selected in the tournament are getting this great opportunity.
Non-Tournament Match: Bam Hanson vs. Mr. NiftySome fans out there may not be familiar with the debuting Bam Hanson, but he has been around the Indiana wrestling scene for many years now. Until recently, he wrestled under the name Bam Morgan, but Bam has been around the entire state and wrestled for many key organizations, including Ohio Valley Wrestling at the time when they were a WWE Developmental Territory. He has a tall task against one of Michigan's brightest young stars Mr. Nifty. Nifty wrestled on the debut show "Dawn of the Paradox" in a weapons battle royal where he defeated Lance Uppercut. Though out of his element in that match, Nifty is a charismatic competitor quickly gaining more and more experience under his belt. It's been a full year since we saw him last, it's certainly possible for him to have the breakout performance of the show.
Non-Tournament Six Man Tag Match: The BeBe Boys vs. Main Street YouthThis is a feud that has been going since day 1 in Paradox Wrestling. The BeBe Boys (Scotty Young, Ryan Rage, and Tony X) debuted by forcing themselves on the show and attacking Sean Tyler and Chris Ross after the opening match. After being chased off by Main Street Youth members Jake Omen, Adam Bueller, and Ryan Epic, the challenge was made for the main event on the debut show: BeBes vs. MSY. During intermission of that show, The BeBe Boys brutally attacked Ryan Epic, forcing him out of competition. Ryan Epic vowed revenge against them, stating he would go through each and every one of them. On "Mulligan", he took on Tony X in a grudge match, defeating him, and winning his respect. Being the only member of The BeBe Boys that showed up to the event, Tony X felt betrayed by his stable mates and defected to Main Street Youth, filling the void left by Jake Omen after relocating to Florida. So now Main Street Youth, consisting of Adam Bueller, Ryan Epic, and Tony X have been challenged by Scotty Young, who has announced that he will be bringing 2 new members of the BeBe Boys to replace Tony X, and the recently retired Ryan Rage.
In each first round match, the bracketing has been set up that will put each person who won their qualifying match on the first show will be up against one of the 4 chosen members of the championship committee's choosing.
P2W Championship Tournament First Round Match: Russ Jones vs. Jack VervilleAt this stage in Paradox Wrestling, Russ Jones is one of only 2 people to receive 2 opportunities at winning a championship. At "DOTP", he was granted a shot at the Insanity Pro Wrestling Mid American Championship taking on the current champion, Joseph Schwartz. Jones narrowly lost the match, which made him hungrier and a much more aggressive individual. Russ was left off the card for "Mulligan", so after the first match on the show, he decided to take his frustrations out on the participants of the opening match. He voiced his frustrations by saying he was sick of seeing all these "150 pound skinny wrestlers" on the show without even being contacted to wrestle. After an altercation with Adam Bueller, Jones was placed in a qualifying match where he completely dismantled Bueller, granting him a place in the tournament. His opponent in the first round is the only other person to receive 2 championship opportunities. Despite loosing to Jynx on the debut show, Jack Verville was granted his own interpromotional title shot, the Victory Independent Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Championship. Though Jack lost to champion Keith Creme, he and Keith both gave what many consider to be the top performance so far in Paradox Wrestling. Because of this, Jack was selected to be placed in the tournament.
P2W Championship Tournament First Round Match: Jimmy Shalwin vs. Joseph SchwartzIt speaks volumes to the type of competitor Jimmy Shalwin is for his debut match in Paradox Wrestling to be part of the championship tournament. Though he is making his debut, Jimmy Shalwin is no rookie. He is one of the most experienced wrestlers on the roster with over 12 years of wrestling experience and has held numerous championships including the Price of Glory and NWA Underground Heavyweight championships. In addition to his size, Shalwin is also the largest participant in the tournament, with his combined experience he should be considered one of the favorites to walk out the first champion. However he is taking on one of the few undefeated competitors on the P2W roster Joseph Schwartz. Schwartz successfully defended the IPW Mid American title in an interpromotional title match against Russ Jones and qualified for the tournament by winning a 4 way match also involving American Kickboxer II, Tripp Cassidy, and Julian Dorsett. Both competitors are enormously charismatic, at the very least, this match has the possibility to be the most entertaining match on the show.
P2W Championship Tournament First Round Match: Keith Creme vs. Sean TylerWith his debut performance, Keith Creme had what is considered the best match in P2W so far by defending his VIP Wrestling championship against Jack Verville. Despite his short size, Keith is also one of the most experienced members on the roster, in addition to being one of the best technical and grappling wrestlers in Paradox Wrestling. Keith is a far cry from everything that Paradox Wrestling stands for, he is a no nonsense wrestler who has dedicated his life to the sport of professional wrestling, which could put him at a distinct advantage. The man who will be standing accross the ring from him will be at this point the most successfull man in Paradox Wrestling, Sean Tyler. Sean won the opening match on the first show and was Ryan Epic's replacement in Main Street Youth on the first show against the BeBe Boys. At Mulligan, he qualified for the tournament by defeating The SI, he is the only person on the roster with a 3-0 record after only 2 shows.
P2W Championship Tournament First Round Match: Jimmy Jacobs vs. Jamie EternalWith more bullet points on his resume than most of the P2W roster combined, Jimmy Jacobs is in line to add one more. Not only is he a former IWA Mid South Heavyweight champion and a 2 time Ring of Honor Tag Team champion, he has also competed all over the world and in many of the US's top organizations like EVOLVE, DragonGate USA, Ring of Honor, IWA Mid-South, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, MTV's Wrestling Societ X, and even wrestled the late Eddie Guerrero on WWE's SmackDown. Jimmy Jacobs has proven that in this sport, size isn't everything as he has taken on some of wrestling's largest, most intimidating wrestlers and come out on top. Ironically that's exactly who he will be matched up with in the first round of the tournament when he takes on Jamie Eternal. Eternal is often referred to as a monster, and his freakish appearance is like something straight out of a horror movie. He defeated Frankie the Face on the debut show and qualified for the tournament against another rather large individual Dustin Thomas. It will be a David vs. Goliath scenario that could see either man coming out the victor.
Then, on August 28th, Paradox Wrestling will hold the Daniel Hodum Benefit Show as we try to raise money for the family of Daniel Hodum. We were saddened to hear that 2 weeks ago Daniel had lost his long battle with cancer, but with the help of everyone who comes to the show, we can make a difference and help his family by raising money for medical and funeral expenses. This show will feature many new faces to Paradox Wrestling, all hoping to break the door down to get in and become a regular on future shows. Details regarding the card for this show are scarce and likely won't be determined until the day of the event. We do however have 2 matches confirmed for the show.
Special Attraction Match: Ryan Epic vs. Adam BuellerBoth men have agreed to put their friendship aside and take each other on in the main event of the show. Both men have stated that they are planning to give it their all and leave nothing behind and hold nothing back on one another. In other companies, these two have had some incredibly hard hitting matches with one another. Both know each other very well and have been teaming regularly for a number of years, it will be interesting to see how well their friendship holds up in the end.
