NAPW (North American Pro Wrestling) provided the community center in Elburn, IL with an outstanding evening of wrestling (Saturday, October 15, 2011). NAPW is a growing company with quality entertainment for the entire family. Many new fans experienced the NAPW magic for the first time last evening and had a blast.
A grandmother, mother and her young son mentioned to me what a blast they had and would make the pilgrimage again to Elburn. Scott Rush from nearby DeKalb brought his elderly father and they loved the show. He told me you can't beat the $10 for the entertainment that was displayed.
The show opened with the introductions of local referee Johnny Swift and Orlando's own Seymour Butts. Seymour was the "butt" of many fans wisecracks. A great guy to meet.
1. "The Difference" Joey Rose vs Barry Ryte
Hard to report on a match when some goof (Ryte) throws your pen thinking that I'd want his worthless autograph. Barry did take the early lead on the popular Rose. Once again Joey, known as Mr. Come-from-Behind, was able to turn the tide into his favor. Joey chants echoed throughout the center. Ryte's costly error happened when he attempted a high cross body off the ropes which quickly turned into a small package victory.
Winner: "The Difference" Joey Rose
2. Pauly Thomaselli vs Jack Carpenter
This was the match of the night, hands down! These two gave a clinic. The bout opened with a series of wrist locks, arm drags and classic mat wrestling. Carpenter impressed the fans with a terrific leapfrog only to be caught with a stiff Thomaselli boot to the midsection. Several hard chops were traded off. Pauly, getting tossed onto the arena floor, gave Carpenter the brief advantage. A couple of moonsaults by Thomaselli continued to "wow" the crowd. A thunderous back breaker finally gave Thomaselli the duke.
Winner: Pauly Thomaselli
3. Texas Pete & Jay Kross vs Michael Mack & Anthony Antonelli
The feuding partners of Pete and Kross once again were not on the same page. The "Massive Mountain" Michael Mack along with the swift and quick NAPW rookie Anthony Antonelli made an unique combination. Pete challenged Mack to a pose down which was the flea vs the gorilla.
Texas Pete was no match for the thick Mack early on in the match. The lightning speed of young Antonelli confused Pete even more. The tide switched when Kross entered the ring and overpowered the rookie. Anthony took a hard beatdown for a good portion of the bout. Pete nailed the newcomer with an impressive Rocker like fist off the ropes. The crowd erupted when the big tag was made and Michael Mack began to clear house. Texas Pete was tossed to the floor while Kross suffered a spectacular spear to end the match.
Winners: Michael Mack & Anthony Antonelli
*Kross and Pete traded blows after the match and set up a grudge match for November 19th back in Elburn.

4. Matt Creed (Youth Gone Wild) vs The Beast
The classic eerie music of the "Halloween" theme blasted throughout the community center. The machine of terror known as the Beast made his creepy entrance. WWE HOFer Abdullah the Butcher would be proud. The crowd roared as Matt Creed sailed into the ring. One-half of the highly popular tag team known as Youth Gone Wild.
The Beast heard the dinner bell ring and pounced on his prey. The rule book was practically thrown out as Creed was choked in the corner and had his eyes raked over the ropes. The high flyer was grounded early on as the Beast stood behind him clamping onto his neck with nasty pinch nerves. The Beast used a foreign object that was in his boot and would hide it under his titties to fool the referee. The support from the crowd energized Creed to stage a rally. A few low dropkicks to the knees slowed down the massive Beast. Creed nailed two flying clotheslines and finally floored his opponent with a dropkick off the ropes. The larger Beast would overpower Creed once again and nail his victim with an elbow for the pinfall.
Winner: The Beast
5. Jeff Troy vs Grin
It was my first time watching Grin in action. A very entertaining character. The crowd favored Grin even though he was playing heel. Grin dominated most of the match with Troy making small comeback spurts with an occasional dropkick. An impressive version of a dragon sleeper earned Grin a tap out.
Winner: Grin
*Michael Mack addressed the crowd to a challenge for the November 19th show with "The Strangler" Diego Corleone.
6. "The Love Machine" Matt Longtime vs Derek St. Holmes Esq.
This was the main event of the evening. The crowd was into the dancing of Longtime. The match had too much showboating early on but turned into a good match in the later stages. Longtime's nose and mouth was busted up near the bout's conclusion. Holmes was caught by a nice clothesline for the pinfall.
Winner: "The Love Machine" Matt Longtime
