The evening started out with Matty Star coming to the ring and welcoming the fans back to PWP after our absence. He remarked that he would become the best PWP Champion of all time! This caused “Babyface” Tony Cortez to come out, and explain to Star that he would become a 3 Time PWP Champion before the night is over.
*** “The Beautiful Bodies” Brian Gott & Derek Cornell defeated “The Passion” Zac James & “Canadian Sex Icon” Ryan Slade w/ “Manager Supreme” Axel Greece to win the PWP Tag Team Championship, ending James & Slade's 14 month title reign! What a way to kick off PWP’s return to action with an old rivalry renewed one last time! The bodies had the upper hand but then as they picked up Zac James to delver their finishing maneuver, they ran into the referee knocking him down! Axel Greece got in the ring with the flag pole, however the Bodies were able to use it against him, and Cornell nailed Zac James with a Death Valley Driver to get the pin and finally become Tag Team Champions! After the match, Zac James attacked the referee, and has been suspended for 60 days. In addition to that, James & Slade have been stripped of their contractual right to a Tag Team Championship rematch.
*** Shawn Nautilus defeated Jeff O’Shea. This was as close to David Vs. Goliath as you can get, as everything newcomer O’Shea threw at Shawn just wasn’t enough. Nautilus was toying with O’Shea throughout the match, pulling him up after every pin attempt. Finally, after using his speed and agility to nail an insane tornado DDT, O’Shea almost picked up the upset, but Shawn kicked out. One vicious chokeslam later, and O”Shea was down for the count.
*** Joey Daniels defeated Buck Albright. Buck had a lot of supporters in the crowd and had Joey reeling, but in the end, Joey was able to nail his finisher, and get a quick pin on Buck. After the match, Daniels said he was sick of wasting time, and next month, he wants a shot at the new tag champs, the Beautiful Bodies. He said that he will find a partner, and when they win, they will be the #1 tag team in PWP.
*** “Sensational” Sean Cruz defeated “Unbreakable” Zach Thompson & “The Rockstar” Jimmy Rockwell in a Triple Threat Match. This match consisted of Thompson and Rockwell taking turns beating on Cruz, and talking a lot of smack to him. Cruz was able to nail Thompson with his finisher, and then get the quick roll up on Rockwell for the win! Afterwards, Rockwell attacked Cruz. Thompson pulled Rockwell off of Cruz, but then started in on him himself! Thompson & Rockwell shook hands and went to the locker room.
*** Vic Victory defeated Preston Maxwell. Vic Victory called out Branden Juarez, intending to make him pay for his actions last May, however, Juarez said he didn’t have time to deal with Victory, but he had an old friend who he could face instead. Preston Maxwell attacked Victory from behind, and the match was on. Victory learned the effects of high risk maneuvers as he missed a moonsault to the floor early on which gave Maxwell the advantage. This was a lot of back and forth action, as both former PWP Heavyweight Champions vied for position. Victory finally nailed his Headscissors Piledriver to gain the win. Almost immediately, Branden Juarez hit the ring to attack Victory, however, Darren “Thunder” Russell was on his tail! Maxwell and Victory fought outside the ring, and the referee rang the bell for the next match!
*** Branden Juarez & Darren “Thunder” Russell wrestled to a No Contest. This turned into a wild brawl all over the Armory, and both men hurled each other into walls, chairs and garage doors! Back in the ring, it seemed Russell had the upper hand on Juarez, when Preston Maxwell ran back out, and caused the No Contest. Vic Victory was right behind him, and Victory & Russell were pummeling both men in the turnbuckles. Shawn Nautilus came out of nowhere, and delivered a double clothesline to both Victory and Russell, followed by two of the most brutal chokeslams ever witnessed by the PWP fans! Juarez, Maxwell and Nautilus established themselves as a new force to be reckoned with in PWP, as Victory and Russell were helped to their feet and into the locker room.
*** Matty Star defeated “Babyface” Tony Cortez to retain the PWP Heavyweight Championship. This was a real treat to the fans, a battle between two of the most popular PWP roster members! Cortez seemed to be toying with Star a bit, but Star was there to make an example out of Cortez and prove to the fans he belongs on top. Matty eventually nailed his Top Rope Falcon Arrow, and it is just such a spectacle you have to see it to believe it. It was enough to keep Cortez down and give Matty his first successful title defense. The crowd wouldn’t believe what happened next, as Branden Juarez ran into the ring, nailed Star with a Piledriver and held up the PWP Heavyweight Championship, saying “It’s just borrowed time”, clearly implying he intends to become the next PWP Heavyweight Champion. Star recovered, and said if Juarez wanted a fight, all he had to do was ask, instead of sneaking around like a coward all the time.
This was a great comeback for the PWP fans, and as a special treat, we had a costume contest, which was won by loyal PWP fan Daniel Gilchrist, who came dressed as the Riddler!
PWP returns November 12, 2011, just three weeks away! Details coming VERY soon!
