AAW 9/30 Results- New Champs!

A good show, I wouldn't put it higher than the show in July, but mostly positive. I counted about 175 people by head before the lights went out, but a few more staggered on in after that, so close to 200 or more. Biggest crowd I've seen in Berwyn in a while. They had a video snafu, so we went right to the first match.

The first six man was a OK opener, but some of the CLASH/ZG spots looked a bit disjointed starting out. Walker actually made SDS' offense look real good, and Del Sol hit a nice Frosbury Flop over the ropes. Gravity hit a unique double superkick on the CLASH with the CLASH tied together.

Decent weapons brawl between Jacobs and Emerson. Jacobs used BBQ tongs to grab Emerson's little Jesse and wrapped a chain around his neck 3-4 times before cinching in the choke. Truth gave Jesse his book afterwards.

Not much to say about the 4-way with Iron. The promos did nothing and except for Iron, I cared very little for the guys in there. They did try, believe me.

Cannon with the beer shot and Prazak got involved at times. Jacobs came in with the chain, setting up the finish and the dog collar match next month. Match was fine, not as stiff or strike heavy as I would have wanted,

It took one rana to the floor to get the crowd behind Jessie McKay, who is all sorts of awesome. Mena took a hard knee to the chin in the corner and I thought her jaw was busted. Ouch. Neveah turned on MsChif as Chif was going for the finish by hitting a German Suplex. Fine.

Beck vs. Lyndon kind of odd. Lyndon used speed to fight Beck's strength, even though Louis isn't much smaller than Beck is. Boz came out to challenge and Harvey got spiked piledriven, which got a pop. Boz will be @ Bourbon St. next month, suspension or not.

Tag match was half-decent. First elimination was kind of botched with the pin count. Eryn got a "herpes" chant and was in the middle of a three-way spot. IA won it with a double stomp piledriver. Truth, Wagner, and Danny Daniels all came out, leading to the finish. Didn't see Raymond and Able coming. Nice to see them back.

Hollister and Shelley were good in the semi-main. 15:09 was the time, per Jimmy D. A bit kick-heavy, but I expected that. Shane held his own. Actually ended up in the crowd, with Shelley wrenching Shane's leg on the barricade and Shane later flying into the first row. Looked like the tights were pulled.

Colt vs. Silas enjoyable until the end, when it got confusing with run-ins. A bit TNA-ey. Colt actually picked Val Malone up and hauled her around the ring, where everybody got a chance to spank her. I'm not joking. Silas was mocking Colt's funnyman ways throughout. Ref got bumped. Val tried to hit Colt with the boot, but Greg Iron laid out Silas. There was a three count, and most of the building thought Colt won. Plunge was blocked, small package pin by Silas. Another great performance by both, despite the booking. Afterwards, Colt put Iron over and teased Iron going for the title.

Seriously, Danny may technically own the promotion, but AAW belongs to Silas Young. The crowd can't stand him, but he continues to get himself over with his body and mouth and makes his opponents look great. I can't remember the last time I've seen Silas have a bad match and there are very, very few guys in this area who can go as well as Silas can. I remember seeing this guy in Green Bay back in 2003. I thought he had a lot to contribute, but not with his mouth and heelishness. He may be Milwaukee's best, but I think it's safe to say he's Chicago's best, too.

Two big shows next, iPPV @ 115, then Windy City Classic. I'd rather they build toward Classic instead of Bourbon Street, since that's their "big show," but that's just me.

JTB, I seriously wish everyone who went to shows would post their thoughts (positive and negative) like you do. It is a part of this board that is sorely lacking

Building was basically at capacity which is 250. We were scrambling to get more chairs on the floor as the opener was going home. I asked the police officer at the end of the night how many more we could have fit and he said "4 or 5".

Silas is super, yes JTB, but rest assured, Steve Boz is Chicago's best.
